My wife and I took a drive from Gainesville West tracking along some less traveled roads between I75 and US98. Around lunchtime we found ourself looking for a local place to grab abite. Thanks to its Excellence Award on trip advisor, 1998 Grill was our choice.
The restaurant is small and tucked away. Inside it was clean well maintained and comfortable. You order your food from the counter, and seat yourself.
The food was very good, according to a sign, all orders are made fresh and our was fresh. They have a nice eclectic selection bottled sodas, and country knickknacks for sale.
Overall, if you are in the area this is a highly recommended stop for lunch. We arrived before the lunch crowd, so we got in order and sat down immediately. Shortly after we started eating the place filled up with local workers, business people, and a church group. After that, others had to wait.

We went last night with another couple and our toddler. If you check in on Facebook, your drinks are free. The server was very personable. She showed us YouTube videos on her phone! Three of us got burgers and I got a breakfast meal called the Kitchen sink, a scramble of a bunch of breakfast ingredients. The food was pretty good and they were friendly and quick.

Full Italian Menu, Pasta, Baked Pasta, Pizza, Appetizers, Salads, Sandwiches. Dine-in full service restaurant with Italian decor. Charming red and white checked valance drapes in all the windows. Decorative chef motive wallpaper boarders, nicely landscaped lot. RV parking available, dog walk area.
My wife and I had the great pleasure of dining at Little Luigi's Pizza in Cross City today. I must say the food is remarkable, truly fantastic at every level. It was very flavorful and lots of it. My wife and I both got a Calzone. I found the pricing very fair. Every member of the staff was extremely pleasant, friendly, accommodating and was happy to talk and answer questions about the business and area. The next time we are in Cross City and hungry for Italian food you can bet we will be eating at Little Luigi's. If you have hungry teenagers or special guests from out of town I would highly recommend Little Luigi's.

Had lunch with friends. Dinner salad was hunks of iceberg, few pieces of marinated cuke, 1 red onion ring, a few tomato pieces. Spaghetti served with quick cooked tomato sauce sparingly on moderate amount of pasta. Rolls have distinct sour dough taste. Seafood combo had 3 shrimp, 12 tiny scallops with a side and salad. For big appetites I recommend burgers & fries. Tea is good. Service slow at times due to being busy. Located in remodeled house with plywood floors. Cocktails and wines available. Some outdoor seating.

The quilt shop is the big draw but we came with friends to attend a Sherlock Holmes Tea. The room was bright and the 8 tables each seating 8 were set beautifully. A brief history of Holmes was given and one of his short stories read during the tea. Each table had a three tier server with small sandwiches to sweetbreads. Two types of tea were served. The first serving was followed by trays of deserts which were chosen carefully. Plenty to eat and drink and all in all a very enjoyable two hours.

Fanning Springs is not a large city and Lighthouse Restaurant on US 19 is the best restaurant. The decor is early lighthouse, the staff is very good and the menu changes with the time of day. However, it was around 11:00am and I still got black coffee, two eggs and toast. I called it lunch.

If you are looking for down home southern cooking at a reasonable price then you have hit the jackpot with this spot. The entire restaurant is very clean and well maintained. The fried chicken, Lima beans, Mashed Potatoes and Fried Pork bites was amazing. For dessert they offer fresh doughnuts.
Their burgers and fries was top notch as well

6 friends stopped in for lunch in late December 2016. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. Drink orders arrived quickly and correctly. Refilled always arrived before the need to ask. Plenty of lemon was provided as requested. 5 of us ordered the Shrimp Po Boy ($9.95) with 1 side. The sandwiches were generously filled with fried shrimp, lettuce & tomato with a citrus lime sauce on hot, grilled buns. Tarter & cocktail sauces were provided on the side. We each ordered different sides and all were well prepared and temp correct. - Signature peach baked beans, sweet potato fries with cinnamon butter, waffle fries, slaw & broccoli. The 6th order was for the Fish & Chips ($10.95) - a generous serving of Pollock on waffle cut fries with a side. It too was served hot & crispy. Everyone was very satisfied when we walked out and we all plan to return when we're in the area.
