We made this place a priority to visit based upon comments of previous reviewers and were not disappointed. It is excellent value in all respects. Staff are friendly enough but hae to be functional to deal with popularity. The place very soon fills up.we both had pizzas, with side salad and they were.very good. House wine is cheap and drinkable. We loved it.

October 2016 was my first visit here since March 2014. This time I ate there on two
consecutive evenings. There are just over thirty covers but on both evenings only
four people dining - myself and the same couple with a child. This contrasted with
my experience two years ago when the place was very lively.
The food is good quality but the proprietor (Mario) has clearly pared down on staff
and so there is a wait for his personal attention. I had supa de marisco and gambas
con ajillo as starters with a goodly portion of fresh fish as the main course. All came
nicely prepared and were a joy to eat.
My one criticism was the wait at the end of the evening. It seemed to take a very
long time to prepare Cafe Americano and to deliver the final bill.
This is a sole proprietor making valiant efforts to survive in the capital town of
his home island (having Agulo as his earlier locale). I do not know is the rundown
in economic activity relates just to his place or more widely on La Gomera or
the Canary Islands generally. I would hope that travellers can support these
home-grown enterprises. Other reviewers have mentioned the place being
full or nearly so - perhaps I chose the wrong two nights. The regular ferry
service between El Hierro (my home) and La Gomera has been withdrawn
and so I will need to await the next "special timetable" to make my next visit.

I expected much more from a restaurant like this. There was neither music nor WiFi. No salt and pepper on the table. The service seemed to be stressed and not very friendly. White wine "blanco afrutado" was only by bottle; they have forgotten my starter; the desert was with red fruits instead of advertised fig confit and typical "Gomeran" biscuit... The food was mediocre, the prices for the portions rather high. An experience I don't have to repeat.

The restaurant was very busy when we arrived - they have an interesting menu - I had sqid & my wife had rabbit - both very good + excellent house wine. If in a hurry get there early or late!
Staff were friendly and helpful - one of our best experiences on Gomera1

Everyone we spoke to said this was the one restaurant to visit so against our better judgement we booked an evening meal. First impessisons were the total lack of ambience. The staff were just trying too hard and it didn't come off.
Having said that however, my wife's rissotto was apparently absolutely delicious. The two fresh fish I was offered were what I'd eaten elsewhere so I chose the lemon sole; big mistake. The texture of the fish and the flavour were most peculiar and this was confirmed when I was woken in the night with griping stomach pains. I think 'been there dunnit' is the phrase. Not again.

Understated, transport caff-like building on the road to Hermigua just outside San Sebastian, reveals a warm and friendly, family-run gem. Spotlessly clean restaurant, with locals' bar area, serving food 'a la parrilla' (grilled). Typical Canarian starters with delicious 'potaje de berros' (watercress soup). Very wide range of meats for grilling with enormous portions and excellent quality. Specials board too. Very friendly staff. You'll want to return time and again; we do.

Above all, the Gomeran fish casserole. The excellent surrounding sea, its unique crops and characteristic manners are its gastronomy’s main ingredients - simple and tasty. Traditional dishes include watercress soup, ‘almogrote’ (cheese paste), boiled blennies and caramelized milk with palm syrup.
Visited for a Birthday meal for my husband. Staff generally unfriendly. Service rushed. Atmosphere lifeless. Food presented in a 1980's fruit with everything way, under seasoned, over rich and not worth the prices - complex but just not very nice. Very disappointed. We left food on our plates every course and no one asked if we enjoyed it or not.

Trying to find a place for dinner on a Sunday night is not so easy on Gomera. So we stepped into this welcoming looking place which seduced us with a cozy decoration in old local style. The Cress soup for starter was very good but the main dish (octopud salad) was a bit disappointing. The octopus way "chewy" and the promised mango was replaced by apples. The other main dish was the rabbit, which was well prepared. Good choice of local wines and from the surrounding Islands. Friendly service.

Arrived on the island mid afternoon, siesta time! The owner was more than happy to serve me a hot meal even though they were nearly ready to close for siesta. The seafood was amazing, the salad one of the freshest I've eaten in a long time. Even more of a bonus it's opposite my hotel.
