Our wood-burning grill makes us believe in a culinary preparation par excellence such as the Spanish lamb. 1/4 roast lamb in a wood oven, accompanied by baker's potatoes, is our most faithful distinctive. Without forgetting other creations like our mushrooms and boletus of season, juices of the Shore of Jalón or cod club ranero.
This restaurant is owned by the same people who own Hotel Medina Salim, where we were staying.
As with many Spanish restaurants, it does not open till 21.00 in the evening. So we sat outside on one of their bar tables and got cracking on a bottle of wine, that we could finish over dinner
The downstairs is the bar and a "good food" shop where we bought some dried mushrooms
Upstairs is the restaurant, where we enjoyed our meal. In particular I would highlight a Mushroom starter with a Pedro Ximinez sauce. I would not criticise the restaurant at all, but it was very quiet the night we were there, and perhaps lacked a bit of atmosphere.
Again, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, and would eat there again if we were in the village.

Our gastronomic offer is quite wide, in the restaurant have a traditional menu suggestions kitchen find the market. In The cafeteria meals, sandwiches, toast , rations, etc.
We only stopped here for coffee but the place was lovely. The man behind the counter was so nice and friendly we had a slice of cake each and would have stayed for lunch but the weather was so very cold we had to move on.

We went there for lunch on our way to Zaragoza. The owner was very kind and professional. He illustrated all the dishes and ingredients thoroughly. All the ingredients were genuine and of the highest quality. The oil, the asparagus, the cheese.. Fantastic. The wine was also excellent. A Navarra rose of the highest quality. Would gladly repeat the experience.

You must go to Soria (great province to explore in Spain), but you definitely need to have a meal at "Baluarte". Oscar received the best-chef award of the entire Castilla y Leon and if you are lucky to get a reservation to his restaurant, you will know the award was indeed deserved!
His restaurant is contemporary & elegant, trendy & appealing and the 13-course meal served with various types of beer (you can order wine instead if you want) is a great hit! You anxiously await the next dish while still enjoying the flavors, colors, creative presentation of your current one. My husband and friends had the beer but I ordered a Ribera del Duero (of course) and now I love 'Antidoto' (a great red from 2011).
The service impeccably punctual, friendly and efficient by Oscar's wife and other 2 equally attentive staff. The ambience was very cozy & welcoming.
Our friend & his wife celebrated their daughter's First Communion in May at Baluarte and visit there everytime they can. We were so thankful that they invited us to eat there: we live in NY & spend our summers in Italy and always enjoy a great meal. A 'must go' restautant in Spain.
Thank you Oscar Garcia for saying hello in our way out! Can't wait to go back to your wonderful restaurant.

If you like wild mushrooms, this is THE place to enjoy them! Out of mushroom season, it´s still a very enjoyable restaurant, with a great value for money gastronomical menu. Some wines they serve here are actually less expensive than what you can buy them for in most wine shops, so check it out. According to me, one of the better if not the best restaurant in this part of Spain!

We were the last in and late, but what amazing food, and very reasonably priced, excellent service and by genuine, very kind...MoreThank you for your time, by typing in tripadvisor in your stay in El Aljibe. When you want, we are here!!! Thank you.

Well, it wasn't that quick. But it was good. Started with a mixed salad. Better than most. The tuna high quality, the asparagus was thick an long, the hard boiled eggs were still warm from cooking. I was happy because I knew that even if my second course turn out to be a failure, I would not go hungry.
Now way was this a concern? Well, I had asked if it was true that the menu was strictly for two and not one. The answer that I got was that it was, but the ? was available for one. Know idea what it was, but my waiter seemed to think that it was just as good a deal. So being brave I told him to bring it on. What I got was the front leg of a milk fed calf. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It took a while to consume, so my plan for a quick lunch went astray, but I was not complaining.
The restaurant is busy. Be patient. The staff has a plan and they will get to you and treat you well.

We picked this restaurant through Trip Adviser. Excellent restaurant, with delicious and unpretentious food, huge portions and lunch menu for 12.50€, wine included! Amongst a family of six, we tried almost everything on the lunch set menu and they were all good. Efficient and warm service. A memorable meal!
