My sister and I enjoyed lunch at the Ambrosia Tea Room during our recent visit to Salado. It's in a great location right in the heart of Salado, within easy walking distance of lots of shopping and great B&B's. The Tea Room is actually several rooms - which makes each room feel cozy/intimate. We ate on the sun porch and enjoyed the beautiful weather. The service was quick and friendly. And the food was WONDERFUL! Be sure to try the black eyed pea soup!!

Alexander's overlooks one of the most beautiful sections of Salado Creek. It features an upscale and intimate bar on the 1st floor that opens onto a veranda and deck with a spectacular creek view. Dining & beverage service is available on first floor, as well as event spaces on second and third floors. Alexander's offers a variety of appetizers, salads, entrees, & desserts.
We had the pleasure of dining at Alexander's Distillery this evening for our wedding anniversary 21 Dec 17. The food was excellent and presentation was wonderful. The service was beyond our expectations. Jessica was our wait person for the evening. Drinks, food, etc.... from the start to finish was right on time and perfect. We definitely will return. There are so many more choices and selections we'd like to try.

McCain's is a small town/local owned breakfast and lunch establishment. We opened in September of 2008, and have become a favorite of locals and tourist as well as a welcomed stop for the weary travelers from nearby Interstate 35. We have an espresso bar, but if you love coffee, be sure to try our Salado's Best Coffee". Salado is a great get-away village located halfway between Waco and Austin, Texas. "The Great Place" aka Fort Hood Military Base is just a quick 30 minute drive away. Stillhouse Hollow Lake and Belton Lake are very near as well. We hope to see you soon, but please note we are only open 7:00 a.M. - 2:00 P.M. And we close on Wednesdays.
This is such a great place to meet. The food is great and the waitresses are friendly. If you arrive at a popular time expect to wait. It is small and popular but definitely worth it! Nice portions and prices are reasonable. Thanks for your kind words. Yes, there are times when you may have to wait, but we do our very best to make your time enjoyable and the food tasty!

Another surprizingly good local place. Great kolaches and donuts, owners always smile and seem to enjoy their customer...think many many and daily regulars!!! fun to watch the school moms bring their little girls in dressed for school and the girls deciding on color of sprnled donuts.

This isn't FAST food... It's GOOD food! Relax, have a drink, and enjoy the wait! Games available at the register!
Decided on this place because of the TA rating. Interesting local place with good service. Burgers people nearby had while we waited for takeout looked good. We ordered their special with pepperoni, hamburger, peppers, mushrooms & onions. When back at hotel discovered it wasn’t baked long enough to melt cheese in center. Still in strands. Toppings precooked and added after baked. As a result they fell off when you picked up apiece. Threw it away. Had we been at restaurant, it would have gone back. Never experienced anything like this before.

Had high hopes but this place was average at best. The steaks were very heavily peppered and I had asked about it and was told they were just seasoned ........so be aware if you don't like heavy peppery seasoning. Ordered a baked potato and asked for butter and got margarine called the girl back and she they didn't have butter......really a steakhouse and no real butter ?? So we ordered cobbler to go......the menu said pecan, blackberry or peach........we said blackberry and it was certainly not that and nor was it either or the other 2 choices ........so who knows......but it looks like cherry which I cant have if not not sure what it is, but they need to make sure things are right as people are allergic to things ......would not go back.

Absolutely an adorable place in the cutest town.. I had the most scrumptious sandwich, their BBT Bacon, Brie, and tomato!! Total perfection.. My husband had the Turkey club, they offer several choices for sides.. Love the eclectic look here.. The service was phenomenal, there were two rude women in front of us in line, they asked the girl at the counter what kind of starch was in the bread, if they use MSG, if things were Vegan friendly, they had the poor girl sending the waiter back and forth into the kitchen for answers. They even asked if the water was filtered..All this while the line grew behind them..I was amazed how polite and patient the counter girl was.. My husband laughed and cracked jokes about their Rude behavior all the way home.. This is a great place for a great lunch, I’m sure those ladies weren’t local..

This is a family owned and operated pizzeria and we would we love for you come by and allow us to serve you!
Since it's the only pizza place in town it's not too bad but you might have to wait around an hour to get pizza. Great topping choices and a nice crust.Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. I do apologize for the wait but yes on some nights we do get quite busy.

Between Stagecoach Road and Main Street
Actually a surprize!!! cafe is comfortably large, waitstaff is efficient and engaged, food is quite good, parking is not great, and place is hard to find...sign on Main street sez "Cafe" but no hint on where it is.
I had the chicken fried steak, was acceptable...and the soup was really good (going back today for a late lunch meeting).

Wings on Main serves hand cut wings, fresh salads, sandwiches and many other items. Try our one of our more than 15 flavors of wings or our delicious Philly Cheesesteak! Our salads include: roasted Turkey and bacon, apple walnut and crispy chicken. Dine in or order to go!
Fresh handmade sauces really make this place great. Spicy, sweet, firey, you choose and will not be disappointed. Some very tasty salads and hand breaded cheese sticks for the vegetarians. You can order and go next door to Chupacabras for your favorite wine or craft beer and they will bring it over when it's ready. I love Salado!
