The Sun Tavern is an upscale yet casual fine dining restaurant located just south of Boston in a quaint farmhouse dating back to pre-revolutionary days. On a country road in the seaside community of Duxbury, The Sun Tavern's warm inviting environment is a reminder of days gone by, with a fireplace sitting area to warm your soul and five separate dining areas to enjoy the company of others. The Sun Tavern offers a vast array of American cuisine. Listed as one of The Phantom Gourmets "Top 100 Restaurants in New England", you will find cuisine that rivals the finest that Boston has to offer. Awarded the "Gold Plate" by Billy Costa of T.V. Diner and rated "Gourmet Greatness" by the Phantom Gourmet, The Sun Tavern is the place to dine on the South Shore.
We are regular visitors to the Sun Tavern. The meals are fantastic! The setting is an antique building with an active fireplace. The tables are tight but still comfortable. If you enjoy an open kitchen where you can watch the Chefs in action, request the Grille Room. If you don't see what you want, just ask! Reservations are required on weekends. Larry and Laura are great hosts!

Dairy Twist is our favorite as the ice creams are delicious and the service is good. They give you a generous serving for a reasonable price.

Great selection of frozen yogurt, interesting building, good service, great prices. I love to sit outside and just relax while having my treat. Can't wait to take my visiting sister from NY to this place. I go here frequently!

This is a local pub style restaurant that you and your family can go to. Tv’s everywhere to watch your games. My son loves to play keno while we are there too! The food is fabulous. Pizza is awesome, and their chicken tenders and steak tips are even better. Every dish we have had is great and at very reasonable prices. So reasonable we can afford to go out more than have to cook and clean after a long days work. I highly recommend this place!!

Ordered Take out for a party at home, told it was best Chinese around. It was basically one of the worst Chinese food ever. I have to report this because I am so tired of people telling me how great it is. Worst fried shrimp, could barely cut through the thick hard batter with a knife! The rice was dry & hard. Just awful, the Beef Lo Mein, fat & chewy beef. I don't know if this was an off night, I only know I will never return. I think people say it is great because of the location & dining area, I don't know.

Gunther Tooties has a number of South Shore locations and the bagels are consistently terrific. The other baked items are excellent as well...as is the coffee... I haven't tried the other menu offerings... But, if you are in need of a "bagel fix", this is the place to satisfy your desires.

I love Mary Lou's. My kids and I walk there daily in the early morning and I enjoy a variety of flavored iced coffees. The kids like the donut holes and lemon bread. The folks that work there are always very pleasant and accommodating. They do a great job handling a high volume of drive through and walk-in customers.

We stopped for lunch at Crossroads and ordered a breakfast sandwich and a burger. They have a somewhat limited menu- breakfast stops at around 11:30AM and lunch basically has just sandwiches and soups-some specials too.The breakfast sandwich was good but the roll was too big for it so there was a lot of bread to it. The filling was tasty though-fresh eggs and bacon just too much bread. I suggest maybe getting it on a bagel or English muffin. The burger was just O.K.not much flavor and was a little greasy. It could have been just what we ordered, but I wasn't that impressed with Crossroads. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the prices are very reasonable and it has a loyal following-a local place known for good food at good prices. I might return to give it another try as,I said it could have been just what we ordered but it won't be for awhile.

It's getting more difficult to find the typical "ice cream parlor" from the past. Most of the Friendly's restaurants have closed. Thankfully, the Pembroke, MA location has survived. This restaurant is a nice option for families. It has a number of dining options but we visit for the ice cream...especially the sundaes. It;s a nice treat for that occasional ice cream indulgence.
