Orcutt is an unincorporated town located in the Santa Maria Valley of California, and a census-designated place; it is in Santa Barbara County, California, United States. Orcutt is named for William Warren Orcutt, the manager of the Geological, Land and Engineering Departments of the Union Oil Company. Known as the “Dean of Petroleum Geologists" Orcutt is credited with discovering fossilized prehistoric animal bones preserved in pools of asphalt on the Hancock Ranch. These would be the first of many fossils excavated from the La Brea Tar Pits. In commemoration of Orcutt’s initial discovery, paleontologists named the La Brea Coyote in W.W. Orcutt’s honor, Canis orcutti.

On a suggestion from our BnB host, we visited Kay's on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Service was outstanding (Loren), food was great, and prices were appropriate. We arrived around 8:30 and were seated right away. A line was starting to form (always a good indicator) when we left. Water and soft drinks arrived in quart Mason type jars.

Never been to Cuba, just Miami, but the Cubanissimo transported us to Little Havana! The newly opened cafe has transitioned from food cart to a brick and mortar shop. The menu covers several types of sandwiches and sides including a Cuban sandwich and Yuca fries which were featured from the food cart. We ended our meal with Colada coffee which is expresso and sugar on steroids. No wonder they only serve it in shot glasses—excellent. Hours from 7 AM to 3 PM.

My wife and another couple were traveling from Pennsylvania. We had dinner at the Far Western on my birthday. The menu was very good. A nice choice of entrees with a good price range. My wife and I had N.Y. strip steaks. They were well prepared to our asking. Our friends chose sandwiches and were very satisfied. The waiter was very personable and recommended a couple of choices in local craft beer which I also enjoyed. This was our second time at the Far Western. Both times were delicious.
Service, food and value were all 5 Star. Trip Advisor site not working correctly.

My friend and I ended up at Ulivettos' after being rudely treated when requesting a reservation at another Italian cafe in the same area. What a surprise find!
The ristorante is located in the heart of old town Orcutt, a quaint two street town with a number of fine restaurants and boutique services. Visiting the town, alone, is a nice experience!
We were quickly seated, on a busy night and the customer service was good. Their food is genuine Italian and was prepared nicely. The prices are mid to high for pasta dishes, but the flavor is worth it. I had stuffed tortellini with a white sauce that was fantastic!
We will definitely go back!

First, Rooney's is in a great location (if you live in or are visiting Orcutt) and the building is excellent. I've never been to a pub in Ireland, so I can't say it's "authentic", but it looks great. The surroundings are very well done.
When it first opened I went a few times and was very pleased with the food, though not pleased with the crowds, and the service was iffy. They made a few menu changes that I didn't like, so that lessened my desire to eat there.
In the last year or so I've just found the crowds, noise, and iffy service to be more than I'm readily willing to endure.
All my friends who drink love this place, so if sitting in a loud, crowded pub and downing beers while eating marginally above average food is your thing you'll probably be satisfied here.
We don't drink, so that probably colors my review (though they really don't have anything "fun" to drink that is N/A. My wife couldn't even get a Shirley Temple).
I do like the bangers and mash, and my wife is very fond of the shepherd's pie and the corn beef, so now we will occasionally call in an order to go and bring it home.

Cold Stone is always one of my favorite ice cream joints. This one in Orcutt however is a little disappointing in that the staff does not take pride in the singing for tips as I have witnessed at more successful Cold Stone stores. The ice cream is excellent and the location is good with plenty of parking and easy access for travelers off the 101 freeway or just bopping around town. I like the creamy texture and the way it is prepared.

We were really surprised by this intimate (as Starbucks go) setting in Santa Maria. Local Baristas are friendly and helpful and it was clean and well stocked. A worthy stop for locals and travelers going up and down the 101 alike.

This is the first visit made to Jack's since the restaurant was remodeled after the fire.
Had the 805 Chicken Sandwich, with bacon, cheese and onions cooked with 805 beer.
It was delicious.
The service was good and the waitress had no problem remembering my request for the onions and avocado on the side. All the wait staff were very polite and anxious to refill our water glasses when necessary.
Price was right too! Very pleasantly surprised and would definitely go back.

We decided to stop at Orcutt for breakfast before heading back home. It was very crowded, but we didn't have to wait too long to be seated. It is a small restaurant and it seemed popular among the locals. Everyone knew everyone. They offered a great variety of breakfast choices and our omelets were delicious. The service was also prompt and fast.
