"Konditori" is a Swedish, small town institution: baked goods, open-faced sandwiches, "paj" (pronounced "pie" and meaning quiche). Good coffee and--here at any rate--some really good tea options
Fricks is a super example and in a very, very, traditional Swedish village (the most amazing fiddler tradition!). Anyway, come in the mid-late morning and the find local "gubbar" (codgers) sitting around solving all the worlds problems (starting anew tomorrow, of course).
In the meantime, all the food is fresh (sandwiches and sandwiches displayed in cases).
Great, great

Our server--a young man--seemed totally clueless about the basic elements of being a good waiter. We had to go and find him to order and to request refills of water and other things. The entrecôte was very well prepared and generously apportioned. The ribs were surprisingly disappointing however. Dry and hard. The rökt öring (smoked trout) was unremarkable.

We had a delightful dinner here (four courses with wine package). All the courses, as well as the wines, were interesting and tasty. The cooking is a little avant-garde, trendy, and creative, without losing sight of time-tested traditions. The kitchen was run efficiently and allowed customers to decide how long they wanted to wait between courses. The weather was fine and we would have dined outdoors had it not been for the music which was played too loudly on the outdoor speakers. The decor inside is rustic and rather charming; the lovely view over the lake can be enjoyed from the tables nearest the windows, as well as from the outdoor Terrace.

A fine cafe serving home made sandwiches, cakes and drinks in the beautiful setting of this reconstructed village. Quiet and peaceful just outside the town, excellent service, friendly and welcoming staff. Don't forget to explore the village though - it's well worth spending some time here!

We had pizza here for the first time and it was the best pizza we ever had. "Superstars" contained for example proscuitto crudo, rucola, olives and blue cheese and was such a lovely combination of flavors. The old favorite "Hawaii" was also perfectly done. Taken together, the prices were quite modest for the great quality that we obtained. Will definitely return when in Rättvik again.

I really want to like this place, it's cute and the hodgepodge of mismatched furniture give a very charming vibe. But the coffee is truly awful and the staff is consistently unfriendly. I must remind myself not to come back here again. For visitors to Rättvik in the summer I suggest Nyfiket.

Rekommenderas varmt.

Agree completely with the previous review. Nice owner and staff, but the food is so so. It is the standard Swedish Chinese food. Deep fried pork, some kind of chicken in sweet and sour sauce, and beef pieces in vegetables, and of course possible to order combined as "three small dishes" like in all the other thousands of Chinese restaurants in Sweden. This restaurant does not however look like a Swedish Chinese restaurant, more like a meatballs and potato place, which is just fine. But bottom line is that the food is not particularly good, also compared to the many places with the identical menu.
Having said all this, not sure where to go instead. Checked out the alternatives around the corner and the lunch offerings were very limited. I'd go to Fricks cafe for some Sandwich which we usually do when stopping in Rattvik.
