The Delfin restaurant, a place in San Blas where you can experience Mexican cuisine from creation to innovation. It is an intimate space with charming atmosphere and unsurpassed personal and friendly service.
I wrote a review about the restaurant when reviewing the hotel, so this might be redundant.
Ate dinner here. Did not like it. Bacon and cheese stuffed chicken with spinach mashed potatoes. The potatoes tasted just like spinach. I like spinach, but I prefer my potatoes to taste like potatoes. I didn't like the chicken either, but I was hungry, so I ate it. I think it needed some salt, maybe a nice sauce. Just was boring and bland.
Ate breakfast here too. Liked it even less. Despite the fact that there were too many servers on, you would think the service would be good, but it wasn't. All they did was fill up coffee cups. We ran out of tortillas, and that seems to be unusual in Mexico. There was ketchup on the table and no salsa. Again, maybe unusual in Mexico. Tortillas and salsa are such staples here. But I don't think any of this would have mattered if the food was good.
It wasn't. My 'sausage' was a hot dog. My toast was cold and a little too sweet. The eggs were fine. My tea cup was empty most of the meal, while my coffee drinking friends all had full cups.
I had mind-blowing amazing food from multiple places in San Blas during my 2 week stay here, so the 2 meals I ate at hotel Garza were extremely disappointing. If the street food is amazing and the local taqueria is amazing, how come the 5 star restaurant is terrible?

We found this family ran place to eat but the hospitality was amazing. The son Pedro who is the host speaks very good English and was very informative for places to go and see. The food is good and they "get it" when it comes to food allergies. I have celiac and had no problem with the food we ate there. We would highly recommend Wala Wala.

The San Blas Social Club is just that, a place where people gather or meet and socialize. The feel of the place is a mixture of old Vegas Side Lounge Boomerang Bar/ Jazz club. We play an eclectic array of Classic Jazz, Blues and contemporary Americana during the morning and afternoon and change up after 10 pm to a modern club lounge setting. The kitchen puts out American breakfasts and the best burgers in town for lunch along with other standards. The dinner menu offers thick Rib-Eye Steaks, giant Blue Shrimp Scampi, pasta dishes and specialty sandwiches.
Been visiting and drinking at the Social Club since Augustine opened at his first location. You'd have to ask him when but I'm thinkin' 90's. Great place to socialize hence the name. Lots of ex-pats, tourists, snowbirds and locals to mix it up with. Haven't...MoreThanks for the kind words, but yes we've come a long way. Remember our first sound system? Turntable, amp and 2 car speakers in cardboard diaper boxes. Now I just installed a POS system.

Juan Bananas' bakery in San Blas is a favorite for locals and tourists alike. The bakery which is part of Juan's home, also known as "La Tumba de Yako, is an attraction in and of its own. It is conveniently located on the main road that heads from the town square to the local beach "Playa El Borrego". During the high tourist season the bakery also serves as a cafe serving breakfast/brunch.
A trip to San Blas would not be complete without a trip to Juan Banana's for a loaf of Banana Bread and their cookies! Best Banana Bread I've ever had. Check it out, fresh from the oven!!

This McDonald's den's have golden arches- don't be fooled.
The drinks are good and heavily poured. The service was slow, but the food wan't at all bad. Standard Mexican fare in a upscale (for small town Mexico) setting. Nothing really to complain about or write home about- but that is a plus in San Blas.

We had a quick lunch here one day on the run. The place is easy to find on the main street, Av. Juarez. It was cute and clean, service was prompt, and the waiter (who I think is the owner) was a nice guy. We were the only customers at the time.
I had something super simple -- tacos, if I remember -- accompanied by salad greens. I don't do well with real incendiary salsas. I enjoy the flavor and authenticity, but I have an autoimmune disorder (Crohn's) that flares up painfully at any real fiery stuff and often causes days of fever and chills.
Unfortunately, my whole lunch was doused with what must have been habañero salsa. It was fairly clear and watery so it didn't send out a visual alarm, but it packed a real punch. I ate only a few bites before I realized the salsa was on everything. It was tasty, but I regretted those bites for the next three days and ended up having to cancel on one of the birding trips we had come to town for.
I don't really blame the restaurant for this. I know it would not be an issue for the vast majority of people, but for me it was kind of a disaster. We travel so often in Mexico, and I so seldom run into real trouble with overly hot food (the hot stuff is usually on the side and optional) that I just didn't have my guard up the way I should have.
My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed his lunch a lot. We'll be back in San Blas next year and will give Ofro's another try. I'll just ask a few questions before I order!

Had breakfast here on 2 occasions. First time I was solo, owner was very friendly and service was fast. Food was delicious and hearty, the friendliness of the family sitting near me who introduced themselves and engaged in such pleasant conversation made me realize what a true family style restaurant this was! 2nd visit I brought my adult son and his friend, both enjoyed the tasty breakfast and good sized portions. Prices were very reasonable, 1 block from town square, a cool break from the heat, wifi was an added bonus! I will definitely go again!

A nice little restaurant, it's decorated with shells and other leftovers from the sea. Typical of the pueblo, small, but reasonable.
We ate guacamole, quesadillas, ensaladas, fillet mignon, and a plate of fish asada. Everything was really nice. The salad had a really nice mango dressing, and not that 'Randy's crap that is plastered over salads here.
