If your ordering Takeout then I would recommend ordering here. If your eating in and don't like waiting then I would recommend it. The service in the restaurant is very slow and always has been. The food is good and I think it's the best fish and chips in town.

The Jolly Coachman is an English Tudor style pub, well known for its great food and its atmosphere. Marilyn Sanders bought The Jolly Coachman on Ford Road eight years ago and has since dedicated her time to creating a menu that offers selection and quality. “I hang my hat on the food,” she says. “You can go anywhere for a beer. You can’t go anywhere for a great meal at a great price.”The menu boasts a mix between traditional pub fare and gourmet entrees featuring beef, chicken and seafood. There is a different food special every day of the week, including Prime Rib Fridays and New York Steak on the weekend. “I only buy the best beef, and the best produce and the best seafood that money can buy,” Sanders says. “I don’t cheap out on anything.” The Jolly Coachman also offers nightly drink specials. Customers can sip on a wide selection of local and imported drafts, bottled beers, wines, coolers and cocktails. The Jolly Coachman has undergone many changes since Sanders became owner including a new kitchen, bar, patio, and washrooms.“I’ve just about changed everything,” she says. However, throughout the renovations Sanders has maintained the pub’s cozy atmosphere. The interior still features exposed red brick walls, a large fireplace, wooden tables and street-lamp lighting fixtures.”It’s sort of your living room away from home,” says Sanders.“It’s just truly a neighbourhood pub where everyone knows everybody. It’s kind of like Cheers used to be.”Sports fans can watch every pay-per-view hockey game and UFC fight on one of the 34 flatscreen TVs in the pub.The Jolly Coachman also organizes bus trips to games in Vancouver. While sipping on an ice-cold pint, customers can try their luck at the gaming centre. The Jolly Coachman carries all B.C. Lottery products including 6-49, Super 7, Keno, Scratch & Win, and pull tabs, as well as Lotto Max and Knock Out 21.The pub opens every day for breakfast at 11 a.m. and closes at midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Whether visiting for drinks or a meal customers will always find exceptional service, value and food at The Jolly Coachman.
If your not paying attention you could drive right past this little gem. We were out visiting friends for Canada's 150 Birthday and they suggested we go for drinks and supper at the local pub just down the road. This place was awesome, it looks like it's been here forever, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was amazing and she had our drinks on the table within minutes of our order. The place only holds 100 people inside and lot on the patio. Very nicely done, my beautiful wife ordered a Caesar.... it was the best Caesar I have ever seen.... it was massive, it came with an olive, Banana pepper, pickle, Tomato, celery stick, green Bean, Asparagus, and a pepperoni stick. What a complete meal.... our meals were also excellent and very reasonable in price. We were lucky enough to be able to walk home after all the drinks and delicious food.

Fresh sashimi on a salad with a chili sauce dressing all on top of sticky rice. Very different, so I had to experience it. Bowl was large so pretty filling for a lunch option. Service was great.

I have been to this restaurant twice now. Both times the food has been good, but at these prices it should be amazing. Maybe I don't fully understand the fine dining experience, but when our drinks have been empty for near 30 mins during nearly an hour wait for main course - I seriously don't care about utensils being swapped out for clean ones. I would much prefer an attentive server asking if we need another drink! I can use the same knife for my app and main, thank you. Everyone is pleasant at the restaurant, food was good, but unfortunately I got really annoyed with their priorities of what should happen. Everyone enjoyed their meals, but alas the menu is very small. If you are a vegetarian or vegan this restaurant is not for you.

Sitting in a living room with a river stone fireplace is very comfortable. We came for lunch and felt quite comfortable in the rustic chairs. The food came out quickly and looked very good. I had the Sashimi box. The tempura was properly cooked and the raw fish was fresh. A good lunch for $12. We will be back.

Tried Big Feast yesterday and was very impressed! Wonderful soup and great sandwiches. Many people around were eating the eggs Benedict and it looked amazing! I'm ordering that next time! Will definitely go back. Quite small and very busy. They have several communal tables. They were also doing a busy Takeout trade and their frozen soups were flying out the door!

My family and I frequent this spot. It's a bit of a whole in the wall place, but the food is always tasty and prices are reasonable. Service can be a bit slow, but the food is worth the wait. They also do take out. If you have an entertainment book, there's a coupon in there, too.

Staying at the Ramada, it was only natural to eat at the attached pub. The interior is actually huge, with booths and Seating everywhere. There is a two sided fireplace and a grandiose bar. It wasn't busy at all, approximately 5 pm and we were attended to right away. We ordered about 6 or 7 appetizers, not because we are gluttons but in case we got hungry later that night. I ordered a raspberry mojito and it took quite a while to get the drink, only to find out it was barely drinkable. The mint leaves were not crushed, the raspberry far to tart and I had to add soda to make it bearable. The food was OK, general pub food. Do NOT order the mini-yorkies, they were the biggest disappointment of all. The dough was over cooked, tough and the beef inside was dry as a popcorn fart. I recommend the sliders, they were by far the best thing that came to the table. While we sat in disappointment over the food, it was really frustrating watching the chef sit at the bar talking to staff and basically hanging out. There is obviously some work that could be tended to in the kitchen.
Positives - nice washrooms, spacious pub, tasty sliders.
Negatives - slow/poor drink service and mediocre food
