Good food and the owner does try and make the service top, but you must not be in a hurry. The wait is worth the time spent, the view is fantastic, and when the food arrives it is great

We had dinner here a few times while staying in Pemba and would probably rank it Pemba's best. It's beautifully located on the ocean with a wide range of fish and drinking options. The staff could be a bit more informed but otherwise it is a great place for a nice night out.

During my visits to Pemba i enjoyed having lunch or dinner at Wilsons, Tinus was spot on, his service and attention and care was always present, though his style was not always to my taste, as i prefer less sauses on food, that is mearly personal preference.
Sadly after Tinus left, the restaurant collapsed and you can hardly get one meal on the same standard or with same ingredience as previous. I now have to go battle at other places for food too, as my loyalty is not exclusive anymore.

In Pemba it doesn´t exist many offers. I already wrote this on a previous review. Locanda is a kneet place, with fair treatment. Lately it´s been improving. Many times misses some products. The Pizza is very good, but only at dinner once at the Lunch time they don´t serve that dish. It is a old Portuguese colonial house which is transformed on a Guest House with restaurante. If you are in Pemba I suggest to make a meal there but I warn you that, sometimes, less often then a few yers back, they are rude. But, again, they are improving quite well, specially the lady partner. The Price is very fair and serves you well.

Start with the bad, the service is slow, oreer 2 or 3 beers at a time. Location is stunning. Food is fresh seafood, prepared fantastic. Absolute value for mobey. If you did not visit this place, you have not been in Mozambique. Best time is werkends. Negative point here is the spoiled irritating idisrespectfull ndian brats on their quad bikes, sad and selfish...

Longterm Pemba expats know the situation well: there's about five to ten places you can go to, hang out and forget a bit the hazzles of everyday. The recently re-opened Italian 'Por do Sol' (after being closed for more than 5 years) definitely reduced that lack of oportunities. The place: sitting at the Terrace at the end of Wimbe beach you can overlook the beachline with its nowadays constantly increasing lights. From the two Lighthouses indicating the entrance to the worlds third largest bay to the west until Pedro's (private) place in the east. Warm summer nights dining at the beach. There is hardly a better place. The food: Very good Italian, but extraordinary for Pemba. And: mostly quick! The staff: mostly well trained, proactive and polite. Name a second place in Pemba, that's got the three of those! ;-)

Run by a South African, 556 concentrates on grills and steak of reasonable to good quality and based on a typical SA pub and grub establishment.
It is frequented by foreign entrepreneurs, local businessmen and expats alike. The vibe is casual and easy going, not fine dining and superior service. It is located in the older part of the Pemba and serves a nice view from its elevated location. If you are up for a social get together with colleagues or friends and craving for a reasonable steak, this is your place.

We ate here a couple times. Food and service were excellent. Good pizza and salads! Free internet and charging in the open air restaurant. Big screen TV. Russell is most helpful in all ways!

What a wonderful place it used to be. Exquisite meals and above average service.
All the different meals were out of stock today.
No beef, no chicken no milkshakes, no juices..
Eventually I asked the surly waiter to order something that was available for me.
What a pity, such an amazing place bring neglected like this.

One of my favorite watering holes in Pemba, the only place that sells Ice cold 2M on tap...yum.
Delicias has fantastic cold meat and cheese platters excellent pizzas and all beers are served with roasted peanuts.
Friday and Saturday nights host Karaoke - which is very well attended so get there early.
