The rooms are ok, liveable at most. No mosquito nets so beware. you really need some on this island. Staff are island boy rasta types. Cool dudes. No bookings allowed so don't bother trying. They are pretty rude about you trying to book as well. Electiricty cuts off at 7 AM and starts at 7 PM. One plus thing is that they have a really really good view of the beach and they are far away from the noise. I hate Perhentian for only having a walk in policy for getting rooms.

The island is generally quite pricey. So this place was one of two places I loved.
The place is located roughly in the middle of the long beach and coral beach and it is unmistakable as there is only 1 restaurant on the route between the Beaches.
The place is clean. Strong fans makes it a great place to chill out and they have chess boards to play with.
The food is good and price is cheap. Really cannot complain the place as they also have WiFi (slow but it works).
The turmeric chicken was amazing. Buy plain rice with it and you're ready for a tasty experience.

This restaurant serves great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner for great prices. It is the same sort of price as the other restaurants along Long Beach but better quality in my opinion. The service is excellent and staff very helpful. It's set back slightly from the beach but upstairs so has a good view. The restaurant doesn't serve alcohol (as with most other restaurants on Long Beach) but you also can't bring alcohol in. It has free wifi and they show a movie at 8pm every night.

Island food isn't very good usually, but Maya on Pulau Perhentian Kecil was great. They had good food and the folks running it are really nice. They don't allow alcohol, so the vibe is very family friendly. Some favorites were the plain roti with curry, vegetable fried rice, and the snickers shake (warning it's addictive!). The set bbq was better than the other restaurants on the beach as well.

I booked onto Besar as I wanted to see both Islands and this was the most economical option. I had an enormous bungalow which was very clean but really dated.
Food in the restaurant was okay but not cheap.
Wifi only works in the restaurant area if that's a deal breaker for you.
The restaurant/bar closes as soon as people finish dinner so it's not very sociable if you're not there with people you already know.

The most cozy, delicious, and chill cafe to hang out with friends, partner and family!
For Malaysia this place is definitely on the pricey side but I suppose it has a bit of a monopoly. Seats are lovely and comfy with big cushions. Great films on every night at 7:30pm. Staff are friendly, menu is good. Food was nice but quite expensive, cocktails were great and cake was yummy. Loved that basically if you got your table by 7:30pm you were clearly there for the evening and you were never made to feel like they were rushing you. I was on my own on a table for 4 (there wern't any small ones I wasn't just being selfish' and they didn't mind. Great for a treat night if you are on a budget or if you want a nice cocktail!

I had low expectations of this place, but this just takes the cake as the worst place I've stayed in anywhere ever. The room was like something out of a horror movie and the first thing we said to ourselves was "WTF". It felt like I was being thrown in prison and denied basic human rights.
The window was missing a pane, the "wallpaper" torn but no one bothered to take it off. There was just one light bulb in the room. The bathroom made me gag for days. No handles on the door either. And it didn't have a sink or even hooks to hang your towel on. The bed sheet looked like it was never changed, the blanket was a thin rag, and so were the towels. No mirror anywhere, but probably best to not look yourself into one wondering what you did to deserve such an accommodation.
Mosquitoes came into the room through the holes in the bathroom wall as well as the missing window pane. They didn't provide any mosquito repellent so we had to buy them ourselves (the kind you burn where it smokes both you and the mosquitoes to death).
Open the window and you're also greeted by the "river" in the back, which is full of trash.
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. What a disgrace to such a beautiful island. This place will give me nightmares for years to come.

Went for dinner many times during my stay. Little bit more expensive than other restaurants but food good. Nice setting. Staff good and friendly especially Oscar and Ryan. Service can be a little slow but quality of food makes up for it. Recommend the seafood pasta and brushetta. Seafood
Platter for two excellent . If not on a budget recommended.

OhLaLa offers the complete diving experience. Situated on the idyllic Long Beach on Perhentian Kecil, we offer dive courses for novice as well experienced divers. OhLaLa has limited rooms as well as a bar and restaurant serving European dishes. Enjoy the crystal clear waters and meet new friends from all over the world.
After trying various local stalls, Oh LaLa definitely offers the best food and the portions are worth the prices! My favorite was the margarita pizza, which was incredibly cheesy, and the baked potato wedges, which were the best I've had in a while. I've been to Oh La La in 2013 so can say with confidence that the quality of the food remains the same and that their pizza is still the best dish on offer!

Attracted by the beautiful Terrace on the beach, we stopped here for a quick lunch. The menù offers local food and burgers/sandwiches: we opted for one of these. The costs are high compared to the average of the place, but the dish was hearty and very tasty, unusual and interesting combinations; it also included fries, salad and sauces. There is also the possibility to order alcoholic beverages, including cocktails and wine, a rarity on the island.
