My husband and I went to this restaurant and pena 2 weeks ago, and it was a wonderful evening. Our dinners (carne, of course) were among the best (outside of the gourmet wine tour lunches around Mendoza) that we had in Argentina with a really attentive and fun Waitstaff in a pleasant and odorless environment. But the performers were the highlight. The dancing was very good; the band of classical guitarists, violin and drum, was superb with the very talented singers harmonizing flawlessly; and the last singer not only very good but funny. And we were not alone---we were surrounded by locals who were mouthing the words to the songs, dancing and smiling the whole evening.
As someone who has attended a lot of musical Performances all over the world and studied classical guitar, I can highly recommend this restaurant and pena. Plus, the prices were very reasonable.

Fabulous atmosphere, the food was good classic parrilla fare , including excellent empanadas and humitas and tamales. The music performed by the customers made this place outstanding, it felt very authentic and incredibly charming. There is no official"show" so I suppose you could be unlucky and miss music if no one was performing. There was so much music when we were there I expect it is unusual not to have any.

Service is good.
I ate Goat stew.. Was good. But hopefully they can add some spices and reduce salt! The owner..are you listening?
My friend ate the beef and fried chips. The portion was huge!
The waiter reminded me twice to pay tips. Felt amused but I would have paid anyway!
Ambience is 10/10

Javi Dos is a terrific place to eat - particularly at lunch - and see the world go by. We stayed at Legado Mitico around the corner - great place - and had lunch at Jovi Dos two days in a row. The menu is extensive and portions huge, so don't over order. Part of the cover charge includes bread and bean appetizer with salsa. The beans are the best we had while in Argentina. One day we had gnocchi and salad - gnocchi portion for one is enough for two people. Gnocchi were pretty good. Salad was great because you can make up your own. Another day we had omelette and salad. Omelets were out of this world, Really perfect. Great half bottles of wine - recommend the Torrontes. They usually have one or two available. This is not fancy and a lot of locals eat here because it is home cooking. Service was super friendly and helpful. Skip the fancy places for lunch and enjoy. This is a place for people who want to experience good old fashioned local food. Sitting outside also gives you a great place to people watch.

Friendly staff; good menu; good food; good wine; decent value for money. Hard to find anything to change. We went twice because the second day was Valentines Day and everything was special menu. Both experiences were very good. Mostly locals, but wait staff were willing to work with our broken spanish. We were always treated as a valued customer in the restaurant.

Ma Cuisine Resto proposes dishes for every taste with the uncomparable touch of french cuisine. Salta, Argentina.
If you've had enough parillada, head for this French themed restaurant. It's about five blocks off the plaza, but better and more intimate than the touristy places on the plaza. We ended up going here two nights for dinner we liked it so much. Each night we had a fish dish, although there are plenty of meat dishes. Entrees include one of the many side dishes, such as mixed vegetables or potatoes. Sauces are excellent. Chef and owner Roberto is very warm and friendly, as is the only server Veronica. Only about eight tables so make a reservation (you can use Facebook Messenger) Very nice wine list as well. A nice dinner for two with a bottle of wine will run you in the $50 range. Very highly recommended.

This is a parilla (steakhouse) that advertises itself as a 'parilla libre' which means a buffet. But it's not really a buffet. It's all inclusive (200 pesos for the meal, drinks are separate). The meal begins with a display of bread and some pickled vegetables. Then the waiter brings out certain cuts of beef and chicken and pork. You feel uncomfortable if you don't eat the cuts you are brought so you are full by the time the good cuts of beef are finally brought out. It's a rather odd setup. At the end, I found out you could ask for specific cuts from the waiter, but he never made that known to me until I finally asked. They should change that policy. The quality of the meat was good, but I think 200 pesos is a bit much.

Walking out on the hotel suggestion for dinner, and with no idea where to go, we read a few reviews and saw this was close by and decided to give this restaurant located in the Designs Suites hotel a try. A small space and all white and the only people there (we were tourist early), we were unsure if we should walk out on this one as well but we are very glad we stayed! The meal was delicious in almost every way - from the crackers with blue cheese spread, eggplant mille feuille, fantastic tenderloin, corn pudding and couscous risotto sides, to the mouthwatering chocolate mousse. The only item that we didn't love was the chicken but it could not affect our rating as everything else was so good. The server was extremely nice and attentive and was very patient with our very bad spanish! We walked out of the first restaurant (lots of pictures and english translations on the menu) and ended up with one of the best meals of our trip to Argentina for a very reasonable price considering the quality of the food.

We were spoilt for choice with so many lovely restaurants in Salta. This one was tucked away a little, but lovely inside. The chef was very friendly & happy to chat about his experiences & what he is trying to achieve with this restaurant.
We tried the sampling menu - very good & interesting, but we wouldn't choose this again. As one of the reviewers said, some of the dishes seemed to be a little too salty, although very well presented. Glad we tried it though!

We had the Cochinillo Segovia, served with potatoes and vegetables. The service was excellent, and the food was amazing! The prices are reasonable for what you get. I certainly suggest that if you have the opportunity while in salta, you stop by and try it! Just a fair warning, there is a lot of food, so if you are going to order a whole one be sure you have a hungry group with you!!
