First timer at this pleasant restaurant with a local, eco-friendly food philosophy.
The ambience is clean, black and white contemporary with great natural lighting from windows surrounding the large space with both small and large white tablecloth tables, and comfy booths. There is a small bar located near the entrance with a few small tables and stools to seat eight.
The menu carefully explains that all ingredients for the entrees and sides are carefully chosen...very impressive. There is also a gluten free/vegan menu. Both have quite a variety, and it seems even the "usual suspects" are prepared with a unique twist.
I chose the White Forest omelet made with egg whites, lots of juicy seasoned veggies, topped with a modest portion of melted cheese-perfect! I opted to pay an extra dollar to substitute very fresh fruit for the hash browns and chose the two small pancakes to round out a wonderful lunch entrée. The portions were just right; very satisfying without the doggie bag! The smoked chicken Caesar type salad included black beans. The hot tea was served with a full spoon of honey on the saucer which wasn't noticed until it dripped all over the table....I wonder how often that happens?
We enjoyed the ambience and the food, but I did not offer a 4 or 5 star rating because our waiter was very abrupt, rushed, seemed quite irritated, never engaged us or smiled and frankly...he was rude. He made us very uncomfortable.
In spite of him, I would not hesitate to return, expecting the same quality food and more amiable staff.

We did a lot of business at the Original Plush Horse the other day. We left with a birthday cake, two pies, cupcakes, a couple of chocolate milk shakes, a chocolate soda, a banana split and eight--count 'em, eight--quarts of ice cream. The Original Plush Horse at 12301 South 86th Avenue in Palos Park has been the "sweetest" landmark in the south suburbs for more than 75 years. You can't go there and just walk away with a waffle cone, can you? The trick is to decide which of about 40 flavors of ice cream you want to take home with you. I'll admit there are a couple of flavors that I'd like to see on the list--and I've make ownership aware of them--but it's hard to complain when there are so many delicious options. You can't take them all home, right? So on every visit to the Original Plush Horse, we choose eight. This time, we selected butter pecan, chocolate chip, cookies and cream, peach, cinnamon, strawberry, coconut gelato and apple pie. Oh, did I forget pralines and cream and banana fudge gelato and Rocky Road? Next time. Maybe by then they will have added orange sherbet or orange pineapple or rainbow sherbet or chocolate almond to the menu.

It was quite crowded because it was Chinese New Years and the closest Asian restaurant to the Moraine Valley Fine and Performing Arts Center. We were there for a pre-show dinner. They did the best they could -- we made the show -- not everything came out as requested or together.

Really want to Love this place but I can't. When it first opened I will definitely say it was delicious and finally happy to have a place close to home that has great bakery products. However, the past few months that I have been going the items are not up to par. Not sure if they got a new Baker or what, but the chocolate cake donuts are definitely not the same as they used to be and pretty much anytime you go there after 1:00 PM they are sold out of most things. That I really don't understand! Most items are very dry and crumbly. Today I bought a chocolate cake donut, jelly filled doughnut, raspberry bar, and lemon bar. The only thing that was decent was the jelly filled doughnut. The chocolate cake donut was so dry and crumbly. And the raspberry and lemon bars were very soggy and just not well baked. Like I said I really really want to like the bakery but I just can't. I have given it way too many chances. Back to Orland Park bakery where the chocolate donuts are always fabulous and the racks are always full with variety.

Friendly staff, quick service, and delicious bagels. They offer a variety of sweet and savory bagels and cream cheeses as well as breakfast and lunch bagel options. The place is clean and prices are decent. I've been coming for almost 20 years, and it never disappoints.

Can't believe I have never been here. We sat outside. Love the tables made from trees, the fire pit, love the ambiance. Had delicious burgers and freshly made fries. Very good bread pudding. Walked through the inside also, very WI supper clubby to me, love it. The place is huge but even for a Thursday night it was busy. Take note of the logs everywhere, lots of thought went into all this. We will be back!

Most Italian food in Chicago is good, but this place tastes more like being in Italy, outstanding. There are dishes on the menu that are not found in most other Italian restaurants. They also pour a larger glass of wine than most. We almost always have to wait for a table, but it’s worth it!

Family owned restaurant, lots of food for the dollar, I've been coming here since 1969, serve breakfast & lunch all day, some dinner dishes are also available, open @ 6a.m. & closes @ 3p.m./ Jen & Julie make this place very friendly. This place is packed on the week-ends..local favorite to those who know a good thing. this restaurant has character, which is a plus..good food , friendly people, cheap eats.. what more do you need or could you ask for!!!

My family has been eating Pop's food for 25 years. My husband usually opts for the combo while I prefer their burgers or Chicago dogs. Food is fresh, prepared to order, and amazingly fast. The fries orders are generous, but somehow whoever picks up our order manages to down a handful on the drive home. Prices are reasonable and, if the weather is nice, they have several tables setting outside Skip the big chains and opt for Pop's instead.

I love going to Palos diner. The food is really good, the staff is very friendly, and even when they are busy the service is fast. I’ve never had anything there I don’t like, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Reasonable prices and good portions. I eat here weekly, and whenever someone suggests going out to breakfast, I always suggest Palos diner.
