Located in downtown Norton by the holiday inn and the railroad tracks, Mifinca is a beacon drawing all interested in good food.
We stayed nearby and came in for some takeout.
The place was hopping and had good atmosphere. The service was exceptional, friendly and efficient.
The food was… OK. It is not as good as other communities-- for example Northern Virginia or other places, but considering where you are..... I would recommend eating at Mifinca in Norton.

After having dinner, I wanted to have some ice cream. I saw this Dairy Queen near my hotel. The restaurant is the typical Dairy Queen. The ice cream was good. Employees were friendly. The restaurant was a little on the dirty side. My only concern was the number of undesirable people hanging around in the parking lot and inside the restaurant. Some of the customers were acting strange; one even said some derogatory things to people as they took their order from the counter to their seats. I ate quickly and left.

Fun atmosphere, good food. Good value. Potato soup was really good. Those in our group who had burgers liked them. Good salads. We were on a motorcycle trip with 14 in our party, they seated us back in the bar room which was nicer and quieter. Good service.

The pizza was good. We ordered a large supreme. It was timely and tasty. The service was good and the wait staff was friendly. There is not a lot to choose from in Norton, but this is a good choice.

DoughMakers is a locally owned pizza shop offering excellent pizzas, subs and salads. They offer take-out and delivery, and also have a small dining area. The food is amazing and the staff are friendly. They have the best pizzas and salads in town!

Fried chicken headed the buffet tonight and was VERY good. Salad items were fresh and varied. Several other items, such as chicken livers with onions, were rock hard and dry, and were never replaced during the hour we were there.

But won't be back. The food was good. Getting in and out of this shopping area was a nightmare, but not Applebee's fault.
We were seated immediately, and the greeter made a point of showing us several items that would be "Served in 12 minutes or free." This person said the same thing to everyone she seated around us. However, we overheard another server telling a nearby table that this guarantee would not apply today. It's as if the staff did not communicate with each other.
Little glitches: No straws with our drinks. We flagged down another server and got straws, and there were so many servers that some were just standing around. No sweetener on the table, and none offered. Our server would pass by our table and ask how everything was going, but be gone by the time we responded. I felt like the victim of a drive-by serving.
And, of course, we ordered one of the "12 minutes or free" items. It took almost 20 minutes. I didn't make a fuss over it, but now you know. I left a decent tip, but nowhere near my normal amount. There are several restaurants in this area. Even though we like Applebee's, we probably will choose a different site the next time we pass through this area.

We had bkft at Hardees during our trip. We enjoyed the platter with biscuit and gravy and bacon and scrambled eggs. It was very busy that morning with local seniors enjoying their coffee as I assume they do every day in that little town of Norton. Outside they are working on the parking lot so a lot of noise going on!
