Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpweɾto βakeˈɾiso moˈɾeno]) is the capital of Galápagos Province, Ecuador. It is located on the southwestern coast of San Cristóbal, the easternmost island in the archipelago, and is the capital of San Cristóbal Canton. It was founded by General Villamil Playas in the mid-19th century, and takes its name from President Alfredo Baquerizo Moreno (1859–1951). Today, fishing is the main activity of the locals, but tourism is on the increase along the waterfront with numerous hotels and shops.

Stopped by for a light lunch. Attentive staff, cold beer, good fresh food prepared to order. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble. Corner location open sided, with a roof for shade. Located one block off the quayside, away from the sound and smell of the sea lions.
To be recommended.

Came here in October 2017 with my boyfriend. This place is across from the San Cristobal sign near the water. The food was pretty good and had decent price. We were able to easily find vegetarian options and the pizza was pretty good too.

It is our last night on the island. We took our time to explore the best treat for the night. We walked by the harbor and checked out various menus of the restaurant on the strip. We got here and gave it a try. We...MoreThank you so much for your kind comments, we hope to see you again!

We were recommended this restaurant by our host on San Cristobal. He said it was the best restaurant on the island, and it was the best meal we had the 12 nights on the Galapagos. The ceviche was outstanding. But the fish was to die for. The owner prepared tuna 2 ways. The sauces were amazing and the fish right off the boat. Unbelievable all around. A must for dinner when on San Cristobal. Stop by during the day to make our reservation.

When you look up at the building, it is not so pleasant, really. The sides are covered with white plastic. There are plenty of banana bunches hanging and you have to climb some stairs to the eating area passing by some vegetable garden with lettuce, chili and basil. Tables and chairs are plain and not very attractive. The bathrooms are clean and there is an area for washing hands with soap and warm water. Imagine that! But if you come here for food, it is delicious! The meal comes with fresh delicious papaya and passion fruit. So delicious! The portions are generous with dessert.
Oh, and ALL those hanging bananas are for your eating pleasure. Eat to your heart content.

The menu has burgers and local food as well tacos. My husband ordered burger while I ordered bandejitas - corn and grilled meat (good portion, not too large). The juice was freshly made without additional sugar. Service is good and not as slow as other restaurants in San Cristobal that we've been to. I will more likely to return to this restaurant.

We had dinner in this small local restaurant where they serve up the days fresh catch.
We shared a seafood platter that came with salad, beans and rice. The fish was most deinately the best we had tried on the Islands. The fish and prawns were perfectly cooked unfortunately the octopus was a little on the tuff side. Everything else was good including the wine and cold beer.

I read a past review about the awesome empanadas, so I went. I orderd 1 chicken and 1 shrimp...$2 and $3 respectively. And, a bottle of water. Total came to $7.50. The empanadas were about 5 inches long, deep fried, and the fillling was just the meat, nothing else. When I took a bite, all kinds of juice came spilling out. I thought it was cooking oil, but the lady puts a slab of butter inside that's supposed to melt when fried...but it was till there, whole. So, all it was, was a deep fried pasty with meat inside. Nothing special at all.

This small restaurant has 4-5 tables inside and 2 outside. It is hot inside but because it was a set menu for 4$ a person it was fast to get your food which with kids means everything. We have an amazing chicken soup and then the main was fries, chicken or fish and a small salad with a glass of juice. I would recommend if you want a no frills meal.
