Redwood City is a city on the San Francisco Peninsula in Northern California's Bay Area, approximately 27 miles (43 km) south of San Francisco, and 24 miles (39 km) northwest of San Jose. Redwood City's history spans its earliest inhabitation by the Ohlone people to being a port for lumber and other goods. The county seat of San Mateo County, it is the home of several technology companies such as Box, Informatica, Oracle, Evernote, Wealthfront, and Electronic Arts. At the 2010 census, the city had a population of 76,815. The Port of Redwood City is the only deepwater port on San Francisco Bay south of San Francisco. Redwood City is the location of the San Mateo County Jail, for both women and men. The Malibu Grand Prix long time landmark was recently demolished along with the city's only Mini Golf, Go-Kart, Video Game Arcade, and Batting Cages. Malibu Grand Prix's previous location is currently the construction site of a new additional Jail and Inmate housing facility. The city has a motto "Climate Best By Government Test" which is a reference to it being one of the top German scouted scientific climates and the city was one of the locations mapped by them during their testing and data collection. The Hetch Hetchy water pipeline runs through Redwood City and supplies a vast majority of the surrounding area with low grain (+/− 3 grains) rated water.

We recently visited Kabul Afghan Cuisine again. This is one of our very FAVORITE restaurants. The service is spectacular and the food is delicious. The flavors of the food are delicious and the meals are perfectly prepared. The portions are ample and there is an interesting ambience in the restaurant.

This urbane and upscale pizza and Italian small-plates place is something the Peninsula has been waiting for. I'm usually a traditionalist when it comes to pizza toppings, but even their more unusual versions--sausage with honey!--work like a charm and are absolutely delicious. Small plates are very good, too, although I thought the bare-bones meatballs would have benefited from a little tomato sauce. The owners are very hands on and extremely welcoming, and the lively vibe would be right at home in SF or even Wine Country. A great addition to the Peninsula dining scene!
Was served by Liam and was very pleased. The Burrata Plate was interesting and the pork meatballs were delicious. Very tasty! The little gem salad was well made and we enjoyed the pizza. Definitely first class. Will certainly return.

This is a nice restaurant for a dinner with friends or a cocktail at night. Nice patio, errs towards steakhouse type menu. Not great for vegetarians. Cocktails are really well made. It is always super busy, reserves days in advance. If it were not so busy, I’m not sure it would garner as much attention as it does, l think once it gathers a following, it snowballs on itself. Still, overall it’s a nice dinner place with deep banquets for a long dinner, or to hang out at the bar scene.

Angelica's has an indoor restaurant that transforms into a live music venue; it has outdoor dining on a charming wrap around patio with heat lamps; and it has a very nice bar. I love a late weekend lunch on the patio with friends and Angelica's "bottomless mimosas." I also love seeing music in a setting that feels like a nightclub. The food is usually very good. I would recommend the portobello sandwich or the sliders. From my experience, the main course salads are not big enough to fill you up if you are hungry. Though the food is not 5 star, it is very good. Last time I was there, the soup of the day was a lettuce soup, and it was exceptional. Highly recommend!

Set in the heart of downtown Redwood City, Donato Enoteca offers true and honest contemporary Italian cuisine from Executive Chef Donato Scotti that changes weekly determined by the freshest available seasonal produce. Homemade pastas, wood-burning oven pizzas, meat and fish courses are available, executed in an authentic yet modern way. The menu spans every region of Italy and incorporates artisanal products, such as fresh imported burrata, prosciutto, grappa and olive oil. Other in-house specialties include sausages, mostarda and lamb prosciutto. The wine list focuses on smaller-production boutique wineries from Italy, California and France.
Downtown Redwood City, CA is going thru a building boom phase. It's great that some timeless restaurants last...Donato is one of them...great indoor/outdoor eating area for small or large groups. Great for a business dinner. Extensive Italian menu and great beers/wines. Worth a visit while in Silicon Valley area.

Cuisinett’ Story Back in 2008, Geoffroy Raby had a vision to bring a new style of French Restaurant. Forget about your typical stereotype about French Restaurant, Geoffroy wanted to bring back the neighborhood café that he grew up with. A place where you can enjoy great food (and wine) at reasonable prices and in a casual atmosphere. Fast forward to 2011 and Cuisinett was born. Our team ‘s goal is to make you discover France through its Regional Cuisine and bring you on a delicious journey of French Comfort Food. A bientot Geoffroy and the Cuisinett Team
Helping to move our daughter and her family, so after a long day of packing, it was great to sit down to a delicious meal at Cuisinett. I had the Seafood Stew Basquaise with mussels, shrimp and salmon. VERY yummy!

Found this place as it was highlighted on an episode of ‘Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.’ The pastrami sandwich was wonderful. Tender and flavorful. The rye bread was thick and perfectly toasted.
Great vibe, diners inside and out front on the ‘patio’.
They have a second location in Menlo Park that we look forward to trying soon.

Went for a business meeting and was very pleased. Was greeted at the door and directed to self seating. Was crowded for lunch but seats were available. The décor is colorful and conversational. The menus match the interesting walls and ceiling. Lots of choices of breakfast and lunch options. The French Dip Sandwich was delicious. The BLT looked good too. Plenty of fries and other options. The tables for two were a little small but comfortable. The booths looked convenient for small business discussions. Prices were reasonable. Surprised not to be offered a dessert option. Service by Rick was memorable. Very friendly. Great Reno Aces hat. Will certainly return.

I met a friend here for dinner on a weeknight and was glad I made reservations via Open Table. The dining room was comfortable and lively. I got seated almost immediately. Our server approached us promptly to take our beverage orders. We shared and enjoyed the delicious beet salad and warm goat cheese. The menu was quite diverse and I had a tough time deciding. I finally selected the Sea Scallop and really am delighted that I did. My friend ordered the special and loved the halibut. We appreciated the generous portions. For dessert, we enjoyed the yummy apple, pear, and cranberry crisp. Our server was very attentive without being overbearing. Mistral is a wonderful place to catch up with old friends over a delicious meal.
