Buried amongst the construction and new buildings is this quiet, romantic French bistro like place. It offers French and Italian food. Well prepared food and friendly service is found here. Parking is difficult due to the construction.

Renton’s Finest Foods Since 1901! * Steakhouse voted #1 Western WA in 2010 * Affordable high quality menu *Historic Landmark in Renton The building in which the Melrose Grill resides was established in 1901 and has served as a tavern since the days of the horse and buggy. It also operated as a pool hall, soda shop and card room during Prohibition. Recently restored, Melrose Grill kept its historic roots with the original mirror-backed bar with its rich, dark woods. The walls showcase vintage photos that highlight the transitions this grand building has gone through. With wainscoting on the walls, low-slung lamps and high ceilings the space feels as open as the West was when it was built. The Food and Service at Melrose Grill will amaze and delight your senses. We work hard to provide our customers with the finest foods available, and prepare them in a way that will tame even most particular palate. Voted #1 Steakhouse in Western WA by King 5 & Evening Ma.
Melrose Grill almost got a negative review even before we ate there due to their customer service. I didn't realize they were as popular as they are. I just happened to think about going here for our 37th wedding anniversary. I looked up the menu on line to see their offerings and then I saw a place for reservations, not knowing the popularity of this restaurant I looked on Friday for Saturday night reservations. My only options were 9:30 or 9:45 on Saturday night. I did not want to eat that late but it did give me an option for Sunday at 4:15pm. I hesitated as the website site said to call if you can't get a reservation for the time you want. I called and left a message and told them that I would like reservations on Saturday between 5-6 and it was ok to call back until 10pm. I waited for an hour or so and then I decided to go for the Sunday slot as it was still available to book on line so I did it. I then called them back and had to leave another message. I waited til 10pm and no call back. Hence the almost bad review as they said I needed to tell them when the latest was they could call back. At this point I gave up and decided that we were going to go on Sunday. We were out doing our errands on Saturday and got home to a message on our recorder about 230pm stating they had no spots available for Saturday night.
We arrived on Sunday at 4:13 and we were immediately taken to our table. We were greeted by our server who's name we never did find out. She greeted us and took our drink orders, came back and gave us the specials, came back again and answered our questions.
I told her I had read the reviews and most people were talking about about the rib eye but what was her favorite. She gave us her opinion and we both decided to go with the petite size filet mignon because it was less steak than all the others. We also chose garlic mashed potatoes which looking at everyone else's meal they did too. Meal came with mixed vegetables and I asked her if I could get just broccoli and she said yes but that will be an extra $1 charge. I appreciated that. I got the mixed veggies and ate what I wanted then gave the rest to my husband. Also started out with a salad and rolls that were included in the meal. Steaks were cooked perfectly and were so tender. We were glad we chose the smaller cuts of meat 9 oz compared to 16 oz.. We also split a skewer of shrimp which was only 4 of them for an extra $14.
Half and hour or so after we arrived we heard a train blaring and lo and behold there was a BNSF train just feet from the door carrying fuselages to the Boeing plant.
Service was excellent, plates and glasses were removed right after being emptied. Water was frequently filled up. I think each server only had 4 tables to attend to so they were more attentive to you. She didn't force dessert on us either instead said is there anything else I can get you. She read off the dessert items off the top of her head and even brought a candle out on our chocolate torte when she found out it was our 37th anniversary. As more and more people came in it did get loud.
Free parking across street. Will probably be back for another special occasion but will plan ahead and make reservations a few days ahead.
My only negative about this place is that there is only 1 toilet for the men and women. I had to wait in line to use the women's as a girl was in there for several minutes. I was almost tempted to use the men's toilet but didn't.

Our second visit was very pleasant. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The menu is a bit limited with some out of the ordinary items. Be adventurous and give it a try! Huge wine selection and decent beer choices. We will be back.

Have lunch here several times a year, staff is always very friendly, generally no waiting and food gets served quick. Food is good, on par with other restaurants of this type but the rolls they serve are just fantastic - never had anything like them anywhere else. And of course while you're waiting to be seated or waiting for your meal, an endless supply of peanuts and of course, the shells get thrown on the floor. Given a choice of the other eateries in this area, I choose Jimmy Mac's just to get those rolls.

Really great place to get together with friends. Good service and the happy hour prices can't be beat. We got the $4.50 pretzel- soft and huge (comes with mustard, beer cheese sauce, cream cheese, syrup), curry wurst-$6 (comes with kraut, hot or cold potato salad or fries), 2 big chunks of braunschweiger with kraut, toasted bread pieces-$4.50. Excellent variety of German beers. Prost!!
Street parking but there is a public lot across the street

We enjoyed the food at Smoking Monkey Pizza (we had pizza and pasta) and also enjoyed the cool art on the wall (paintings of "smoking" monkey's). Also located in downtown Renton which is a quaint place to walk around.

My husband and daughter hit Torero's when we are down in Renton area for a movie or luncheon errands. We must go about three to four times a year. We have enjoyed our food every time. They serve generous portions and often we have to take a bit of our dish home for later. The waiters have always been friendly. The place is beautifully decorated and quite busy as it is very popular. There occasionally is a wait but it is well worth waiting for.

Most Authentic Pakistani Indian Restaurant in the Northwest. Well known for its Biryani, Tandoori Dishes (Lamb Chicken and Fish), Nihari, Tikka Masala, Haleem
I visited this place for dinner and food was really good. It offers some well known dishes like butter chicken, as well as some traditional Indian food I wasn’t very familiar with. An authentic Indian restaurant.

Just wow. Lots of choices and everything is labeled! No guesswork. Raw and cooked options available. Sushi galore... Pho... Mongolian grill self selection... even prime rib. The dessert selection is fantastic.... the chocolate fountain and fruit was my favorite. It truly is a feast.

It's very hard to find good vegan choices outside of Seattle. This restaurant is now added to our short list of go-to vegan restaurants. The food was delicious. The portions were a good size. The restaurant itself is attractive inside. Our only real complaint was that the service was pretty much non-existent. While there were several wait staff with a half filled restaurant, no one ever checked on us, refilled water, and we had to ask for boxes and our bill twice.
