I went there for lunch. It was over crowded. They do have ac's which saves you from sitting out and sweating. Utensils and glasses where all old just like in old cafeterias. For lunch there was a fix menu. Reasonable price. Food was pretty fine but nothing special. The place is not even on the sea side. Eventually there was nothing special. Which brings the question. Is this place over rated? Am I missing something?

We were greeted in a very friendly way and even though we had not booked at this busy time of the year they seemed happy that we were there. The restaurant is very airy, part of it inside, part of it under immense parasols. Thousands of birds in the trees make the whole thing almost unreal.
The Iftar cuisine we were served was much better than the same repetitive fare we had been served for 2 weeks : delicious soup, klimali pide (a kind of meat bread), refined pastries.
Service was quick and very efficient catering to the dozens of people eating there at the same time.
Besides it was a wonderful experience seeing all these families getting together to "break the fast", waiting for the signal from the waiter that they could start eating : "Afyat Olsun!"
And these people do not even know they are rated on Trip Advisor!

Samsun is off the beaten track and not many westerners visit but they should as you will be welcomed. Our hotel recommended parmuk kardesler as a good seafood place and it was perfect. We were a group of 9 and had travelled from Beijing through the stans Iran Armenia and Georgia to the Black Sea coast of Turkey and were ready for good fish. We were not disappointed. We got to select our fish and other seafood from a great display of fresh fish and fresh salads. This is a family run establishment with father and sons working together. Service was excellent the food was delicious and this place is popular with the locals so it has to be good.
I would happily recommend Pamuk Kardesler. It is a great location right on the water and comparable with San Francisco and Seattle though not quite as expensive. Great people great food.

et lokantası samsunun simge kuruluşlarından biri. Türkiyedeki en iyi dönerlerden biridir burdaki döner, herşeyin en kalitesi kullanılır. Servis çok iyi.. Garsonlar bile 30 yılı aşkın bu işletmede çalışıyor, öğle yemeği için ideal, zaten öğle saatlerinde yogun oluyor. boyle işletmeler yaşamalı...

I have been there numerous times. It is one of the signature restaurants of Samsun at Saathane Square. They just serve doner kebab as the main dish. It is good but not the best in town, I.M.H.O. I prefer the doner kebab served at Merkez Lokantasi in Taflan. They also serve home made "ayran", salad and pickles on demand. It is a typical artisan restaurant. No alcohol. Men eat downstairs, women, couples and families eat upstairs which is called the "family section". The service is fast, food is reasonably priced and tasty. If you are visiting downtown and want to eat where the locals eat, you won't regret it.

Eskiden Samsun için beyaz evin ayrı bir önemi vardı. Orada yemek yendiğim her an mutlu kalkardım . Şuan için de kötü sayılmaz , İskender yemenizi yine tavsiye ederim . Fiyatlar normal düzeyde, servis hızlı ve özenli ..

After a magical mystery tour round the port in Samsun, and asking the way three times, we found the restaurant. A surreal concrete clamshell on the waterfront, though we were shown to an outside table. At 27 degrees that was no hardship.
We were hosted by a Turk so I have no idea how the menu worked but the waiters spoke English so there should be no trouble.
We drank chilled red Turkish wine as a cornucopia of taste arrived.
Shepherds salad, rocket in lemon juice, some cheese and assorted dishes of tasty stuff to eat with bread. There were roasted green beans, chilis, aubergines.
This was followed by a small plate of Black Sea fish like grilled sardines but clearly fresh water. These came with a plate of special corn bread, more like a flat fried crumbly biscuit.
Next was another Black Sea fish, large fillets coated on corn breadcrumbs and quite delicious. Its skin was covered in small, round pointed scales which were easy to remove as were the bones. The flavour was marvellous. I seem to remember some fruit and Turkish coffee. The wine flowed freely and I believe the bill was about £30 a head which seemed good value. There is always a premium for eating by water and in this case it was worth it.
