The journey from West Maui to Mama’s Fish House was worth the hour plus trek for lunch. As one of the most popular places to dine in Maui, we had to try it out. The menu at Mama’s is printed everyday, with some dishes remaining the same everyday while different fish specials are printed at the top depending on season. I ordered the Ono, ahi, and Kanpachi in Penang curry, which was very flavorful. What amazes me is that the fish here is cooked to perfection, so you won’t expect the fish here to be over cooked at all (hence why the price per plate is relatively high for fish). I would have given this place a five star rating but we found a hair in the crab cakes that we ordered; however the staff at Mama’s were so apologetic regarding the mishap and gave us dessert to try on the house. With that in mind, we ordered the Black Pearl, which is the dessert to die for at this place if you’re a chocolate fudge fanatic.
Overall, I would definitely come back to Mama’s despite what happened with our crab cakes. Definitely a place that’s worth the drive no matter where you’re on the island.

Relaxed coffeehouse serving breakfasts, sandwiches, bowls, & salads in homey environs with garden seating.
This is a charming place to spot for coffee or any simple bite to eat. It’s a very wholesome type of place (organic, natural). A great spot before or after the road to Hana. It’s just off the street behind a bikini store, or you can walk through the store as they are connected. Public parking just past the Shell gas station on the left if you’re coming from Hana.

Paia Gelato is in the middle of Paia Town just before the only street light in town. We just moved to our new location and are serving the best gelato on Maui. We also have may different dessert treats, coffees, and food to go.
If you know what gelato is and enjoy it, don't miss stopping here. Great quality and servings adequate; friendly staff too. Right on the main road through Paia.

Okay...perfect selections of just about everything: chocolate! Ginger chews for road to Hana! Cereals in giant sizes! Chips galore! Amazing salad bar! Hot foods to go! Awesome veggies and fruits! Staples! Coffees! Teas! This is a real supermarket plus. Puts Whole Foods to shame with their very fair pricing! Mostly, really friendly folks working and shopping here. Narrow aisles but it all works! The small, adjacent parking lot was always a drudge...the only drudge going here. They now offer an hour of free parking just up the road at the unpaved, guarded lot...saves you 3 bucks and you don’t have to play the parking waiting game. We used to pay to park there just to get moving! We love everything about Mana’s...except that it is a one of a kind store and miss it terribly when we leave Maui!

We stopped here for a mid-week lunch. We bought a few panini, chia puddings and beverages. All were very delicious!! Friendly service too. Very reasonable prices IMO - around $30 for two people for all of the above. Oh, and if you're a chocolate lover they have a tremendous selection!

After a hot hike at Twin Falls and a week of nothing but ahi poke for every meal, the family was excited to have pizza. Its solid, and interesting. The pizza is organic so that has a bit of a different texture. Nice toppings choices, great shade after a hot hike and cold beers. Parking is hard around here - so turn up the hill at Paia Fish and park in the post office for a nominal fee.

We found this place by total surprise and thankfully we did. It's at the far end of the main street running through Paia and is a very un-assuming front entrance. Inside has been decorated beach casual but yet modern.
We dined here twice (Breakfast and dinner) and were very pleased on both occasions with both the food and the service.
Servers where knowledgeable and friendly, we also saw this interaction with others here.
Food: This was an exceptional experience, the quality was fresh and the selection is amazing. From fresh acai power bowls to sandwiches and soups.
They've got a brilliant selection of local Kombuch Tea's on tap and we were able to get a taster flight (As you might with beers).
We have already recommended this place to all our family and friends and urge fellow travellers to put this on your must visit in Maui.

Stopped by before after our drive up the mountain at the National Park. Ordering was easy at the counter. My burger was great and my son's blackened seared sushi was tasty and a nice portion. The side order of fries was huge. The prices were reasonable. If I head back to Paia I will return.

We set out on a Sunday to drive the Road to Hana. We hit the Hana Bay Picnic company around 8am for a picnic lunch. The service was fast and friendly. We bought the cooler to keep the sandwiches cold. It turned out that there were enough dining options available on a Sunday that we would not have starved on our journey-but the convenience of pulling out lunch as soon as the kids started to fade was totally worth it!
