Most diners had Reservations, but we were lucky to get a seat when a party cancelled. Service was very good and the savory crepes were a highlight for me. The savory crepes are also very healthy, as they contain buckwheat flour. For dessert, we had the flaming Calvados crepes. A fun little place, and not expensive.

We came here with high expectations due to comments from friends we know in Rennes. Made a reservation for dinner a few days before, and confirmed it was at the restaurant in ......
When we arrived to site, no reservation was recorded at our name to our biggest disappointment, in none of the two restaurants (not at all the quality standard you'd expect from a Michelin star restaurant). What's even worse is the excuse the guy at the reception provided after discussing for a couple of minutes, when we said the person on the phone had been a girl and showed on the mobile log the phone number of the restaurant to prove our call had not been a fraud: "ah ben moi je suis un garçon, pas une fille, donc c'était pas moi (well I'm a guy, not a girl, so it wasn't myself)".
I will never understand employees that don't get they work for a known company, and stupid actions like that and the lack of interest in 4 customers is just pitiful. I do not understand either companies with such name which can't pay attention to the customer treatment from some of their employees. Probably this review will get lost among plenty of good ones, just know that despite the Michelin star you're still only a name among plenty and poor resolution options will be provided in case of an issue taking place

Owner/chef David Etcheverry (formerly of Les Agapes in La Meziere) is joined at Le Saison restaurant in Saint-Gregoire, just north of Rennes, by wife Christine. Perfectly at home together, the pair have created something special a modern French restaurant blessed with integrity and a big heart. Its in a perfect central spot overlooking a park - a fact not missed in the design of Le Saisons airy dining room. The contemporary, rather refined space has a tempting Terrace, magnificent on a summers day. Basque-born David Etcheverry explores the seasonal culinary traditions of his adopted country with an infectious enthusiasm. The spirit-lifting smells, joyful tastes and loving presentation of his cooking awaken the gourmands soul in every Le Saison diner.
En route from La Rochelle to Cherbourg this was a real treat. The dinner was excellent - really delicious canapes through to petits fours. The service is charming and our room was very comfortable. I had never been in a 'couloir de nage' before - take your swimming things!

We celebrated there the birthday of my daughter. It was the second time we visited this restaurant. It is a simple place, no fussy decoration, calm with nice atmosphere. The staff was very polite and helpful. We ordered champaign (for the celebration) and then 2 of the Paris menus and one New York menu. The food was delicious. A small remark only for the sweets which were not at the level of the food, still nice though. The prices were really good for such a quality of food. We will visit again.

Passing by in France, a friend recommended this place to me. I am usually quite fussy with food but this time I really wasn't disappointed! the food was excellent! fresh food and typically french.
1 waitress and 1 chef which makes it a very friendly restaurant, the waitress was lovely, friendly and warm and the cook came to ask us what we thought about the food. the price was reasonable too.
I highly recommend it! this is my new favourite spot in Rennes.

We were looking for a laundrymat and spotted this small Thai-Lao restaurant in a small street. Thinking that it was be empty, as Renne was practically deserted, pubs were empty. Lo and behold, to our amazement, the restaurant was full. We bought take-away, and the food was surprising good. Spoke to the young lady and found out the chef was the mum. Her brother has another outlet in the town. However, I will go for mum's cooking anytime! :)

The galettes and crêpes (savory and sweet respectively, for reference) here are simply excellent. It's got a very welcoming atmosphere and the hostess was very nice and helpful. I recommend the crêpe called La Normande--it's topped with house made baked apple slices and cinnamon and doused in a local apple brandy that's been set on fire (this in French is called "flambée" and there are a few other options like it on the menu).

A nice little traditional restaurant near the city centre. With a warm and charming ambience, le Bistrot du quai offers you home-made cooking with fresh seasonal products. From Monday to Friday, you can taste traditional French “gastronomy”, classical dishes modernized or cuisine from around the world (slow cooked meat, fresh fish, cheese-topped dishes, crumbles, tarts and gourmet coffee) served with independent producers’ wines (from many regions of France). In the evening (Saturday included), you may reserve the restaurant only for you! The restaurant can be privatized from fifteen people up to forty for a buffet.
We found this restaurant through Tripadvisor while in Rennes, and made a reservation by phone an hour before lunch. From that moment, I had a good feeling about the place. The friendliness over the phone in spite of less than perfect French on my side, was inspiring.
Once arrived at the nice looking corner building, we were seated with the same friendliness as had been experienced by phone.
The choices were somewhat limited, but absolutely adequate, and the quality of the food and the presentation of the dishes was all top notch.
On a Monday, the place filled up to approx. a 90% level, which is quite impressive. Most people seemed to be local, and we appeared to be the only tourists there. But, we were treated as locals, and had a most pleasant meal - at a very reasonable price. Good value for money!
Having our summer house an hour away, we will definitely come back.

I was in Rennes for a week and my worst meal by far was at this restaurant. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing? On a positive note, the service was very good, the hostess and the waiter were attentive and kind. Because I'm bilingual, I noticed that some of the English translations on the menu would be completely useless to an Anglophone (for example, the English translation for the bacon that was in the crepe was "breast smoke"...I'm totally serious! I told the waiter that the translations were useless, and they seemed to be concerned about it and took what I had to say seriously). Anyway, I ordered the crepe of the day, which had bacon, blue cheese, and endives. The crepe was so incredibly salty (if you're going to put bacon and blue cheese together, both very salty foods, do not salt the endives/the sauce, or don't put these ingredients together in the first place) that it was borderline inedible. The dessert was fine, nothing special. I'll try this place again, but will order something else.

We ate here on a saturday night, and it was booked full, we had the entrecôte and it was very good. I had the cheese cake for desert, portions are just right, if you want to do antre main course and desert, but if you only eat the main course it is a bit light. We also had a bottle of wine, which was good at a reasonable price.
