We were in Bulgaria for New Year's and didn't know where to go and what events were planned around town. The hotel attendant suggested this place and made Reservations for us. What a pleasant surprise!
This restaurant is decorated in old artifacts and sets you back several years in the olden days! The front of the restaurant is more personal because it is a smaller area and the Seating is on benches (a little uncomfortable because the seats are so big and the distance from the table and yourself is wide). The back of the restaurant is huge where you can have a private event of 100 people or more.
I cannot comment on the food the place serves on a regular basis, just on what we were given for that night. It was good, and there was a lot. The Waitstaff is nice and they will accommodate you. If anything, stop in here for a drink and experience its ambiance!

Great garden with lovely shades. The service was also very good, we were one of only two tables. We tried caprese salad and green salad, both very nice, also fried squid, and green peppers in tomato sauce. Everything was very good, the service was prompt and the two waiters had a good sense of humour. Someone said it was expensive but it was cheaper than most average Sofia restaurants. We were two adults and a child, we had 6 beers between us, and our bill was 79 leva!

We ate fairly early in the cool of the early evening under the shady sycamore trees. The menu is extensive and the food fresh and tasty. Loved the Shopki cheese, a baked local feta type cheese with tomato and an egg on top. And the Katino meze, a sizzling sache of pork, chicken and vegetables.

Quite bad service and terrible food quality. Salads are relatively good. One of the nights tried beefsteak. Terrible experience. The "meat" was overcooked.

I was surprised tasting the food in this restaurant. My experiences in Bulgaria were not the best, especially concerning the quality of the ingredients. Here everything we ate was fresh, top quality, well cooked. It was surprising because when you enter a restaurant and you are the only customer, you don't expect everything to be so fresh keeping in mind the low season of the hotel. the service was nice, polite and smiling people. The prices were cheap for 5 star hotel restaurant. For sure I recomend and for sure I will return here.

Really nice and cosy place. The chef is very polite and helpful. He recommended us what to cook for us and it was really amazing at reasonable price. They make you feel special. His wife cooks very nice desserts. A lot of the vegetables were home grown in there own garden, while the other products were very carefully selected and of top quality. The only negative note was that half of the menu choices were not available, but the chef offers really nice stuff. That's why I don't rate it with 5 stars.

One of the few nice places where you can relax on the road. The restaurant has parking places so that you needn't worry about your car during your pleasant stay. If you're tired from the long journey, Happy Sandanski offers massage chairs that will make you feel fresh and relaxed. The restaurant was opened on 1st February 2006 and has 120 sitting places in its covered area and 120 in the garden. For its customers' convenience, the restaurant gives you the opportunity to make your order on the way, so that when you arrive it is served and warm for you.
Second time in this restaurant and will come again when visiting Sandanski. Spotless clean, great service and inovative tasty food... Amazing fresh juices and great Deserts. Whenever I want to avoid any disaster in bulgarian restaurants I visit Happy...Thank you for the good words. We appreciate our client`s opinion and we are glad that we made you smile. Be happy! Best regards, Happy Bar & Grill

Position is good, 2 minutes walk from Interhotel Sandanski. Ambient average. Food more than good. Pizza was great but fish was undercooked. Prices average for this city. Wifi ok. Stuff could smile also, they seem rude. I gave 4 stars because yesterday we were in a restaurant that I expected so much (it Wine bar accros Oasis) but it was disaster.

This restaurant specializes in local countryside food. They have an English menu and some waiters understand English sufficiently.
Some dishes will be difficult for people who have no experience with countryside food - stick to what you know and try one unknown dish in that case.
We went several times and it is hard to spend more than 10 Euro per person (including house wine).
Non smokers should go all the way inside.
