Mudbrick is world-renowned for its superb restaurant and award-winning wines. With its spectacular sea views, French potager Gardens and hand-hewn mud-brick buildings, the setting is "A must-see when visiting Auckland" (New York Times).
My husband and I (two HSPs from Vancouver, Canada) are always seeking out beautiful views and great food that are ideally quiet and peaceful. This place hit the mark perfectly. It was very quiet, peaceful, the views and grounds were gorgeous and the food/drinks were delicious. We both had cocktails to start, my lavender cocktail was delicious and smelled amazing. Then we both had the lamb, simply incredible. Then we had some delicious chocolate desserts. Service was excellent. This is a beautiful place to visit, well worth the spurge.

Good selection of wines, set up at tables on the yoga deck, overlooking the vineyards, talked through by those who seem to really know and love their wines. There's even a red named after Faithful, the vineyard dog who just passed on. Go for the...MoreDear magicalsummer, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Both siting on the lawn with a view, a place on the deck or a long table inside the views from here are great. 10 minutes walk from the ferry make this place an easy destination. We selected a casual platter and wine by the glass.
Book a head for a group, if casual dinning is required there are lots of options.

Casual, garden-to-plate eating in a relaxed vineyard setting.
Visited on a sunny Saturday for a long lunch and that is just what we got. Excellent, attentive service, great recommendations and stunning food and wine. The team were so helpful in allowing us to taste the wines whilst in the restaurant as we would have struggled to get up to the tasting room with my husbands wheelchair.
Highly recommend the octopus and panelle, as well as the smoked potatoes. The fantastic caramelised peach with frozen yoghurt and macadamia brittle, accompanied by the stunning Rose dessert wine was the perfect finish.

Casita Miro is a glass pavilion set on a hill in the middle of a vineyard. The views from the restaurant are across the vineyard and the village to the sea at Onetangi. The restaurant was judged Auckland's Best Rural Restaurant in the 2011 Audi-Metro restaurant awards and it was second place in 2012, and has been a runner up or finalist every year since. It is a very highly ranked Casual Bistro, and the proprietor, Cat Vosper was judged Auckland's Restaurant Personality of the Year for 2011. Casita Miro serves an eclectic mix of Spanish tapas and Moroccan food, using fresh local and New Zealand produce. Even the fish is caught in the sea within a few kilometres of the restaurant. Chef Cristian Hossack has cooked in the a Michelin starred restaurant in the UK, as well as at top class New Zealand restaurants. The owner/manager is Cat Vosper, and the winemaker / mosaicist is Dr Barnett Bond. They are married with three children, one of whom works in the restaurant.
It was raining hard when we arrived at the vineyard. But oh my, they made the extra effort to provide us the best wine tasting accommodation possible. The wine selection we're so good and very informative. I even bought their best red wine "Madame Rouge" as a gift to my friend. If I go back to Auckland, I would definitely visit them again.

This is an annual must visit for us. Rob and Connie the owners are dedicated to making people feel welcome. Their young international staff are schooled by them and are in turn committed to their values of hospitality.
The wines as usual are sublime and matched to food for the tasting flights.
The restaurant menu this year has a distinct South American slant influenced by a brilliant young Argentinian Chef. The desserts Including the home made ice cream - all Gluten Free - were fabulous.
If you are going to Waiheke do try to visit, we are sure you will have a memorable time. We will be back.

We had a great dinner for six here. Good Italian food and great service. The only misgiving we had in choosing it was that it did not have much of a view, unlike some of the other restaurants in town. It made up for it in terms of ambiance, service and good food. Glad we did not hold out for the view. As always, it was nice to see it was also a destination favoured by the locals.

Just 40 minutes from Auckland but a world away, The Oyster Inn is the perfect escape from Auckland, whether for just a night, a weekend or longer. The Inn features a large restaurant & bar, a beach boutique, a private event space three luxuriously simple guest rooms. Opened in 2012, The Oyster Inn has gained local and international attention, being featured on Travel & Leisure's 2013 IT List and Metro's Top 50 Restaurants. With a gorgeous but unpretentious interior by designer Katie Lockhart, The Oyster Inn has fast become one of the island's most popular restaurants.
This is one of my all time favs here in NZ - the food is fantastic and always so fresh. The prices are a little higher yes but that's what you pay for quality on Waiheke. The service is simply outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. Perry is lovely and Diago was a great server throughout the day, and Rosie was fab for breakfast (we were guests for the night) - highly recommended. Also must note that the sticky beef and watermelon salad was out of this world!

The pizzas were very average and massively overpriced for a caravan on the beach. I’m wondering if it’s only because it was Friday night but they pretty much ran out of everything by 730. Probably because of this the pizzas had minimal toppings on. The garlic pizza was inedible. I wouldn’t go back or recommend. Sorry
