first night in prades after long hours of travel, we were looking for something good but not too heavy. the Vietnam was great. the spring rolls [NOT the "rouleau printemps" which is something different altogether] were crisp and tasty, the chicken/beef/shrimp in bechemal delicious, the crevettes ok/good. for deserts: sorbets for one, beignets aux pommes the other- both delicious. we had a demi-litre of wine and a carafe of water as well. we left feeling quite satisfied, but not overly stuffed. we might well return before this visit is over.

Went here for quick dinner with the family. Nice salads, good veggie choices, lovely desserts and cheap pichets of wine. Service was a tad slow and normally not a problem but we were pushed for time for once. Would recommend this and eating in the back patio was lovely

Friendly welcome, food good but rather small portions for amount charged. For the menu at 29 euros we started with a few anchovies on a thin piece of pastry with a small, but tasty salad, followed by 3 very tiny pieces of cod (a few centimetres across), with a lovely sauce and a few vegetables, 2 thin slices of local cheese were next, and to finish was a small meringue with cream and fresh fruit dotted across the top. For the menu at 20 euros we started with a vegetable salad which was a piece of bread with some sort of cheese with radishes arranged on the top and served with a salad, the next course was a delicious pork brochette with the same few veg as in the 29 euro menu. Certainly not the best meal we have had in France.

Sitting in a small mountain village outside Prades, this modern restaurant is a revelation. The presentation and flavours of the food are exquisite and the ambience of the surroundings, both inside and out, delightful.
One small gripe - our children's meals were served before our starters, so they were waiting for their next course (dessert) before we had started our main meal.

After Reading some of the critics here, I must say we where quite scared of going. After driving a few miles up the road, we were thinking we had the wrong address... the experience was unusual. The hotel restaurant is located in this remote village on the Canigou hillside. it's a quiet and beautiful location with nice walks around. The hotel rooms look less contemporary than the pictures on the website, the rooms are comfortable but a bit noisy and tacky. The food was excellent, the chef is classical but everything is perfectly cooked and executed, perfectly fresh and he really cares for what he is serving. The service is very good and the hostess has great advice as a sommelier, but I understand the critics, as she lacks of flexibility and is too much on the defensive side for a restaurant manager. Generous breakfast. Good overall experience.

Crêperie
This is a great little restaurant providing a large selection of pancakes and Gallettes; both savory and sweet. There are internal and external tables and the food is very good and very tasty!
The owner is a charming larger than life man who jokes with the customers in avery friendly manner; you can't help but like him.
We eat in the little courtyard with some friends and we all enjoyed our meals and the ambiance. Get there for midday or just after...it was full by 12:25.

We were looking for a restaurant in Prades to have dinner prior to a concert in a Cathedral nearby and Le Galie was opened on Sunday. We didn't except anything but ended up having an absolutely amazing meal. We opted to sit inside but there is also a terrasse.
The service was great and the food was out of this world. We had merlu, steak and rabbit - all three dishes were excellent. My husband had Cohiba glacee for desert and loved it too. The wine was perfect and the value for money for our dinner for three still amazes me. We will definitely be back!

LE PABLO et LE FESTIVAL ouvert depuis 04/2011
This place doesn't look promising from outside, being attached to a hotel and bistro, but we were pleasantly surprised. The menu is quite short, but everything was perfectly cooked and nicely presented. The lamb in garlic and rosemary sauce was close to perfection. Service was excellent and the bill was very reasonable.

This is a very upmarket and expensive restaurant set in a beautiful location. The menu is very inventive and all the food is cooked and presented to perfection. We enjoyed the pork dish, with its little potato Lighthouses and the soufflé was beautifully cooked and had an unusual combination of flavours. Staff are attentive and efficient, although there is a touch of the "cathedral of food" atmosphere.

You will not be disappointed eating here. I have never seen any one in a restaurant work so hard, are very efficient, incredibly polite and friendly. Very comfortable, very fast service with a great menu and very well cooked. Compliments to the Chef and Mary, front of house...
