I had an excellent experience at Jalapenos. The waiter spoke English very well so ordering was easy. The Tacos and hamburgers were both delicious. I highly recommend drinking lemonade; it is just the right combination of sweet and tart; not too strong and not too weak. The prices were great, service was fast and staff was friendly. I will definitely eat there again the next time I'm in Piedras Negras!

My whole family has been going to this pescaderia for years. Im talking about at least 2 generations. They serve great typical mexican seafood. The fish is lightly breaded. The shriimp cocktail is super. They serve frog legs. My favorites are cheese stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon. Yes its fattening but it taste incredible. A nice couple of touches are hand made lemonade and tartar sauce. Last time we ate there we fed 7 adults and 2 children with 70 dollars. A bit expensive for locals but pretty cheap for americans. There's also security at the parking. All in all I highly recommend this place.

Great restaurant for not your typical mexican antojitos, portions are large, and most people tend to over order, you select from the menu one at a time, flautas sopes tortas pelliscadas etc salsas are very good. on my last visit I wanted to try the torta medio ahogada, but it was hotter that what I expected but it was good, would order again but no Chile. otherwise everything else is great you can not go wrong, they have two Seating areas, we prefer the one with no tv, less noise, service always prompt, everything looked clean and organized.

When you are visiting any of the border towns in the USA, take the opportunity to visit the Mexican side, the food is usually much much better. La Estancia is no exception, but it is elegant, the kind you wouldn't see on the other side of the border in USA. Excellent service, well decorated and with an elegance that even reaches into their bathrooms.
The cuisine is upmarket Mexican, not the kind people associate with Tex Mex cuisine. I have to say that this is one of the nicest Mexican restaurants I have eaten in Mexico or anywhere else in the world (I try not to eat Mexican food outside Mexico)

Casual Italian/American Restaurant specializing in traditional Italian Food with an American twist.
Let me start by saying, this is the ONLY true Italian Restaurant in the Piedras Negras-Eagle Pass area. And it sure is worth the trip! This Bistro offers from a variety of appetizers including Buffalo Shrimp and Fried Mushrooms, wide variety of Salads like the Marinera and the Santa Fe to Pastas including my favorite, Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp. What's missing? PIZZAS! Italian Mix Bistro offers over 17 different types of Pizza, my favorite is the Continental mmmmm.... you can't go wrong here. I'm betting you'll ask for a doggie bag!

Someone mentioned the Charcoal Grill, but I was not prepared for the experience.
All choices made by my friends and I looked very appetizing.
Good portions with the right seasoning.
Plate prsentation lives up to the description in the menu.
Sauces and sides complimented each meal just right.
Have had meals in Piedras Negras for m a ny occasions, many times I found the advertisement was not representative of the actual quality or taste.
Charcoal Grill's staff seem to execute so well, I willstart to rrecommend it to my friends and business associates.
Very good good, solid service, and good variety of meats and dishes.

I've been hearing about this restaurants for quite some time. Recommended by friends and family. Everyone I know was giving it a high praise. I was kind of scared I might have developed too high of a expectation given all the high praise. But this place delivers the goods. Very nice restaurant. Clean with nice decor. The food was excellent. We ordered the tortas barrokas and the fruit and chicken salad. Ended up sharing with the wife and we were both impressed. The tortas were out of this world good. I was super skeptical of the chicken fruit salad. Having horrible experiences here stateside. The chicken had a very good taste. Very well marinated. The fruit was from Mexico. It just taste so much better than fruit stateside. Everything was fresh and cooked to order. 13 adults and 2 children and we only paid $150 U.S. dollars. For the quality of food and service. I don't think I could find a place to beat that. This restaurant will be a favorite of my family. Definite recommendation.

This is a franchise restaurant very well designed and comfortable.
The menu is not your typical Mexican seafood restaurant, its a little bit more sophisticated, with marlin and squid tacos, the menu is extensive with non seafood options and a kid's menu.
To start you get a shrimp base soup and four different salsas all very good.
Prices are very reasonable expect around $10 dlls. per person.
The restaurant and restrooms are very clean.
Service was prompt and efficient.
Can not wait to back and try something new the pulpo zarandeado tacos and camaron norteño and everything else I have tried is very good.

As soon as you approach the place (they have several shops around town) you can hear the well selected music on their playlist. Very enjoyable mix of smooth jazz, pop or the like.
Once you enter the shop you can immedately smell the coffee, excellent qualtity coffee. I bet it has a lot to do with the high quality italian espresso machines they have.
Although it is formally a bakery, you can picture this as a smaller scale lil' starbucks-type coffee shop. Complete with all the varieties of coffee and tea beverages, as well as a good selection of sandwiches, salads and CAKE.
One thing... service. There's a good opportunity to improve service. It seems to me that they have a staff of many new employees who need to work on service attitude. Some others are pretty good and make for a very pleasant experience.
Overall, great coffee, large variety, great mood, room for improvent on service.

There are some places that do seafood better in Piedras Negras, but the huge chunks of fried catfish here are to die for. The restaurant itself is medium size and seems to always be packed. Service has been a bit lacking the last time we were here, but it was very packed that day. Every time we eat here my whole family goes for the catfish. If you like seafood, I would at least give it a try based on the fried catfish.
