Went with a friend for dinner on a cold night. A local place with a menu of interesting choices, i.e., texas tachos, fried shrimp, green tomatoes, fried pickles, fried mushrooms, mac & cheese, and skins for appetizers. There are also flatbread choices, mac & cheese choices, salads, soup, sandwiches, wraps, and everybody's favorite burgers. There are fish, steak, pasta, and BBQ ribs entrees available. I enjoyed the Cali wrap and fried pickles, others had and enjoyed the bull moose cheeseburger and BLT burger.

Absolutely love Brenda's for the best burgers and homemade custard around. Never been disappointed. Satisfied customer for over 2 years. Stop by off route 34 and wells st. You won't be disappointed.

We have gone here for many years. Great food at reasonable prices. Wonderful margaritas!! I love their steak tacos! Their service is amazing and my grandkids love the train mural and all of the trains they can find in the restaurant... highly recommended for all ages.

Address number was either 1 or 9
Gonzo has the best pizza in this ten-twenty mile area. His thin crust is cracker-crunchy. He only uses the best mozzarella and a sausage recipe of his own. His deep-dish is right up there with the big boys in Chicago. He regularly has bands come in on the weekends, too, so you might get an unexpected treat. We regularly have take-out and the pie is ready when promised.

Stopped in after grocery shopping before heading out of town and had dinner. The restaurant is now located at 102 E Railroad St in Sandwich. The building is very nice, providing a pleasant atmosphere for the restaurant. I had the last burnt ends order with baked beans. The flavor of the burnt ends was good as was one of the sauces but there was quite a bit of fat on and in the meat. Maybe they got one two many servings from that batch. Baked beans had good flavor but were a bit dry. Wife had Cliff combo (reg) and it was fine along with the local version of cole slaw. Reasonably priced, good service and nice place to dine.

Sandwich is a good antiquing town, whether for the antique show in the nice weather months or all year round at the various shoppes. We stopped for lunch. Had delicious cheeseburgers with grilled onions, fresh-cut fries, very good and our very favorites, Fresh Banana Shakes! Everything was very good and we enjoyed our lunch. Their location is excellent, right on the main road Ogden (route 34) and they are in a perfect spot, right in front of the movie theatre. Also, they have a very large menu for ice cream treats so if you are in the mood for a treat anytime, and going down that way, do enjoy!!

Sandwich, Illinois, isn't the dining capital of the world, even of Kendall County, but there are some good restaurants that keep their clientele coming back for more. One is Dearborn's Cafe at 220 Indian Springs Road, off Route 34 between Plano and Sandwich. Located in a former Pizza Hut, the new owners have spent their first couple of years turning a fast-food location into a charming, remodeled and freshly decorated interior that provides a comfortable atmosphere for one and all. It is especially popular with ladies who lunch. Breakfast draws raves...eggs Benedict, pancakes, omelets, sausage and biscuits and gravy, steak and eggs. Weekends are always crowded. But we came for lunch, which also draws a good crowd. Daily specials are very popular...homemade meatloaf, pot roast, chicken pot pie, deep fried haddock, fried chicken, roast Turkey. A hefty Turkey club sandwich with a bowl of chicken noodle soup is very satisfying. It's homestyle cooking with a homestyle atmosphere.

The food was barely warm and the waitress was nice, but not very attentive. I like to leave a good top and I didn't even want to leave one this time. I did however because it's not her fault the food was cold. And my friend specifically asked if her sandwich was grilled and the girl said yes. So my friend said she'd get it but to be sure it was "grilled." She even asked the waitress if she knew what she was saying. The waitress said yes it will be grilled. Guess what, NOT GRILLED. Jeez!

We tried this last month. Such a friendly owner. He waited on us himself and is so friendly and personable. There are several other places that could take lessons from him. Ordered 2 pizzas to go, thought it took a little longer than it should , but they were very good and will definitely order from them again. Liked the sauce and right amount on it. Not too dry, wasn't fond of sausage, but I'm a fan of lots of toppings, it was fine. Like the crust extra crispy and mine was.

Half pound burgers are excellent, the antique bar is very beautiful. The night we were there Woody James was the entertainer, playing a 12 string guitar and singing - awesome job!
