Surrounded on three sides by snow-capped mountains, Pocatello is a beautiful small city in the heart of eastern Idaho. The unspoiled wilderness in and around the city is perfect for cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter or hiking and biking in the summer. The Pontneuf River Greenway running through town is popular for jogging and strolling in warmer climes. For a more cultured vacation, try any of the city's theaters, dinner museums or outdoor bandshells for live entertainment.

The first inkling of an idea for the Sandpiper Restaurants came to original founder Bob Angell as he lounged on the beaches of California. While attending college he enjoyed watching the sandpipers darting in and out of the surf, and after graduation Bob moved back home to Boise, Idaho, where he opened the first of many Sandpiper Restaurants in 1971. From its humble beginnings in Boise, the Sandpiper grew until there were locations in Oregon, Arizona, and a total of four in Idaho. After several owner and management changes, there are currently two locations still open in Idaho. The Idaho Falls location was opened in 1974 by Ron Obendorf, who is still the manager. The Pocatello location opened in 1975 and has been managed by Rod Russell since 1985. Rose Anne Voigt came on as a member of the management team in 1995. Always intended to be casual fine dining restaurants specializing in steaks, seafood and pastas, the Sandpiper Restaurants continue to enjoy great popularity. Our guests have consistently bestowed us with Best Restaurant, Best Steak and Seafood, Best Fine Dining, and Best Date Place awards. Both locations offer outside dining during the beautiful Idaho summer and fall, as well as facilities for larger gatherings.
The ambiance is very unique and quaint. I was with a very large group of people and the staff did an amazing job of not only getting the orders in but getting them out quickly and correctly.
I had the fish and chips, I really liked the fries and the fish was not of low quality. I saw several people get steak and halibut and all enjoyed it.
The deserts that were coming out were of gigantic portions and those who ordered them enjoyed them.
I would highly recommend a stop by Sandpiper while on Pocatello.

We were on a multi-state road trip, and usually look for the local craft brewery. Found this one hidden away in an industrial area in a neat old building of some kind. Not very busy for a Friday night, I thought. Greeted and seated by Penny, the owner and brewmaster. Service was quick and friendly. Tried a couple of their beer, and both were okay but no big wow factor to either. The person who wrote the menu did a better job then the person preparing the meals. The food was very average. The smoked Turkey was standard deli sliced Turkey, nothing smokey about it and pretty bland, actually. The bill came before we had finished eating, with no offer of another beer or dessert, so we took the hint and went on our way. Not a bad stop, but nothing beyond average. Pretty disappointing actually, as most brewery pubs tend to be quite good, if not excellent.

Did not expect Mexican food to be this good in Idaho. This place matches the great Mexican restaurants I’ve been to on Arizona, New Mexican and California. The chili verde burrito tasted great. Mild tomatillo with many flavors. The service is perfect. The atmosphere is warm and homey

Upscale decor and landscaping make you forget we are part of a Chevron station. We can seat up to 99. Accommodate up to four groups at a time in private. We are extremely quite and love it when people linger over their meal. Our wine cellar offers a selection of 300 different wines from the world over.
Don’t let the gas station and entrance from the station store dissuade you from going here. The warm, old world decor with updated furniture is nice. We were in the back room, where impressionist style paintings cycled on a large screen. Now the food...we both had side salads that were large with fresh ingredients. My chicken Marsala with mushrooms, onions & tomatoes over fresh linguine was delicious. My husband loved his chicken Parmesan. They have a nice wine selection; the Sangiovese was great, and we shared a yummy, chocolate dessert.

Loud, small, close and "old school" all wrapped up in one little building.....that if you blink you will miss. This is your grandma's cooking in 2017! Large portions....fast, friendly service! This place is usually always crowded...especially for breakfast. The coffee is excellent and despite only being able to eat half of my omelet, it was good. There is no creativity here....just a large plate of caloric hell! So, now....my personal opinion....because I always have to tell it to you straight! If you love a large breakfast....this truly is a great option. The prices felt high...but the demand is definitely there. I ordered a veggie omelet with extra mushrooms. What I failed to notice (my own fault) is that it came with American cheese....basically Velveeta. So, I was disappointed with that. Then, I immediately noticed that the "extra" mushrooms were all canned mushrooms. I was disappointed with that. So, my fault because I didn't ask about the mushrooms and/or notice the cheese. Had I ordered a regular omelet with no cheese I would have been very happy. Again...great place to get full! Give it a try! It is truly a local favorite!

Texas Roadhouse is a steak restaurant providing legendary food with legendary service. Texas Roadhouse specializes in hand-cut steaks, fresh-baked bread, fall-off-the-bone-ribs, and made-from-scratch sides. We also serve ice cold beer and legendary margaritas. Treat your family and friends to a night at Texas Roadhouse.
Awesome food and awesome staff. Lots of food for the money. Service was quick and efficient. I found the ribs a little dry but the steak was great. Great atmosphere and great for gatherings.

This is a great independent pizza place that we tried for the first time. The ordering on the phone was easy and the delivery was quick. But the best thing was the massive 18" large pizza. Lots of meat, but not greasy and very flavourful. I definitely recommend this place.

I've traveled the world and visited both the mom and pop places and the big deal chain resturants. I've rarely encountered the attention to detail and personal experiance provided by the Applebee's Resturant in Pocatello, ID. A particlular shout out to The manager Troy. He took special interest in visiting with us and providing us with local knowlange and interesting conversation. The bartenders are all as beautiful as they are skilled. Overall a great place to take a rest from the weary weary road.
