We stopped in on the road from Pinhao to porto for a late lunch. The food was fantastic, made fresh and really tasty. Great prices and range of food. We speak no Portuguese but found it no problem even in this remote place. Well worth a visit for a meal.

This is the Portuguese version of pubs, but with a lot of good appetizers! Although it id not located in a visible place, you must go there. It is one of the kind! For a fair price you get a meal with all Portuguese appetizers you can think of and the main meal, if you still find space for it after the entrance.

Servicio increíblemente rápido y eficiente. Tapas muy buenas. Bifanas riquísimas. Cañas excelentes. No probé la francesinha pero tenía muy buena pinta, y es unos de los platos más recomendables. Volveré seguramente

After visiting in March alone, earlier this year, I knew it was a repeat destination whilst on holiday in August. The staff are young and attractive. Servive is a bit slow, but with a central location and a nature park....life in Pacos..... does go by a little slower. Is that a bad thing? :D We loved the trendy, hipster vibe, the wifi is great and the cheap eats. Try the Sandeira Sandwich and the Caipirinha , both delicious. Gin and tonic on point in the evenings. All in all.....best place in town.

This excellent restaurant in the middle of nowhere particularly was a real surprise, despite the rather haphazard service.
Eight of us - with no-one speaking Portuguese - was challenge enough for the bemused waiter, but with only three menus and limited translation we eventually managed to order some tapas and main courses.
Food was home-made and wholesome - fish excellent - and the two carnivores were sated after their hunk of cow.
Even our 8 year old was happy, but knackered!
Knockabout fun!

Had a fabulous time here the other night. Our inability to speak Portuguese and the locals inability to understand English meant that the tapas was a surprise each time it was delivered. However, we need not have worried as everything we had was delicious (I particularly enjoyed the beef and kidney). We arrived at 20:00 which was perfect timing as within 45 minutes all the tables were taken by locals. The vinho verde and the sangria were both of a good quality and both easy drinking. The waiter was patient, pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. i think in the end the four of us spent less than 60 Euros in total for what was one of the best nights of our trip.

After living in Pacos de Ferreira for a number of years, we stumbled across this gem through word of mouth. It is in the middle of a residential area and out in the middle of nowhere. I will tell you it is very much worth the journey. Fabulous home cooking. Just like your grandmother would make. Authentic and very wallet friendly... think under 5 euros for lunch! lovely atmosphere but very, very busy at lunch. limited parking, although you do have off street if you are lucky. Again...a diamond in the rough that shines bright with every visit. I recommend this restaurant very confidently...it will not disappoint ;)

Paper towels, paper napkins, true atmosphere. This is what you ask to a real Portuguese family restaurant. This is what you find here. I can tell with no doubt that, among all the restaurants I have been visiting during the years in Portugal, this is for sure the best I found. Obviously we are speaking about simple Portuguese traditional food. Don't expect anything sofisticate here. But the food is REAL awesome. From the never-ending sequence of starters they propose you (which, as a matter of fact should be enough to satisfy even the biggest hunger) when you can taste from octopus to fried cod patties, to extremely savoured sausages to local chees and ham. Everything is worth to be tasted. To finish with the traditional "bacalao" (cod) grilled and served with fresh vegetables and potatoes. At the end a fruit platter will help you not to forget this simple fantastic place. A place to remember if you are in the area to play golf or following the Romanic Route.
