If historical pursuits like following in the footsteps of famous explorers Lewis and Clark, unraveling the engineering intricacies of a famous dam or meandering around a museum that uncovers the culture of Native Americans, are your bag, Pierre is only a getaway away. The laid-back capital city of South Dakota boasts a number of interesting attractions and outdoor pursuits. Visit the illustrious State Capitol or peruse relics at the Cultural Heritage Center. Pack a picnic and spend the day walking or bicycling around Steamboat Park. Take the kids to the aquarium, for ice cream at an old-fashioned parlor and finish the day with a leisurely cruise on the Missouri River.

We are located 5 miles east of Pierre on Highway 34 overlooking beautiful Lake Sharpe. Great food in a casual atmosphere (we have sawdust on the floor). You might have to wait, but it's worth it!!
If your looking for somewhere to dine in Pierre don't forget about Cattleman's. Cattleman's is a short drive out of town with a scenic view of the Missouri River. The best time to go eat if you don't want to wait is right when they open. The have a fun atmosphere and great staff. I recommend the prime rib but they have many good options. They can accommodate both couples and large groups. Good choice for any occasion.

Walking around Pierre after a long day. I had heard about this place from the front desk clerk at Ramkota Hotel. It was worth the trek to this little place! Great ice cream. Had long lines - always a good sign - they moved fast and i sat at the nearby benches eating yummy twisted chocolate /vanilla and people watching.

This donut shop doesn't have the dumb toppings that other's have. It's all about the flavor here and all the donuts are delicious!! They look plain jane but you have to try them to understand what I'm talking about..Buttercream Donut Holes are amazing!! You'll eat your whole bag before leaving the parking lot. Ohh...Did I mention the Price is Right as well!! Cash or Check's only...No Card :) You will drive past this little hole in the wall Donut Shop. So pay close attention to directions or you'll miss it!

Servers, Keara and Dayza are worth the trip off the highway but then again...the coffee and atmosphere of the cafe place is fun too…
I recommend any of the sweets in counter and the Americano Espresso is worth the time it took to get to Pierre.

RedRossa: A Passion for Flavor! RedRossa began with a passion for fresh, flavorful, and authentic Italian-American dining. Offering affordable Italian & American cuisine, RedRossa's signature recipes highlight the finest ingredients, prepared in the tradition of old-world Italy, in a comfortable and festive atmosphere. Neapolitan pizzas are cooked to order on a homemade hand-tossed crust and "wood-fired" capturing the flavor of RedRossa. A thoughtful wine list and cocktail selection are served in the dining room and spacious and lively bar. Available for you to enjoy in Pierre, SD and Bloomington, MN.
Ate here because it was close to our hotel. Bad idea.
Service was poor from the start; waiter was more interested in the 8-top in his area than in serving the other tables there.
Food was quite disappointing. If you think this is good Italian, you need to get out more.
Both of our orders were bland and nothing special. The Seafood Diablo looked great when it got to the table but the flavor wasn’t there. The Lasagna couldn’t have been worse. The noodles were mushy, almost to the point of melting into the filling. Not particularly tasty or appetizing in any way.
Having eaten at the RedRossa in Sioux Falls (the pizzeria version) we should have known better as that experience was equally disappointing and for the same reasons - mediocre service and bland food.

I never know where this little coffee cup is going to be but if you see it around town it is worth your time to stop! I usually ramble off some crazy idea of what I might like to drink because I'm not a huge coffee drinker and she always comes up with something delicious and it isn't too spendy either. And she always has a smile when she hands it to you too!

Found this place on Trip Advisor. We there at 6pm on a Friday night.
We sat at the bar. Ordered a bottle of wine and flatbread pizza appetizer. The crust was like baked bread and the topping/cheese were delicious.
For the entrée, I had the Lobster Rockefeller. Loaded with lobster and bacon in a cream sauce over fettuccini. Rich and savoring. Hey, it's got lobster and bacon, how could one not like it?
Best of all, the staff were entertaining. Love this place! "Seriously!"

I arrived late for breakfast and all that were left were cupcakes and what I thought were cake donuts. Now I like sweets more than most folks but the layer of frosting on the cupcakes was overpowering. The "donuts" were actually a fudge browning thing shaped in the form of a donut. A little too sweet for me. I missed the caramel rolls, I'm told they are good.
Over all the pricing was expensive for what you get.

We have a wide variety if tastes in our family. After passing around the delicious sampler appetizer of poppers, mushrooms, and mozzarella sticks we each ordered differently. We highly recommend the bison sirloin, hamburger steak, fried shrimp, and salmon. The tin potatoes and steak fries were great! Morgan was a very attentive and efficient server. Her recommendations were spot on. We give this 4 out of 5 stars because the dinner salads were old and the broccoli was pretty tasteless. Also, $9 for 4 crab stuffed shrimp was excessive considering there was more breadcrumb than crab and the shrimp was barely present. Other than that, this place was a hit. If we ever come through Pierre again we'd stop here for sure!

We enjoyed our first visit to Gallos Taqueria. The small restaurant has a quaint Mexican decor.
I enjoyed the delicious steak fajitas and my husband liked his chimichanga special.
The servings are large so although the prices were a little high for lunch, we felt it was worth it.
We will be back. Hasta Pronto!
