Colorado Boy Brewery

This was an unexpected bonus to discover the Colorado Boy Brewery... and pizza kitchen! We almost didn't stop because of the number of people there. We were able to find two seats at the bar and were forced to sit when we smelled the captivating scents of fresh baked pizza from the kitchen behind the bar. We recommend others to experience the wonderful tastes of food and drink offered here!

Cimarron Coffee & Books

Reviewed By rob2269 - Grand Junction, Colorado

I stopped in to try the hot chocolate. The staff (3) were friendly and managed my order a bit slowly, but I didn't care because I was checking out the books. A nice selection for such a small shop. The hot chocolate was not very hot, but it was flavorful.

The inside seating area is in a small room with a big window and nice view. If the weather is good, the outside seating looked like the place to be.

Many locals obviously like the coffee, as 6 locals piled in to get "the usual" while I waited for my order.

Check out the other bits and bobs for sale. I purchased some Gus chocolate. The packaging was pretty as was the cacao image on the top of the bar. Too bad the choc wasn't as nice as the presentation. The buttermilk bar was quite soft and had no buttermilk flavor. The other two flavors had a crisp snap when bit, but tasted like cleaning solution, so give the gus chocolate from Ouray a skip.

Ice Cream Parlor. Excellent! Cups and Cones, Lots of great milkshakes made with REAL ice cream, Awesome Sundaes, Floats too. Really fresh and delicious in a super clean establishment! The Cherries are imported from Italy and the whipped cream is home made.

My husband and I stopped in Ridgway to see the True Grit Café. However, instead of having lunch, we splurged on huge sundaes at the cute little Café Ridgway à la mode. Some sundaes and shakes had unique names. My husband had the Knickerbocker Glory ($7.37) that consisted of two scoops of vanilla and one scoop of strawberry ice cream, topped with raspberry jam, peach preserves, nuts, and a cherry. I had the Sexi Lexi ($5.25) that consisted of coffee ice cream, caramel sauce, toffee, amaretto whipped cream, and a cherry.

Chairs and tables were both inside and outside. Postcards on the counter showed the ice cream shop with snow-capped mountains in the background. The shop even hosts an annual milkshake competition.

I've eaten here 3 times now and every time, it's the same result. Food is okay and freshly cooked - nothing earth shattering though. Service is BEYOND slow! I feel sorry for the servers as they're severely understaffed! Our last time there this past week it took well over 1/2 hour to get our check once we finished eating and actually asked for it. Not a good scene or good business when people are waiting for seats yet you can't leave because you don't have your check.

This awesome, charming, little restaurant knows how to make amazing curries - LOVED the massaman curry! The wait staff couldn't have been more friendly and informative regarding menu! The delivery of the food was a little slow - the only drawback. We had a lovely meal on the patio. They don't take reservations, but I phoned as we left our hotel and Mitch ( the owner's grandson) was happy to reserve a table for us. If you have the chance to meet the amazing owner, Alouni, with an amazing story it will well be worth your time. Alouni was a prisoner in Laos in 1975 for 4 years following the Vietnam war. He is truly a hero in too many ways to mention. He is one of the most humble, caring, salt of the earth people I have ever met!

We've been eating at the Adobe in since about 1986. It's been our favorite restaurant throughout all those years. We've been some of their best ambassadors in fact. However our most recent meal was an exception. Salsa was different. Chips were stale. Tostada was heavy on the beans. The guachamole was good but could have been better with fresh tasting chips. The main course was good overall but the Elote was dry. We didn't recognize any of the wait staff. We do hope it was just an off night We'll give it one more chance before we walk away disappointed.

Arrived there with a friend for their Wednesday "Burger Night." They had craft beer drafts for only $3 and I ordered a burger with avocado and a roasted poblano Chile with a side salad. Everything was excellent. This is a cool little boutique cafe/bistro with some inventive options, good service, and a convenient location. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area to try more of their menu items.
