Eight of us in our family went to Don Miguel's several days ago and we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. One would not think you could find high quality Mexican food in Providence Forge, but we did! All dishes were very ample, freshly prepared, served steaming hot and with a fun flair by the wait staff. This family owned and operated place is a real gem. The menu is very extensive, so there is something for everyone.

We visited this recently opened restaurant last week. Outstanding food, I would like to write a review.for you.
If visiting one of the James River plantations or riding on the bike path, one should consider stopping at the Courthouse Grill for a meal. If one is staying in Williamsburg and would like a scenic 35-40 minute drive, this is a good destination. The staff are extremely friendly, the atmosphere pleasant, the food delicious, and the prices good. The crab cakes were much tastier than what we ate at a more expensive restaurant in Williamsburg.

This Dairy Queen is ideally located just off Interstate 64 making it an ideal pitstop for travelers. It is always staffed well and adjacent to a convenience store and gas pumps so it is a routine stopping place for me when traveling through the area.

This was our 1st visit. We both had the Aspen Italian Burger. It was very tasty. We did think it was a little pricey since sides were extra. We were happy to see they did have outside seating because we enjoy eating outdoors. Everyone was friendly and they checked regularly to see if we needed anything. Overall a great experience. We will be back.

My wife being Italian , suggest we eat Italian food out a couple times a month. We enjoy trying different Italian restaurants in the Greater Richmond area. Walkers Dam Grill is a great choice for the real thing. We both ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. The homemade noodles were excellent. The meatballs were a little firm for my taste. I would still recommend Walkers Dam Grill as a must try Italian restaurant.

Patsy's is a classic small town restaurant with the typical small town menu. The food is REALLY with very reasonable prices. The service is friendly, fast, and good.

My wife and I were staying at Ed Allen’s campground and having arrived late, decided to take the advice of the receptionist and try the Lakeside Restaurant. After dropping off our luggage and acquainting ourselves with the general layout of the campground we drove the short distance to the restaurant.
Entering the establishment you couldn’t help but feel the ‘local’ vibe of a struggling business. We seated ourselves near the entrance close to the cash register. There were 2 female servers catering to a group sitting in the middle of the restaurant, next to the bar. Country music along with AC/DC (Back in Black) played in the background and the clientele looked weathered and worn out.
Eventually a server approached us (after greeting a young couple sitting behind us). Handed us each menus and asked for drink preferences. Meanwhile the other server was having conversations with several customers while the bar tender was serving a growing number of people sitting at the bar. After ordering drinks (Beer and Wine) we took in the atmosphere and patiently waited for our drinks and to make our dinner selections.
It would be a while before our server reappeared (she was doing double duty attending to other customers and on several occasions was distracted on her way to our table). At this point my wife was starting to get irritated. Our drinks arrived and we ordered dinner. My wife made mention her wine (Merlot) was less than exceptional (bottle had clearly been uncorked for a while) and tasted flat. Apparently this is an acceptable practice to the returning clientele as our server didn’t seem to know how to react to this comment and simply seemed to ignore it.
Sometime later my dinner choice (Pizza) arrived along with my wife’s Chef’s salad. The pizza was okay – nothing notable, however my wife was surprised and slightly dismayed that her ‘Chef’s Salad’ consisted of slices of sandwich processed ham and Turkey rolled with velveta cheese then sliced and unevenly spread over iceberg lettuce with bottled dressing poured into a small plastic serving container. Not exactly the description on the menu “Chef's Salad a ham and Turkey lovers special treat, try it with our homemade ranch dressing”.
Meanwhile more locals were arriving and bellying up to the bar as we waited for our server to return and check on us. We waited in vain and eventually I had to flag her down and ask for the bill. As I paid the bill at the cash register I was told to return next Saturday as there would be a live band and the restaurant would close at 2 AM (instead of 9 PM).
All things considered the experience was okay, the service marginal at best, and the food less than exceptional. On the other hand, if you’re looking to slam some beers or shots on a Saturday night and eat bar food, this would be a great choice.

We tried sushi here for the first time & LOVED IT! Prices are okay- a little high but other sushi places near by are higher... plus it was delicious and good sized rolls so worth the money. I loved seeing the owners interact with the few customers that were in the restaurant when we were there! We will be going back, and will also try the BBQ too (but so hooked on their sushi).

We were happy when JAB's opened because we missed going to one of our favorite breakfast places in Providence Forge. The staff is very friendly and very efficient and the food was really good. Looking forward to stopping by for lunch in the near future.
