We had "carne de sol de filé" (salted cured beef) , "cuxá" rice , cooked manioc and fried banana. Everything tasted very good. Giant portion. We ordered half and it served three people. Highly recommend for those interested in having a traditional local meal.

A 5-star experience. You may have to hunt for this place - but it is worth it. The buffet has all the very best Brazilian dishes. The service is excellent. The ambience cool and quiet. The price very reasonable.

We came here for lunch, and got a positive surprice regarding the quality of the food. Everything was excellent, particularly the special meat.

Much more towards fusion cuisine than asiatic, this restaurant has some positive aspects. The house is ok, well decorated, probably targeting a more eclectic audience. The day I visited the place it was very crowded but we had made reservation in advance and had no problem to be seated. Altough accompanied by relatives and friends I couldnt help noticing how emergent were most visitors there, including a photographer taking shots of some locals without prior notice. Kind of place to see and be seen. Back to what is important, the menu is a modest tour into asiatic flavours, Mexican food and international cuisine, very far from a Michelin, but I really enjoyed. Staff doesn't follow the same effort of the menu, less attentive and not well prepared. Wine list is limited. We ordered 3 bottles of sparkinglin wine but were told they had run out of stock in the 4th. Prices are average. In the end I was so well accompanied, food was good, I could say I could come back someday.

They're big thing is that you can eat the pizza with your hands (something unusual for brazilian people). They'll provide some plastic gloves so you can eat without greasing your hands...
Tasty pizza but very small parking space... The ocean view and the nice pizza will probably make you want to go again...
Tip: bring something to tie your hair up if they're long because the outside Seating may be a little windy as this restaurant is right in front of the beach...

I've been coming here for years, and food and Deserts are consistently great. They have now expanded to a second floor, which takes care of the overflow. The other great thing is that it is a super place to establish a meet.

We really enjoyed to have dinner in this place because food was fresh and many locals were eating there too. The waiter is a nice middle aged man who looked after his customers. Caipi were very well prepared! Nice place close to a square with entertainment at night.

Even non-vegetarians will love this place - my boyfriend wants to go here all the time. Gafanhotos is pretty much the only option for vegetarians in Sao Luis that want to lunch out. This is completely okay by me, as the food is tasty, fresh and full of flavor. It even has a little supermarket in the back corner, where you can buy several vegetarian meat substitutes etc. Great place!
