Visited after crossing the Lemhi Pass. This place was highly recommended by a local. In spite of the name, the decor was tasteful and the service was very friendly. All four of our party had some variation on their signature item - a burger with all the trimmings and a special garlic sauce. Perfectly done. I had a stout called “Irish Death”. It was among the best I have had here or in Ireland.

Residents of Salmon told us this is a great bakery, and it is! My husband and I were passing through through the town of Salmon, and we stopped at this bakery. We bought a loaf of fairly healthy bread; it was so fresh and delicious! We also bought at least six assorted pastries that we ate over the following week. They were all very good.
We wish we had such a wonderful bakery near home.

We stopped in and had breakfast for lunch. I had an omelet for an entrée and a waffle for dessert. The food was very good.

Bertram’s Salmon Valley Brewpub and Restaurant is located at the corner of Main and S. Andrew’s streets, in a century-old building in the heart of downtown Salmon. The decor is an eclectic mix of northwestern Rockies and Africana, old and new. Opened in November 1998, Zimbabwean owner and brew master, Nick Bertram, features eight hand-crafted and award-winning microbrews. Dine with the family in the full-service restaurant or relax with friends in the cozy pub with the brew kettles fully visible behind the bar counter. Bertram’s offers an extensive a la carte menu of steaks, fish, pub grub, burgers, and sandwiches; as well as a salad bar. Breakfast is available on Saturdays and Sundays until 1:00 PM
Came 8n with my sister for a light dinner. We decided to do the all-you-can-eat Soup and Salad Bar. Everything on the salad bar was fresh and crisp. They were out of the chicken noodle soup so we ate the bean and ham and we were blown away by the flavor! So, so good!! Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Service was excellent. Highly recommend this establishment!

The Shady Nook has the only full service bar and restaurant in Salmon Idaho. We serve the finest quality steaks, fresh fish, home smoked baby back ribs and organic chicken. Great bar food and the best burger you could have. We have a wonderful outdoor patio with two fire pits and heaters for those cool nights. Our hours are 7 nights open at 4. Sundays open at 11 am for bbq & cocktails on the patio. We take pride in everything we do and thrive on giving you the best dining experience on your trip. Reservations are appreciated and big groups welcome.
An excellent "house steak" (sirloin) and Alaska sockeye salmon. A perfect dry martini. Wine and beer very good and priced well. Service was very friendly and well timed. Definitely recommend.

good service, good latte...apparently I have to get to 50 characters. Okay, the building was kind of neat-the drive in was a strange path, but I figured it out as I waited for my latte. Look around and see the very artistic paint on several nearby houses/businesses.

Great burger grill place recommended by locals. ate there while driving through town. Good eats!
Last month I traveled to Salmon, Idaho for a much needed retreat. Stopped for gas. Since it was getting late and i know how small towns are I asked local, after filling up, where was a good place to eat that would still be open. He suggested The Savage Grill. Upon arriving, I noticed the small town vibe, this is obviously the high school hang out. It brought me back. The place was busy but friendly and there were plenty of menu options to choose from. My order came out promptly, accurately and tasted amazing. This is a little treasure, I will be returning to when I'm in the area. In the meantime, Savage Grill, don't change a thing.

I think this is the only restaurant in Salmon with an open patio out over the river; absolutely the best location to eat on a nice day. Very good selection of the best beers from the two big Mexican breweries, plus other choices. Wide choice of Mexican - style meals on the menu.

My wife and I showed up at 9 pm very hungry. We didn't ask for much, just a dinner salad and a 12 inch pizza. We were waited on almost immediately and our order taken right then, so we thought things would go well. Then, we waited and waited for our salad while the waitress proceeded to clean the table of a large party. Finally the salad came with limp lettuce and a dressing that was different than our order. We were so hungry that we ate it anyway. By the time the pizza came we were starting to get hungry all over again. The pizza was average. It sufficed to fill us up but we wouldn't return.
