We were in Requena for cava tasting and decided to stop for lunch at the Posada de Agueda. We heard from friends (Spanish locals) that it is excellent food & wine. So true, we were recommended an amazing new cava and food was magnificent as well. The restaurant's main room is well lit and so cozy. Service was also amazing!! A must do if you are in the area!!

On an overnight stop, located on the main street, the food was pleasantly and beautifully presented. Even managed to get invited into the kitchen ... which was amazing to see the preparation behind our amazing meal. The grilled vegetables, the salads ... BUT even more than that was the amazing grilled steak. Unaware of it´s size, the owner/waiter took it upon himself to tell us to only order one .... it served four of us! The desserts were scrumptious as we dined outside on a early June evening. Definitely go back!

Postres caseros a elegir, y cafés.

This is one of the best places in Requena to try typical dishes of the region, such as "gazpacho manchego" (chicken, garlic and bread in kind of a soup), roasted rabbit, "morteruelo" (pork, liver and another types of meat mixed and cooked) and "queso manchego" (aged cheese of La Mancha). You can try also some Valencian specialties as roasted cuttlefish. Requena is between La Mancha and Valencia, that's why you can find all these kinds of food.
Mesón Fortaleza is a very comfortable place, with really kind staff, and a medieval decoration, as it is placed near the castle. Totally recommended!

We chose this restaurant as the reviews mentioned the Tapas and were not disappointed.
We had booked a table in the cellar, but as we arrived early - 8.30pm - we were the first diners, so chose instead to eat upstairs on the ground floor, where we are able to peruse the extensive selection of local wines on the shelves all around. The staff were very knowledgeable about the wines and we really enjoyed choosing!
The Spanish menu was explained in detail and we really enjoyed our selection!
The restaurant quickly filled up and had a great atmosphere.
Highly recommended.

Discovered this place opposite our hotel and were very pleased to find it was open on a Tuesday evening. The salad made an excellent starter (between 2 people!) and both the Argentinian steak and the pork fillet were melt-in-the-mouth. A bottle of the local Requena Utiel Reserve went perfectly with our selection, as did the local desert wine we had with our chocolate coulante . The waiter was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back there.

Servicio atento.
Recomendable

Disinterested staff, far from clean outside tables, attempted to eat here based on other reviews but gave up and moved to the other side of the square
