Went as couples tonight. The food was creative, tasty and well presented. However, when we asked about side dishes; as there were none on the menu, we were told our mains came with vegetables. They did and they were good, but they were so minimal. We needed more to complete the meal. Desert of panacotta was also small and not up to par.

This restaurant is out of the way, but worth the trip. Located about an hour outside of Milan in a quite suburb, you would never expect from it's facade the food they are capable of preparing. Hands down one of the top 3 dinners of my life, easily eclipsing 1,000 + Euro dinners at places like La Grand Vefour. I highly, highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that really is into food and likes raw fish.
This restaurant is as authentic as it comes. Run by a small family - the father the host and waiter, mother and son in the kitchen - their focus is solely on the food, not the ambiance.

Good food and good personal service. It is however a good idea to ask prices of specials before you order the; we were quite surprised to find out the price of the lobster, which was very good by the way but also not cheap. But, a good place to have dinner.

It was the second time that we could afford this fancy restaurant at the outskirts of Varese. One of the reasons was definitely also the fact that they offer gluten-free food/pasta but the main reason is the high quality of the food, the service, how the table is decorated, etc. Only when being seated inside, you see that they would need to improve a bit the interior (for ex., wall painting).
The food is definitely excellent, the service perfect. What should we say more: if you know a bit how to distinguish ordinary (good) food from extraordinary (good) food, then you should try this restaurant. It is worth the money (though you have to leave some amount of it ...).

The location is nothing special, but inside the ambience is quite pleasant.
Food is very good: excellent risotto prepared in many ways, good pastas and main courses served in generous sizes. In once occasion actually the portions were a bit too large.
Anna is very charming: welcoming and kind with all guests as well as professional.
Prices are correct. All in all a very positive experience.
It is often very busy, so Reservations are recommended.

Due to its high rating we decided to drive away and have a meal experience at this place… Located in a very small town, can struggle to find a space to park the car IF the restaurant is full… there are two dining rooms (we...MoreThanks! Just a question: If the quality of the dishes is good and also the service, because we only deserved 4 balls? What is it due to? Help us understand and if possible improve. Thank you

Visited a customer nearby and this place was recommended by our colleague. We were not disappointed. A very good two course set lunch for €15. We started with Risotto and I then had a Milanese with vegetables. The quantity and quality were just right, The wine was chosen by the waiter for us to compliment the meals and it was good. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would really like to go back for an evening meal. Mr Customer, when do you want us back?

Restaurant with lake view free parking
Followed tripadvisor and booked here for 5 for dinner. Charmingly attentive staff made us welcome with a nice table. The menu is not particularly extensive, but it is quite ambitious. A really good mozzarella and tomato amuse bouche, great grissini and lovely breads started us off. Two of us went for the meat menu. The 12 year old shared some foie gras, which was superb. The ravioli starter with truffles was outstanding. The spaghetti with shrimp and anchovies was ok, perhaps a little "fishy" but the veal was great. Desserts - cassata, hazelnut ice-cream or a strawberry and coconut confection all disappeared. The wine list was good and the recommendation was thoughtful and not self serving. The ambiance is nice - the view of the lake is slightly obscured and there is a bit of noise from the road but the food was the best we have had in the region. It is definitely worth the trip outside Streza, and with parking on site, easy-peasy. Our party was a senior, two adults, a teen and a 12 year old, and all enjoyed it greatly. Thoroughly recommended.

During our recent week long stay in Italy, my husband and I agree that Ristorante Tradate was the single most outstanding dining experience of our trip. The menu is exquisite, and each and every item we ordered was exceptionally prepared. Our server was attentive, warm and clearly committed to the quality of our meal experience. The wines we enjoyed were amazing....dessert to die for! The owner came and sat with us at the end of our meal, and was so gracious. The décor and ambiance are almost as remarkable as the food. Simply lovely. Do NOT miss this restaurant, it is one of the best we have ever experienced.

Cozy atmosphere for a delicious down-to-earth snack food. Not to mention the variety of beers. I got a "piadina" Sandwich with cured ham and mozzarella: simply awesome. And topped it off with a good draught belgian beer. I waited with a friend of mine the rest of the crew for half an hour and I felt like being home, because of the simple and rural style. The right place to hang out and chit chat all night long.
