Accommodated Anglophones, seated on patio immediately on a busy night without a reservation, magical forest poutine and all dressed pizza was delicious! Best part however was the side salad with the pizza. Would have been happy to have just ordered a huge bowl of that! Would love to go again on the next road trip up

Four of us had dinner here one night.
Many craft beers were not available which was a big disappointment.
Service and server was GREAT!
Had the Lamb Shank (Great) Bison Burger (Great) Chicken Brochettes (Average) and Venison in Honey (poor cut cooked very well with little if any honey)
We would come here again

Our home cooking is made with products fresh from the area and with lots of love! Our secret? Comforting soup, fresh bread from our bakery, apples, pears and other freshly picked fruits. Maple syrup from the region, herbs from the garden, sausages with creton, desserts from grandmother, organic coffee, real strawberry lemonade, cheese from the factory in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, apple juice, tomatoes, cucumbers and fine herbs fresh from Cap St-Ignace! All these fresh products are used to create an array of pitas and pizzas and well seasoned salads, a medley of vegetarian options, the lot, sprinkled with creativity and smiles! Our dragonflies have travelled from table to table listening to our customers daily needs for 34 years. We are pleased to serve you!
We were just stopping through as the restaurant is only about 3 km from the 20 highway. They have a great patio or a cute eclectic inside too. First, we are English and the restaurant has both French and English menus. The server also spoke...MoreThank you for your comments ! The restaurant was not busy, the wait was extremely long, the food was mediocre. We were actually thinking about leaving when our waiter finally arrived at our table. The waiter seemed distracted with talking with fellow waiters/friends and was not attentive to our needs at all. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Our August road trip to Halifax was at a leisurely pace that would normally see a stop in Levis, PQ, but we had made good time and ended up off the main route and on to 132 following the south shore of the St Lawrence River. We had a coffee to start the day, but by 09:30 we were looking for breakfast and that's easy in a small town such as this. We drove past several restaurants with empty patios and others with empty parking lots till we came to the Restaurant Saint Jean. Lots of cars in their parking lot and an over half full dining room told us the locals had the best place in town and that suited us just fine. We got seated and Denise was quick with the coffee and menus then gave us the specials. Easy decision for me when Eggs Benedict is offered and my s o ordered an omelette with spinach and cheese. I was expecting Home Fries, but got small squares of fries that were just fine, but different. More important, the Eggs Benedict was absolutely heavenly and I don't think you could find better anywhere. My s o reported a very satisfying omelette and I noticed only the pattern was left on her plate, so it must have been good. Denise kept the coffee topped up and never stopped for a second being the only dining room staff on that morning. Denise was efficient, friendly and did a great job keeping everyone fed, the tables cleared and tabs paid. The breakfast was incredible and I'm tempted to make the drive from Toronto for a repeat. This place is only a few minutes off the TransCanada, but a world away from the Golden Arches or Wendy and worth the detour to enjoy a fabulous meal. I highly recommend the Restaurant Saint Jean. Try it!
