Best restaurant in an old gas station. Pulled pork and smoked sausage are my favorites here. The “hog heaven” sandwich is pure bbq happiness.

We stopped here on a road trip, craving Kansas City BBQ. Jack Stack did not disappoint. Service and food were outstanding. Highly recommend the beef burnt tips and cheesy corn. Both outstanding. Appetizer portions are huge. We loved both the fried mushrooms and cornbread. 5 thumbs up!

Cafe Provence really has an impeccable reputation throughout Kansas City. After hearing so many wonderful things about the restaurant, I finally had the opportunity to visit myself and now full understand why it one of the city's best. Our group of four had the perfect evening, and plan to make a habit of dining here. First of all, our server, Angus was one of the absolute best host we have ever had. He really went above and beyond to make our dinner outstanding. Although we love wine, we are not as familiar with French selections, yet he directed us to an extraordinary bottle, in fact we ended up having a second. Furthermore, he helped guide us through our menu selections, and we all absoluetly loved what we had. The appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts were all on par with the finest places that we have dined. In addition, the atmosphere is incredibly charming. I regret that it has taken me so long to visit, however it is undoubtedly my new favorite!

BRGR KITCHEN + BAR brings you a fresh adaptation of the most classic restaurant concept around. The hamburger was born and bred in America as a convenient way to eat on the go, but it’s grown up a bit, and has become our country’s favorite food. Imagine those original burgers from classic burger joints, recreated using 21st century methods, and you have BRGR’s modern burger. BRGR (the owners’ initials) is bringing “the modern burger joint” into the neighborhood. Considering the current economy and the popularity of the burger, the owners, Gaylin and Roberts, decided to bring you a value-oriented culinary experience for the grown-up burger lover. At BRGR Kitchen + Bar expect to get great food made with fresh ingredients, focused service, and a little reverence for the classic American burger.
Besides barbeque, lately I’ve been in search of a good hamburger. Today I tried BRGR Kitchen & Bar.
Upon entering, you’ll find a casual, utilitarian design with high top, long and regular tables. Dining in the late afternoon provided low traffic and the ability to enjoy my meal without feeling rushed.
When I stated to my waitress, Alyssa, that this was a first-time visit, she immediately made me feel welcome as she explained the menu, and her top picks. I decided on the Steakhouse Burger and since the menu is a la carte, I had to order fries separately. A side note; they make their own ketchup and mustard.
When my food arrived, this is what was presented, Hatfield signature beef special blend, roasted mushrooms, onion straws, Wisconsin white cheddar, watercress and steak sauce on a brioche bun. The burger? Insane! Cooked medium well as requested, the meat was tender with an unusual, flavorful taste. The fries are presented in a tin measuring cup, giving way to a whimsical, chat piece.
For those looking for something different, chicken, fish and vegetarian options are available. Looking for something gluten-free? They can handle that too.
Even the restroom area is cool as the frosted doors alternate, male, female on one side of the room and a common wash station welcomes one and all.
Overall: BRGR is worth a return visit. Maybe I’ll try the Number 3, medium well, tater tots… sorry, that’ll be another review.

If you're into chocolate then this is the place for you. Everything is made the old fashioned way, with lots of care and attention given to each item. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate and fudge....so much to choose from. Don't forget to try the popcorn brittle, once you start eating it, you can't stop. Stop by and treat yourself.

An award-winning restaurant from Chef Carl Thorne-Thomsen in Kansas City.
A business colleague and I visited here on a lazy but warm Saturday evening. While our reservations were 30 minutes out, we were able to be sat promptly with our choice of inside or outside. We choose outside.
Wanting to be culinarily adventurous, we decided to try to the prix fixe menu. It was incredible. The courses kept coming and were appropriately portioned. After about an hour and a half, we were both full and happy.
While on the more expensive side, it was definitely worth it.
