Recently opened. They opened in Corpus Christi first.
One of my friends highly recommended that I check out this place while in Port Aransas on holiday, and I was so glad to see that they had reopened after Harvey. The inside looks like new and has a nice ambiance. They have lots of flavors of gelato, and their gelato is awesome! I went back on another day for a flavored steamer drink, which was also good. Great place to stop in for coffee, gelato, and/or lunch while in Port A. Will definitely return!

Irie's Island Food is an extra casual, very small restaurant serving lunch only. Hours of operation are seasonal in this vacation town. We feature fresh handmade food prepared by the chef/owner who is a graduate of the Culinary institute of America. Creative tacos on house made tortillas, Hawaiian, Asian, American/tropical, and international cuisine is offered at our establishment. We also make New Orleans style beignets from scratch, roast our own coffee, and even have creme brulee to go!
Fresh and delicious food. They have great selections of taco with unique combination and sauce. The tortilla is homemade. They also have some menu such as treasure beef/chicken, curry and loco moco. Always busy, come early during lunch. The have indoor and outdoor seating, but filled up quickly. Sometimes we do pick up and enjoy the food on the beach.

This is a tiny out of the way place - just 6 tables with a sign up board outside for seating. We were there by 7:30 and 3 of the six tables were available. I had the country breakfast - 2 eggs, 2 bacon, home...MoreThank You for your comments and say "Hi" to your daughter. Hope you make it back soon.

After 8 years in Port Aransas I have moved down the main street, Alister, after new owners bought the building I was in. I re-opened in February 2013 . If you want to keep having my Famous Brownie Sundaes, coffee shakes, Key Lime Pie shake, cheesecake, apple pie and the Big Fat Banana Split come to the new 2700 sq. ft. shop. Same bright pink and yellow colors with the decor collected from my travels around the world. If you go looking for me in my old location KNOW that it is not me. There is only one Desserted Island! Smell the brownies!
You can buy that at the grocery store. I don't understand the lines for a grocery store ice cream???

Finding an above average restaurant in a touristy beach town (Port Aransas) in summer isn't easy, but this place works. It's not cheap, but it's reasonable for a night out.
We had two families of four, all children between 14 and 11 years old, so we called ahead the day we planned to eat and they took our reservation. Like all places In the town, parking is at a premium but we found a place to park at the softball field just across the street. There is a sign on the door asking parents to be courteous with "loud children" but our families were welcomed and the staff was gracious to our kids.
The atmosphere is nice -- certainly more upscale than most places in town, but casual at the same time -- plenty of men wearing (nice) shorts.
The food was excellent. For our party of 8 we got two orders of calamari, and it was served grilled, not fried, and everyone in our party thought it was fantastic. I'm not a big fan of flounder, but I ordered one of their specials of the day, a sautéed flounder with mushrooms and mashed potatoes and it was perfect - a nice bronze crust on the outside and cooked well throughout. We also had an order of the Linguine Nel Golfo and it came with plenty of shrimp and scallops, and an order of the Spaghetti Pescatora, which also had plenty of seafood. There is no kids menu, but the entrees are large enough to split if you want to economize. Note, one of our children had a nut allergy and there were no issues.
They have a decent wine list and as a nice option you can get a carafe (3 glasses) of some of the wines.
The service was excellent -- our server and the other staff were both casual and attentive, well versed in the menu and helpful with all of our requests.
Go there, you'll like it.

From start to finish everything about this restaurant is perfect! So you might wait a while, but sip on a super margarita while you do. It's worth the wait!!! Table side guacamole is served with the perfect tortilla chips & salsa! Queso was gone in minutes with everyone wanting more. The fresh seafood specials are moist and tasty without tons of rubs or sauces. Sizzling fajitas and fresh tortillas make everyone happy! The flan is just amazing, I couldn't share and I wanted more! WE have recommended this place to everyone and have traveled twice to eat there!

The restaurant still shows signs of the recent hurricane. It is small, and somewhat "rustic" inside. But the staff was prompt and friendly. Best part was the food, we had pastas and everyone commented about how good theirs was. Prices are reasonable for the pastas. They have some very interesting specials but they are somewhat pricey. We'll come back and try them too.

The last beach shack in Port Aransas on top of the wave.
We came in for dinner on this occasion. We ordered steak and shrimp; grilled amberjack with seasonal veggies; and the tilapia with butter garlic sauce. For dessert we tried the pecan pie. The steak was grilled to perfect medium rare. Amber jack was very flavorful. Everything was well above our expectation! The pie was amazing. I highly recommend this place but make sure you bring CASH because they don’t do plastic. I will be back.

Join us for our all-day buffet every day, offering fresh salad, pizza, and pasta dishes. Order of the menu and enjoy our popular specialty pizzas, calzones, and sandwiches. Many of our dishes are also available as part of our gluten-free menu.
The staff was very friendly. The salad bar and the pizza buffet were average. For $10 for pizza, salad and dessert pizza and ice cream the price is definitely affordable. It is simple food for a good price. Thanks for visiting our place, Sherri! I'm glad you loved our tasty offerings and found everything filling. We hope to see you again soon! Best, Port A Pizzeria Family
