Peru is a town in Bennington County, Vermont, United States. The population was 375 at the 2010 census. Originally known as Bromley, the town name was changed to "Peru" by the land grantees as a way of attracting land buyers to an area that had been described as 36 square miles (93 km) of "trees, bears and mountain lions".

We tried everything on the menu I think. The seafood medley, the chicken, the sweetbreads the European salad, think someone had a vegan dinner, , steak tartare, veal, lamb chops, cheese board carrot cake, caramel ice cream, vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce and more. It was all good, wine very good and service friendly and thoughtful.

Step back in time and relax in our 1880's farmhouse and tavern. The Bryant House Restaurant and Tavern at The Vermont Country Store serves up comfort food sure to please. From grass-fed burgers, chicken pot pie, pot roast, burgers, fish and chips, homemade desserts and more, there is something for everyone from grandkids to grandparents. In summer, enjoy a Maple Creemee or Wilcox Ice Cream at our Mildred's Dairy Bar while relaxing outdoors!
While visiting the Vermont Country Store, we had a delicious lunch here. (It's just across the parking lot from VCS). The menu is somewhat small but it seems everything is homemade. Portions and prices are reasonable. Check out their antique soda machine just after entering. Lovely old place.

We stop in occasionally for a dozen donuts and an egg sandwich. It's not fancy, but the food is fresh and the staff is friendly. It's so much better than a chain donut.

We were pleasantly surprised by an excellent dinner. Their patio is delightful, with views of Stratton MTN and attractive plantings.'Very relaxing to catch up with close friends while enjoying good cocktails and small bites. The entrees were especially good and none were over-salted (my chief complaint when we dining out.) I like the fresh fish options. They also have irresistible fries. We look forward to trying the Happy Hour oysters.
Verde is pricey, but the chef is talented and the food delicious.

THE NEW AMERICAN GRILL "vermont soul, world flavor" Enjoy a varied menu thoughtfully prepared from the freshest ingredients, accompanied by a great selection of draft beers, wines & cocktails. Conveniently located in the heart of southern Vermont's beautiful ski & ride country, The New American Grill offers a casual and inviting atmosphere to relax and live the good life with family and friends. Lunch & dinner served daily.
Located just outside Londonderry in a small mall this place is a real gem! Reasonable $, great service and excellent cooking. The corned beef hash was sublime and the “small” portion of Caesar salad was more than enough for two. Wednesday’s are “Sushi night.” We saw plate loads of delicious-looking hamburgers and French fries going past our table for a large family of skiers. If you’re skiing at Bromley or Magic it’s well worth the detour- a vast improvement over ski area cafeteria so-called “food.”

This restaurant is just a few weeks old.
This is our third time at this restaurant and it was amazing again!!!! All the food is so creative and delicious. We had the tomato salad, the chicken liver mousse, the bolognese, the duck, the ramen and then ice cream/sorbet assortment. Every dish was was as good to look at as it was to eat!!! True farm to table place. The restaurant is so quaint and the staff so friendly. Do not miss this place, be sure to make a reservation or get there early for a seat at the bar.

Small unique restaurant run by the chef/owner and wife. Wonderful selection of starters and entrees. Bread pudding with coconut anglaise is a winner. Wine selection is small but completely compliments the menu. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. By far my favorite restaurant in Manchester for one or two couples.

Pies, cakes, muffins, cookies - they all are delicious. Try the morning glory muffins - our favorite. Coffee and a few tables or sit outside on the deck and enjoy a treat.

Stopped in for lunch, midweek and wow for a local off the beaten path place it is truly an enjoyable experience and well worth checking out if in the area. It's small so expect there might be a short wait depending on timing but it will be worth the wait!

We stumbled upon the Dessert Shoppe tucked in the corner of the IGA Plaza (Mountain Marketplace) by the Londonderry post office. My husband zeroed in on the crumb cake displayed in the case. Sam, the co-owner recommended we try a bomber; an amazing almost mini cupcake dipped in sugar. WOW! While talking with Mary, the baker, I discovered she and Sam came from CT and makes cakes to order. I sure if they are anything like what we taste tested they will be wonderful. Definitely a place to stop in for a coffee and a treat.
