Explore lovely, compact Puerto Varas on foot, the best way to take in views of Osorno Volcano and the wooden colonial homes built by German immigrants in the early 1900s. Several are designated as national monuments. Located on the shores of Lago Llanquihue, Chile's second-largest lake, the village is the low-key antidote to the Lake District metropolis of Puerto Montt and serves as a jumping off point for fly-fishing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding and sea kayaking excursions.

We stayed at this hotel for our few days in Puerto Varas and so used their restaurant on several occasions.
We chose to dine here on our first night and found the food to be very good. My crab gratin starter was the highlight for me, as my seafood risotto for main was rather too salty for my taste (my taste buds were still not fully attuned to South America seasoning levels). Breakfast was very good too and the bar likewise (they stock Chester IPA). The service throughout was efficient and friendly.
A real delight though was the fantastic outlook out on to lake and across to Volcan Orsono in the distance.

Had a really nice crab and avocado starter here. This was followed by a mains of sea bass, rice and veg. Earlier a basket of food had been provided as an amuse bouche. The food was enjoyable, our waitress was great - friendly and efficient, the wine was good and it was all reasonably priced, I highly recommend this place.

Chosen by our tripadvisor clients as the best steak restaurant in the city of Puerto Varas. Come and enjoy the taste brought of "countryside to the grid".

.
We went with high expectations given the reviews but were underwhelmed. Nice room and decent service. The pumpkin soup was excellent but the steaks were disappointing. Perhaps we should have gone for better quality than the rump steak but it was not as tender as it should have been. Also, the chips were dull! We expected better.

The food was extremely tasty and the homely feel of the restaurant was inviting and enjoyable. The pace was relaxed and the room was not crowded.

Bravo Cabrera is the most happening place to eat and drink in Puerto Varas. It is the local's favourite and a great trendy spot for lunch, dinner and vibrant evenings with drinks & music, offering a varied menu at reasonable prices. The menu includes sharing platters, luxury sandwiches, ceviches, mud-oven pizzas, grilled meat and more... Everything is prepared with fresh local ingredients and cooking techniques authentic to the south of Chile. There's a wide offer of national, international & artisan beers, an extensive wine list and a cocktail menu to complete this wonderful gastronomical experience! Enjoy the cozy atmosphere & interior, the couches next to the fireplace, and the excellent service from the staff. They'll make sure you eat well and that you take the best memories home from your Chilean visit. Bravo Cabrera is located on the banks of Lago Llanquihue with a breathtaking view of the Osorno Volcano at only 15-min walk from downtown via the coastal boulevard.
This restaurant is a lively place with indoor as well as outdoor Seating. Inside the atmosphere is warm and relaxed. There is an English menu. However, remember that some of the "starters" are either a full meal for one person, or starters for 4-5 people. Portions are generous, and the service good, just remember that the food is cooked to order and so this is not a good choice for a quick meal.
Besides the large selection of tap and bottled beer there is a good selection of wines. I was stunned when the server recommended the cheapest bottle on the list. I was further amazed that this bottle was world class.
The food was delicious pub fare, well presented, and definitely a good value.
This restaurant is also a good choice for diners who want to start dinner early.

Restaurant and pizzeria. Come and eat our delicious pizzas, pastas, meats, salmon, chupes, ceviches and salad.
We were wandering around Puerto Varas looking for a simple meal,my husband fancied a beer and a lot of the cafes don't serve alcohol. This place looked busy and they served pizza and pasta as well as some local dishes. The pizzas looked very substantial so plumped for a spaghetti bolognaise and lasagna, while we were waiting they bought us some delicious warm rolls and salsa. The food was tasty and the portions generous although we were still able to share a banana split for desert. The service was good and our waitress friendly the meal with a beer and a vaina cost 24,000 which was good value for money by Chilean standards. There was a steady turn over of customers so it was entertaining to see what other people were eating,a fun evening. Just one thing we were short changed when we paid the bill, it didn't cause a problem and the mistake was speedily rectified.I would hope that it was genuine but it happen a few times in Chile so it pays to check your change.

A chilean southern hideaway where the cuisine takes advantage of the local products adding an oriental touch; it offers wonderful dishes with a magnificent view to all of Puerto Varas.
We were lucky enough to have been recommended El Humedal for dinner. The food is fantastic. We had the curries which were flavorful and delicious. The desserts were extraordinary.
