We spent our 33rd Wedding Anniversary at the Manley Wine Lodge and had meals at the Manley Wine Lodge Restuarant.
The staff are friendly and made our stay very enjoyable.
We were serenaded by their very own Michael Kenny the singing opera chef. What a treat. His food is amazing and plentiful.
Our room was very comfortable and the property is well kept and beautifully manicured.
A cute little chapel is also on site with a wedding venue.
We were blessed to see the resident Owl family, with mom and dad owl and 2 fluffy grey chicks.
We would recommend this accommodation to anyone wishing to get away from the rush of city life, and just enjoy the peace and quiet of the country.

We wanted to stop for a quick bite after being at Goudini and en route to Cape Town. We originally wanted to eat at Opstal but they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays unfortunately (it was Monday when we tried and found out), so we saw this place and decided to give it a try.
It was a very windy day and inside the café wasn't particularly cosy at all. It was very disappointing. But we stayed cos we were hungry and didn't know where else would be open.
We had the toasted cheese. It was about R55 if memory serves right. And for that you got two thin slices of brown bread with a smear of processed cheese and a sliver of tomato, toasted. Accompanied by a garnish/salad and oven chips dusted with what tasted like Aromat. It was not at all tasty and overpriced for what you got.
I got the sense that this place only keeps ingredients that can be frozen so that they don't have to be left with waste.
I definitely will not return, which is unfortunate because the service was very kind and friendly.

Bodega de Vinho is a perfect stop on your journey - alongside the Route 60, the smell of freshly baked pastries and breads are enough to tempt you. Gorgeous light meals and breakfasts are served. Kiddy friendly play gym and place for your dog to run around.
I am a regular, and yes, there has been a problem in the past year with service, I was pleasantly surprise yesterday with their service& a tasty Bobotie wrap! Their coffee has always been good! Affordable prices, trendy homemade food. Coxy fireplaces, red chairs on the inside, nice! What I do like alot is that one hardly wait long to be served. They know that most people are en route, needs a driving break but do not want to be kept waiting unnecessary. Well done Bodega De Vinho!

The hotel really needs to improve the standards/cleanliness of the rooms. We had ants in the bed and they were crawling all over us. When we reported it to the staff the next morning they asked why we didn't call them in the night, there are no telephones in the bedrooms!!!
They really must carry out spot checks to ensure rooms are clean and ant free before their guests arrive!

Steaks to leave home for.Chips/fries made with fresh potatoes - awsome stuff.Great variety of local wines and the coldest beer in Worcester. I hear they`re changing to a franchise group - big mistake as i`m not impressed with the existing franchise steakhouses.

We chose to eat at the bistro as we were staying close by and were feeling peckish. The Bistro looks nothing like the photo but perhaps its now moved away from the busy road mentioned in other reviews as we faced a very quiet one. It has a lovely mountain view and our jack russells were even permitted on the balcony alongside us as we were the only diners that day (thank you). The venison pie we each ordered was very enjoyable. I do recall some confusion about the available wine. We had asked for the cheaper Sauvignon Blanc and yet the more expensive one was brought to the table (a Reserve) with no mention of the lack of availability of the one we'd asked for. We very nearly ended up opening the wrong one and fortunately averted this expensive mistake when the word "Reserve" caught my eye. We opted for something else which was very enjoyable. A good place for a stopover meal, some good wine and a pretty view.

Opstal Estate is situated at the foot of the Slanghoek Mountains in the heart of the breathtakingly beautiful Slanghoek Valley on the Breedekloof Wine Route. The valley forms part of the Breede River Valley with Worcester as the closest, large town. We are a 7th generation family-run estate, well known for our hospitality and friendliness. Through this we would like to extend a warm invitation to all our wine & food loving friends to come and visit us on the Estate.
We can't wait to go back to this fabulous friendly restaurant. The views are gorgeous, the breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. We arrived late for breakfast in a big family party of 10 and the staff happily served us even though they were preparing for lunch. Thanks, Opstal...we'll be back!!

A good Banting burger with an exellent coffee made blind barrista! A simple lunch well presented with good service. Attached to the school of the blind now known as Kaleidoscope. A perfect place for lunch or breakfast. Sit outside in a fossil exhibition designed for the blind. A funky place! Well priced.

Jason's Hill is a private winery with superb wines and a unique view over the Slanghoek valley.
What a beautiful small restaurant in the picturesque Slanghoek Valley! We enjoyed a very tasteful lunch with our host's local - and very affordable - wine with a spectacular view over the valley and distant Mountains. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the service efficient and the food fresh and tasty. Won't pass Jason's Hill Restaurant whenever I happen to be in the Breedekloof or Slanghoek area again !
