Playa del Carmen is one of the top diving destinations in the world, thanks to vibrant sea life and dazzling underwater caverns. On dry land, Playa is a hipper and more modern version of the fishing village it once was. Spend some quality time on the golf course or wave hello to the playful spider monkeys at The Jungle Place sanctuary. Explore the ancient ruins of the Coba Mayan Village, or get in some quality people-watching as you shop and stroll along 5th Avenue.

my comments are basically the same as almost all of the others
they provide an incredibly tasty roasted chicken dinner for 60 Pesos (1/2 chicken) to 110 Pesos (whole chicken) - this includes tortilla shells, rice, and salsa style sides
this place is a must visit for anyone
closes early (6 pm) - we typically do take out as it is a very busy spot, and Seating is often full up
and to say again, this chicken is very tasty

The flavors of the Venezuelan family in Playa del Carmen, come and enjoy the Venezuelan food dishes, with vegetarian and gluten free options.
Me and my girlfriend visited this place in February 2018. We went there because of the high reviews on tripadvisor.
The juices were delicious although my girlfriend wanted a beer which they do not have.
Everyone was very friendly and there was a good atmosphere.
Unfortunately the food is (in my and my girlfriend’s opinion) very bland. No seasoning at all, the ingredients of my first course and main course were exactly the same (and looked like cat food) and the toast was way too hard. To be honest the food made me want to throw up.
For the first time ever I left a restaurant after eating only one bite of the main course. The staff saw something was wrong and I felt so sorry for them. I still feel sorry for them because of this negative review, but I had to write it.

The cuisine at Oh Lala! Is a refreshing change from that of other, more conventional restaurants. Guests are treated like good old friends in a relaxing atmosphere coupled with personalized service and good food. Opened in January, 2011, by co-owners George and Mikaela, Oh Lala! Offers personalized experiences for its guests, ranging from a laidback sampling of hors d'oeuvres and wines, to a leisurely look at the full menu. With a total of 9 tables divided between the indoor and outdoors Seating, and an open kitchen, Chef George, Mikaela, and their staff, make sure that every visit to Oh Lala, International Cuisine by George, Is a unique and a delicious one.
This is a quiet, little romantic restaurant with a full dinner menu. The food is excellent in quality and the staff works very, very hard to make your experience a mamorable one.
If you eat here, you will want to come back for another visit. The menu can be found online and prices are very modest compared to the quality of the food. The presentation of the plating is pure artwork.
This restaurant is not on 5th Avenue and that makes it a quiet, romantic spot. If you are vacationing in Playa Del Carmen, this is a must visit!

Top shelf in every respect. We were not guests at the hotel but were ushered by designated staff to the restaurant. Great service, tasty food, marvelous setting We dined al la cart and brought a bottles of 21 year old grand cru burgundy which was handled with the care it merited.

We're a small independent coffee shop selling Mexican coffee. The beans are from Chiapas and toasted and blended here in Playa. We have light food to accompany your hot or cold coffees and teas. From filled bagels and croissants to light salads and delicious cakes and cookies. Sanctuary just a block and half from the busy 5th Avenue and right in the centre of town. You can pop in for your coffee fix and a chat or grab one and run. We have a Delivery service too if you need us! Free wi-fi and a smile. Hope to see you soon!
The owner of this place is very welcoming and nice. High-speed wifi and not as crowded as Starbucks. Therefore, I was able to finish my work by fully concentrating without any disturbs.
My drink was ice chocolate and it was reasonable price and tasty enough :)
Will definitely come back here again !

Imprevist is a Catalan word which means the “Unexpected“. Dining here is experiencing these wonderful dishes that leaves you surprisingly unexpected everytime. Pavo Real by the Sea is an intimate, magical restaurant at the edge of the best beach in the world. You will come for the gorgeous view, you will come back for the incredible food prepared by Chef Alfonso Gonzalez and the attentive service and excellent wine list. Enjoy cocktails in the open-air bar at the edge of the beach, then choose a table in the garden or in the cozy salon decorated with original art, sit back and let us serve you a meal you won't be able to forget. The menu includes fresh foie gras, local fish and seafood, rack of lamb, beef tenderloin, bouillabaisse...And more. For a really special occasion, reserve a private romantic dinner on the beach. We look forward to your visit.
About a fifteen-minute cab ride from our Fairmont Mayakoba resort, we discovered a wonderful little restaurant situated right on the water.
(Be advised that to get there, you first cab to the Hotel Amarte (the outside of which doesn’t look very promising; you turn in right beside the Burger Stop sign. You then wait in the hotel lobby for the restaurant’s shuttle driver to fetch you and drive you another ten minutes through dense jungle to finally reach the restaurant. This little gem is absolutely worth the time it takes to reach it!)
The restaurant has both inside and outside seating; both very attractive. It was quite windy when we arrived and we changed tables from sitting outside to sitting in a very romantic little outside, but well protected, free standing structure that housed one table. We were completely sheltered when the rains blew in.
The food was delicious. My wife had lamb one night and I had fish. Salad entrees were both tasty. As was dessert.
The staff was attentive, friendly and professional.
Our dinner was also reasonably priced.
How much did we enjoy our Pava Real experience? Before we left, we booked a res for the following night. And our second evening there was as special as our first!
If you’re staying anywhere nearby, this culinary delight is a must. Enjoy!!!

This is my first visit to Playa Del Carmen and on the first day here we got tacos across the street from Mi Kfé. They were advertising Arepas which I always wanted to try. On our last day, after eating all over the town, we decided to try the Arepas at this place. They are amazing!! I truly wish we had eaten there sooner because I would have gone to this place like once a day! They are also a great price. If you have never had an arepa or love good food for a good price and are in playa, this is a must go to.

Was here last night. Had Caprese with LOTS of Pesto which I love. Filet Mignon as the main course. Was totally OK but I want mine thicker so a little bit surprised. Had to ask for sauce which is a downer. House wine was 500 pesos which is expensive. They put 15% tip on (I know I could have changed it) which is a lot. Normally it's 10% in PDC. WiFi did not work. All in all a good experience, mainly because of the staff/owners. Total was 1070 pesos which by far is my highest after 2 weeks here
