San Pedro Cholula is a municipality in the Mexican state of Puebla and one of two municipalities which made up the city of Cholula. The city has been divided into two sections since the pre Hispanic era, when revolting Toltec-Chichimecas pushed the formerly dominant Olmec-Xicallanca to the eastern side of the city in the 13th century. The new lords called themselves Cholutecas and built a new temple to Quetzalcoatl on the San Pedro side, which eventually eclipsed the formerly prominent Great Pyramid of Cholula, now on the San Andrés side. When the Spanish arrived in the 16th century, the city of Cholula was an important religious and economic center, but the center of power was on the San Pedro side, centered on what is now the main city plaza and the San Gabriel monastery. The division of the city persisted and San Pedro remained the more dominant, with Spanish families moving onto that side and the rest of the population quickly becoming mestizo. Today, San Pedro is still more commercial and less residential than neighboring San Andrés with most of its population employed in industry, commerce and services rather than agriculture. Although Cholula's main tourist attraction, the Pyramid, is in San Andrés, San Pedro has more tourism infrastructure such as hotels, restaurants and bars.

We found La Casa de Frida quite by accident when returning from the Mercado. The decor is colorful and spacious as compared to many CHOLULA cafes. They have many great Mexican selections and they arrive steaming and sizzling from the grill. A very nice experience.

Great Restaurant And Great Prices, Overall Excellent.
Even before going inside I knew I would love it. The decor is fabulous and original, the menu extensive and everything we ordered, from two kinds of wood oven pizza to salads, pasta and Argentinean empanadas was absolutely delightful. We were a party of 12 and the service was still great; we were amazed at the very affordable prices as well.
It is not in Puebla but rather in the neighboring San Andres Cholula.

I have been several times in Cus Cus - most times for dinner and beer. It is an enjoyable place to spend the evening. Great and beautiful patio. Nicely decorated. Very relaxed atmosphere. Friendly service. The food is Mediterranean, it is not outstanding but really good and fairly priced. I can recommend Cus Cus.

This is where I breakfasted every day during my two weeks in Puebla. The food was excellent, affordable and they were very flexible about dietary preferences. I found the servers to be friendly and fun and we had many great and interesting conversations in Spanish while I sat in the mornings on their patio, looking out on the zocalo and the Cathedral. I would certainly return.

Pretty, scenic restaurant in the heart of Cholula. We visiting during Sunday breakfast/brunch hours. During our visit, an Aztec ritual dance was performed while we ate. The restaurant overlooks the Cathedral on top of the pyramid "mountain".
I dined on fresh juice ("Oasis" - pineapple/ strawberry/coconut), and a very delicious steak chilaquiles with red sauce. Various very yummy baked goods were served also.
I believe, price wise, this is close to the high end for Cholula, but the prices were less than comparable establishment in the states.
If ever in Cholula again, another visit is an absolute must!

I eat at this shop a couple of times a month alone or with friends. Located between the Zocolo and the Pyramid on the main street. They have good specials on crepes and salads. Good drinks and sandwiches as well. Customer service is so so...but the food is worth it.

We bake our own bagels the traditional way. We have a wide selection of bagel sandwiches and fresh salads. Our natural fruit water is a favorite of the locals. The sweet bagels and desserts are extraordinary. We also sell craft beer, wine and excellent coffee from the Guerrero Mountains.
The bagels weren't from NY but were tasty. I liked that there was outdoor and indoor Seating. The restaurant is located near the university so the decor is student motif. The ingredients were fresh, there were lots of options for sandwiches and it was reasonably priced.

Very good dishes, a little on the heavy side, in a lovely simple place with delightful waitresses, local customers, a gay and relaxed atmosphere, and very good mescal.

Probably the nicest restaurant in the town of Cholula. Beautiful view of famous Cholula church from the bottom of Aztec pyramid. Also the setting is gorgeous with a nice hacienda type garden and architecture.
The food was good and very creative. The menu had very interesting names of dishes and the presentation of them was beautiful. We loved the chalupas - very typical of Puebla. Order the green, red and brown-mole ones.
Highly recommend.

La Berenjena is my favorite Pizza restaurant in San Pedro Cholula (there is also La Berenjena in Sonata, Lomas de Angelopólis). You have a very good selection of pizzas that are reasonable priced. Also salads and Deserts are very good. They offer also a good variety of beers and other alcoholics. The restaurant is simple and casual with a relexed atmosphere. Service is good and friendly.
