We had three different datsis, ema, hentse and shuma. All three were wonderful. We also had veg momos and cheese momos. We could tell they were freshly made, so tasty The red rice was delicious also. The manager and staff are so nice. We definitely would return.

So just getting the ingredients to cook food for crowds up here is nothing short of a miracle since no doubt everything has to be carried by hand/horse/mule. Cafeteria offers tea and biscuits for the weary en route or coming down from the Tiger's Nest, so a welcome spot. Lunch was a vegetarian buffet, which tasted fine despite my qualms about the hygienic aspect of things. No one got sick. Lots of folks eating here. Was dubious but just go for it.

We saw this tiny cafe mentioned in the Lonely Planet & dropped in for afternoon tea after a day of sightseeing & souvenir shopping in Paro. We liked it so much that we asked our guide to take us back again the following afternoon.
Decor is simple & homely with wicker chairs & tables. They serve mugs of coffee (filter or instant) and a range of teas - plus a selection of delicious cakes. We sampled the peach cake (a stand-out favourite), the carrot cake with lemon glaze (a close second), chocolate cake with vanilla frosting & tiramisu cake (chocolate cake with coffee frosting).
Good value, friendly service & delicious homemade cakes.

Ask any of the local shops in Paro about Sonam Trophel Restaurant and i am sure anyone can direct you since its a small town.
It was bit difficult to locate this restaurant, could not easily find it, proper boarding should have been kept. (Its there, but not so easily identifiable)
Restaurant is in first floor.
Food was good though, (Did not find as extraordinary ) we been there for dinner,
Ambience was good.
would recommend.

My second meal at Yu Garling was even better than the first. This funky upstairs restaurant in the center of Paro's CBD has wonderful things going on in the kitchen. Begin by helping yourself to their buffet. Once you are seated, additional dishes arrived from the kitchen one by one. Food here is honest and unpretentious. They do not bother with presentation, but with authentic hand-made dishes like you might expect in a Bhutanese home. It is hard to avoid visiting Paro twice (coming and going), so a meal at Yu Garling is a terrific beginning or ending to your culinary adventures in Bhutan.

We were residence of the hotel and thought the food great quality, on a par with top restaurants in London. Our only disappointment was that they ran out of apple pie on our last evening. Would highly recommend the porridge with rhubarb before you trek to Tigers Nest - delicious.

This is simple bhuthanese restaurant in Paro town, serving decent food. The good point is owner willingness to arrange picnic anywhere around Paro district. He will bring seats, the warm food in termo covers and even beer and soft drinks. You can eat anywhere in nature with service of waiters and for same cost as if you eat in restaurant.

This restaurant is situated in front of Bhutan Development bank. The name is not much familiar with the locals.. hence best to search for the bank and then look for the restaurant on the opposite side.
The service was good and the thai red curry, french fries & chicken rice we had ordered were all good. No complaints at all.

During our three nights at Paro we visited this lovely cafe twice. The first time we had the time to “take away” a chocolate tart (the only one vegan option). The second time we stopped for the coffee (cappuccino & macchiato). Both of them were very good.
Friendly service, good coffee, excellent bakery (our friends had and enjoyed a black forest tart, walnut pie, apple pie).
A free WiFi was very slow and then it died.
Brioche Café is a great place to have a coffee break in Paro, however a little bit expensive for Bhutan.
