The place is colorful and interesting, but the bathrooms are not clean, the service is slow and without enough knowledge of the menu. The food was very good and the pasta is very special, because is homemade and with very good flavor a combination. The prices are Ok in relation with the food and the place. In my opinion, the place has a lot of potential, but they should take care of these details in order to get the additional star.

The food here is excellent. It is located inside the Sambil Mall but tucked in area on the outside of the mall. The restaurant has a courtyard which faces a beautiful inside pond and garden area so it is airconditioned! They have fish and pasta and I had both. I went there three times over a three week period and the food was consistently good.

We had to wait for a few minutes because the restaurant was full, but it went fast because they decided to open another dining space since we were three groups waiting. The service was good and fast and the food tasty. They had fish, meet, chicken, rice, the price was adequate. We left satisfied and would recommend it.

My sister and her husband took us to this place because its amazing location. It was raining when we arrived and the doorman, who had an umbrella, left us waiting in the rain. The barmen just ignored us until we called one of them. We had a couple of cocktails and then we left. We didn't try the food. Advice: don't go there when it is raining if you don't want to get wet, not only because the rude doorman (perhaps it was bad luck) but because most of the tables are outdoor.

We ate here twice, not beacause we loved it so much, but because the pizza was very good and the meals were consistent and convenient. I had the 4 cheese pizza-very good the first night, OK the second night. The kids liked the pasta. Service, like in much of this island, is never great. The fruit drinks are always good. Conveniently located in the shooping mall.

Went there with some locals while visiting Margarita Island and the place was full for lunch on a weekday. Service is professional and prompt while the décor reminds you of an average modern restaurant in Italy...nice but no big deal. I had the chupe de gallina and can say that it was probably one of the best I've ever had. Also had a chance to taste the minestrone they had prepared for the next days menu and it was also outstanding. They only have chupe on Thursdays so check with the restaurant before hand. Then I had the roasted pork and I would say that it was good tasting but not superb. Any Cuban or Puerto Rican version would run rings around their pork. They also served the portion with about four puny boiled potatoes which tasted old if they tasted at all. Furthermore, whoever cut the portions should go back to butchering school. I kept finding little pieces of bone in the meat which is a sure sign of poor butchering and distracted from the dinning experience. As far as I am concerned, the jury is still out on Dolphin.

We were drawn into Catabar by its tastefully decorated dining room and variety of international flavors. The space is tastefully appointed, with different colors of stones on each wall, an open wine cellar, and vaulted ceilings. Since we were indecisive about what to order, we ended up trying the degustation menu, where you are served tasting portions of a chef’s choice of 3 appetizers and 3 entrees along with dessert. This is a bit “cleaner” than trying to share separate dishes and have us lots of variety.
Our starters were seared tuna, a shot cup of crab potato soup, and scallops wrapped in bacon each with its own unique flavor. Bread was served with the starters, and while the rolls themselves were unremarkable the olive pesto dipping sauce was interesting and tasty. The main dish tasting portions were a white fish fillet sautéed in a light cream sauce (moist and flavorful) with ratatouille, a grilled tenderloin topped generously with foie gras, and langosteens in a tangy curry sauce garnished with fresh dill. The presentation was artistic, with the fish and steak complemented with foie gras were exceptional.
Dessert was a warm chocolate soufflé topped with vanilla ice cream and complemented by a chocolate ‘egg roll’ garnish. The temperature contrast and rich chocolate made it a heavenly ending to our meal, but after dinner coffee took a while to appear. In general, the pacing of the meal was quite quick (possibly even too fast) until it came to coffee and the check, which would be the only shortcoming of the experience.
In terms of food and overall experience we’d say Catabar is a slight notch below Casa Caranta, but Casa Caranta is In a class by itself. That says a lot about the quality of Catabar. Definitely a recommended dining experience on Isla Margarita.

This restaurant is one of the most popular places to eat in Porlamar, Margarita Island in Venezuela. They always have fresh fish and seafood dishes, also paella and spanish rice with seafoood. Some of the best fish or seafood are a little expensive. Good service. Very noisy specially at noon, best time to visit after 2 pm.

This was our second time in Trimar. I might not come back. Service was very slow. They were out of few items. Foforera only had tripa de perla, nothing else. Waited for over an hour for paella.
