While staying in Recoleta, we had relatives take us to El Candado, as they live near the restaurant. Even though they took us home afterwards, we had taken a taxi(160 pesos) to get there, as they work into the early evening. Located in the Martinez/San Isidro area with parking on the streets. It's assisted by a local older gentleman, who was tipped afterwards. Everyone was ordering Italian, so we did also. I had chichen/spinach Ravioli(105 pesos), while my wife had Chicken Risotto with almond/peas(105 pesos). It was completely full, so thank goodness we had Reservations. The waiters were hopping all evening. Definitely a local crowd. We shared a flan afterwards. We both enjoyed our meals. If in the area, would definitely return. But wouldn't suggest a trip there from the city, for sole purpose of visiting the restaurant.

Great service and atmosphere, with both indoor and outdoor Seating. A very interesting, modern menu with plenty of fusion dishes with unique seasonings. Each person at the table ordered something different and all the dishes were great. Be warned, portions are big.

Food you can eat at home, assuming you have very good cooks! Whether it is a salad, a steak or fajitas, everything has very good size and plentiful.
The service is very accommodating to what you are looking for, so go ahead and ask them what they recommend for that dinner.

Excellent food. Great salad bar. Good wine. The best parrilla I had in Buenos Aires. The food is just great. We had mix of meats from the grill and it was the best meat we had from the grill during our entire stay in BA. The service was excellent although they didn't speak english.

Location is superb, in setting (Polo and horse racing area in the upscale BA San Isidro city) and restaurant ammenities & design: private parking (valet or selfparking) within a green area surrounded by trees, modern feeling on restaurant design and a really private feeling when getting to the restaurant.
Hours and tables setting: better be there prior to 13hs on weekends, specially in summer (winter more relaxed)
Reservation is available, calling one day in advance.
Waiters and servers are very well trained, and efficient in servicing tables without additional helpers.
Regarding tables, you have 3 options: windows with polo views, bar Seating area, round family oriented tables and large parties table (6+), have in mind this Seating options when making Reservations!
Menu & wines: in general, you will be served a home made bread, spiced-up butter as starter, usually spinach and artichoke dip with home made nachos will be your best less-risky option. Calamari ring are NOT homemade, so avoid them.
Main dishes will be Argie meats, including grilled salmon, large meat gourmet burgers (1.5 inches thick) withe great flavor and quality seasoned meat.
T bone beefs as well as sushi in different varieties will help to choose excellent options for a wide range of audiences.
On the spirits and wine arena, cabernet-malbec blends are definitely a must, in addition to international beers and premium drinks at the bar. "Nicasia" Blends are a top choice for wine lovers and a really sure choice. Then Luigi Bosca (reds specially) will not dissapoint at all.
An iced almond liquor after dinner will be the best choice from the bar to cool down the experience or chocolate-based desserts. Icecream not recommended, better visit Freddo for the best SouthAmerican ice cream experience.
Prices are in the average range/expensive side, ranging from 15-30 usd for main courses.
Design, wine cavas an the general resto and bar setting (including really clean restrooms) are one of the best within the area.

We have friends who live in nearby Olivios. They took us here about 1pm on a Sunday. Must have just opened for the day, as only a few patrons. Within 1-2 hrs, it was almost full. The track, within easy view, is the practice track. There are no lights for the evening or stands. The race track is out of view. La Rosa Negra down the road in Martinez is the original/more expensive restaurant. The father opened this one for his children to operate. This family knows how to run a restaurant!!! The 1,000 stands for the number of meters around the track. We had a real hamburger with a bun(180p) and a Chinese style dish with chicken/rice(200p)!!! Other dishes were pasta, fish, meat. Good atmosphere/staff/people!!!

Last friday I was lazy to go out, a friend invited me to this restaurant, and I must say I went with not very high expectations, however, once there I found myself in a nice ambience, with lovely food. As it was crowded, the service was a bit slow.
Take into consideration that no credit cards are accepted...

Well, many of you would know that Argentina has a large Italian immigration, but nevertheless. The food and ambiance in this locale was superb. It might be best to reserve as it seems it is quite popular with the locals. I went in a bit early (for South America, but it would be quite late for US minds) to ensure I get a spot. Was not dissapointed. Some of the best pasta I've had, as I said, I felt I was in Italy for the quality and taste. I noticed families, couples and friends having a good time. Not the best place for small children though. It is walking distance from Hotel del Casco that I also have reviewed here.
I'm surely going to get back there in my next trip
