Moran's Oyster Cottage Seafood Restaurant Galway, The Weir, Kilcolgan, Co. Galway, is a traditional thatched cottage that dates back over 250 years. Today Morans is run by the 7th generation of the Moran family in the business. It is renowned the world over for its superb seafood and Galway oysters which attracts people from the five continents, and is open all year round
Moran's might just be my favourite restaurant in Ireland. Continues to be excellent with the freshest seafood and delicious dishes that make you want to come back time and time again. Staff are also excellent. Highly recommend the steamed clams, garlic mussels and crab claws, with lots of brown bread and the obligatory pint!

We ate a late lunch here on a local recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed the freshly prepared local fish and sandwiches, with side bucket of veggies. My husband raved about the tender roast bacon. The first pint of our trip to Ireland. Several families with kids were warmly welcomed. A local hangout with moderate prices.

My wife and I and our lil boy decided to try here for breakfast for something different...
We were left very disappointed the restaurant was not busy there was a large group in and then us 3!..
We read the menu in the table which you woukd need a magnifier glass to read it so small ..
My wife ordered the 4 egg omelette and I a large breakfast I asked could I swap the fried eggs for scrambled I was told NO that I can't swap anything on the menu but if I wanted it I'd have to order it separate that was fine all breakfasts come with tea or coffee and toast or brown bread. . . We waited and the waitress came to us with our cupsf or the coffee and sides and cutlery Then arrived down with the brewing pot of coffee which was horrible and burnt tasting it obviously had been brewed quite a while! You'd imagine a small restaraunt like this would brew coffee to order ..
The breakfast came my was the large and my wife the omellete .
The omellete stated it was 4 eggs but it was more like 2 it was tiny and very disappointing for the price as was the large breakfast which was 2 sausage 2 egg 2 bacon about an egg cup of mushrooms and rock hard sliced potatos.. the fried eggs are poached in oil as stated that's fine but the whites on the eggs Were not fully cooked , I like soft eggs but this was practically raw! I sent them back . They were microwaved! The toast was cold the sausages on the large breakfast were small skinny ones ! A minute or 2 after he eggs came out the waitress came down n asked "are the eggs ok now!!"what restaurant the serves breakfast doesn't allow any one to swap out items on the breakfast fair enuf if it was busy but it was dead! Overall experience was rude also the restaurant was cold I felt I should have out my jacket back on . We were very dispointed by our overall experience here and won't be returning.

Had breakfast with family members. This is located next to a large supermarket multiple with ample underground parking facility. The restaurant was busy with diners including mothers with children.
The service was efficient and the staff were very pleasant. We enjoyed eggs Benedict served on brown soda bread, the Aussie breakfast with poached eggs on a muffin and a savoury omelette with spinach served with brown soda bread. A children's portion of the omelette was also served.
All told, a reasonable place to consider.

We went to the porterhouse on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation and it was really busy. The staff were very accommodating and we got drinks with a table made available after about 10mins. One of the bar men came over to the kids and logged them into WiFi which was good for kids, nice touch.
There were a lot of staff working and all very busy.
There was a good comprehensive menu with steaks, burgers, pasta dishes, fish and specials.
I had rib eye steak, wife had fish cakes with a glass of wine and kids had carbonara. Overall the food was delivered with a small wait and was pretty good. For desert, I had a coffee with a hot muffin and ice cream, wife had a cookie and ice-cream and both kids got 2 scoops of complimentary ice cream each. I got the bill which was about €65 which was okay value. Overall, the staff were good and friendly, food was good, venue was roomy with plenty of tables, service was good and value was as expected. We'll be making this a regular stop around Oranmore.

I stopped here recently to pick up a take away. To say I was surprised with the quality would be an understatement. From the base on all three pizzas to the toppings to the " exquisite merging of taste ".. this was a pizza like no other. It was the work of an artisan chef.. " wonderful ".

Called here while passing on my travels quite a few times this year, the staff are always very friendly and helpful. they always make me feel so welcome.
I have food allergies and they are always very accommodating with this.
The cod and salmon bake is always a favourite and well worth calling for this. Keep up the good work.

This was my first visit. I must admit I was most suspicious when I saw all the 5 star reviews because such consistency is impossible .. so draw your own conclusions.
This place is good and it's not a tourist trap. The food is of the veggie and Med variety. It's well prepared .. plated and served. By Galway standards it's an adventurous menu. Staff and service excellent, It's good and I will be back! It's a very good 4 star .. really good and worth a visit!

Selection of hearty, handmade Sweet & Savoury Pies, served in our cosy boutique celtic restauarant. All pies made with high quality Irish meats, organic vegetables and organic spelt flour. Vegetarian options available. Children welcome.
Stopped in here to try something that wasn't pub food, and wasn't disappointed. We were the first to pop in after it opened, and really enjoyed the food. Pie size is decent, and the service was great. Very cool interior decor.
The space is definitely small, so get there early! You won't be disappointed.
