Pringle Bay (Afrikaans: Pringlebaai) is a small coastal town of ca. 1600 inhabitants in the Overberg region of the Western Cape, in South Africa. It is situated at the foot of Hangklip, on the opposite side of False Bay from Cape Point. The town and surrounds are part of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO Heritage Site. The bay is named after Rear-Admiral Thomas Pringle, of the Royal Navy, who commanded the naval station at the Cape in the late 1790s.

A group of four, we had dinner on a Sunday night, which meant an option of two mains - steak, or prawns. The small restaurant was fully booked (about 24 people I am guessing).
Our hostess Jacqui was lovely and friendly. A lovely salad started our meal and both steak and prawns were good. Unfortunately, the chef is renowned for one thing - you don't get to tell him what you would like to eat - he'll tell you what you would like to eat as well as how it will be done.
I suspect this is his "thing", his "party trick" if you will - and some people may find it amusing. We found it simply tiresome. Arrogant chefs are not "my thing".
For this reason only I will not return.

Boutique restaurant in Betty's Bay. Open mostly for dinners and Sunday lunches. Times change according to season.
A complete new interior (crisp and soft tones), new food (see below) and new owners.
Excellent food. The best pork belly I’ve ever had. Full flavor meat, melting soft with the absolute perfect crisp crackling on top. The crackling wasn’t separate, it was part of the meat offering. A creative pure genius.
Service was excellent, friendly, real and incredible.
The clientele was a whole new mix of local and newcomers. This says a lot about the restaurant. Booking ahead helps.
A wonderful food experience. Serious competition and a hands down repeat place.

We visited Perigators while on holiday in the area in Dec 2016. It has a laid back atmosphere and the staff truly accommodated our 4-generations of family. They brought a baby chair and moved my elderly mother to more comfortable Seating. We ordered pizzas sharing-style and we all had a bit of everything. Pizzas were tasty, thin-crusted with fresh ingredients and all had a very good time. The adjoining bar with live music adds to the welcoming atmosphere.

We only had coffee here but I found the waitress unsmiling and unfriendly. Perhaps she was having a bad day. Not my problem. She practically threw the menu down and immediately asked us what wanted to drink. There was no indication on what was available on the menu to drink. Either way we ordered 2 black coffees which was R32.00. My husband gave her R40 and she said that she had no change. NO CHANGE IN A RESTAURANT!!! Seriously. He said it felt like a shakedown. Eventually she produced R7 of which he took R5. We will not be back. Fun decor though, I'll give them that.

Simplicity meets elegance, complimented by local cuisine that is prepared with flair and passion. Kick off those shoes and enjoy what this little coastal village has to offer.
We arrived late for supper: party of ten including kids at 20h00. They said they could not help us with food or even takeaways - no other restaurant/shop open at that time except driving to Cape Town which is >1 hour away! we left and felt upset - commented that maybe this was due to our Colour!! I think they heard our comments because we were called back and then suddenly treated like royalty!! Excellent food, wonderful service and suddenly atmosphere was so warm. Everything was very tasty from starters to desserts.

Really loved the decor and vibe here... ... A place where a traveler sits down to eat before he rests his head... It's not often that you come across some wholesome and tasty food when you're on the road. Def the place to eat at...More?✅

We are a small family restaurant, passionate with the traditional Greek cuisine for years. Our vision is to introduce everyone to the original spices and the authentic Greek flavors. The fresh ingredients, beautiful seaview and warm welcoming atmosphere are some of our qualities. Here at the Whaling Station Restaurant you can experience the world-known mediterranean Greek cuisine and our exquisite wine list. The Whaling Station Restaurant got its name from the original Whaling Station which was operational nearby during the early 1900's, the remains can still be seen at Stony Point. The Whaling Station Restaurant is the only place where the original photo's of the Whaling Station can be viewed.
The Whaling Station restaurant has great Greek food every time we visit them. The menu is very interesting with food choices for everyone. All meals are fabulous with over generous portions and well priced. Super friendly serviceThank you for taking the time to review us ! We are excited that you liked the Greek food and we will look forward to welcome you again in our restaurant in the near future.!!

With panoramic views of the sea and the Mountains from inside the restaurant or outside on the deck, Jack's brings you fine home cooked fare prepared with the freshest of local produce. Whether it is a freshly baked croissant, our hand rolled pasta made with free range eggs or a decadent dessert you can be certain of a delictable experience. We are fully licensed and have a passion for coffee that is reflected in our diverse drinks menu.
We come to South Africa every year during the British Winter and one of the first places that we always visit is Jack’s in Betty’s Bay. We don’t just visit once during our stay by the way, we visit several times because we love the drive along the coast from Gordon’s Bay which is one of the most spectacular pieces of coastline you will ever see. The biggest draw however is the lovely, warm welcome that we always receive from Laura, the balcony we sit on overlooking Betty’s Bay and the food that is served up.
We have already visited a couple of times on this trip, once for coffee and cake and the second time for lunch. If anybody has read a previous review of mine about Jack’s, you will realise that I am a devotee of their amazing fruit cake which I always accompany with the excellent coffee they serve. I can’t look beyond it because every mouthful is a delight.
As for the fish and chip lunch we had, well it was superb with a locally sourced piece of hake, set off with super fries and vegetables. Faultless and all enjoyed on the cafe balcony which provides wonderful views over the town and the sea.
I could wax lyrical about Jack’s some more but rather than do that, take a trip there and on the way, stop off to see the penguin colony which for me is far better than the one at Boulders Beach.
You will gather from my review that we love Jack’s.
