Their paczki were very good. Far better than the ones I bought last year at Yummies. in fact, ALL of their donuts are far better. Takes 2 hands to hold their cinnamon rolls and apple fritters.

Phone: 941-624-3051 Awesome Homemade ice cream! I don't think they have a website. They are always busy and the decor is license plates from around the country. Urban spoon reviews: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/136/910619/restaurant/Florida/Sweet-Scoops-Ice-Cream-Port-Charlotte
The only thing that stops me from going more often is it's across town. The ice creams are all great and there are so many choices. I had a Lemon Meringue crush for awhile now I wish there was just Lemon so it would be tart. Current favorite is the Black Cherry and the cherries are huge and delicious but the Mocca Chocolate, Turtle, Coffee, Coconut , Rum Raisin are all great too. If you get 2 scoops they can be different flavors so when I really wanted the Black Cherry but wished it had chocolate in it I just got both. They only have Ice Cream soft or hard, also ice cream drinks and sundaes. It's fun to sit inside and look at all the license plates from all over including Europe. The servers are personable and efficient. There is also a drive up window. Parking lot is very small sometimes you have to park on the road.

Okay, first let me say that in this case, you can't judge a book by it's cover. Que Rico is located in a little strip shopping center that isn't very decorative. You look at the entrance door and you wonder, hmmmm. Once inside, it is...MoreThank you!! We’ll see you soon!!

My cousin and I each ordered the Mexican salad that was delicious. We saw many other dishes being served that looked interesting and look forward to trying them.

My husband and I stopped at this location for lunch. This one room restaurant was clean and had good service. You could see into the kitchen so the seafood smell was present. My husband got the 2 piece fish and chips. Fish lightly fried and the restaurant is known for this dish. I got the lightly fried shrimp, fries and Cole slaw. Shrimp good and fries cooked well. Plenty to eat. We both had colas. Price $24.85 plus tip. Lots of locals. My husband would go again. I liked the food and service but I also like atmosphere and would probably select a place on the water next time. However, as stated above for what it is deserves a 4 rating.

Today I took my 88 year old mother and wife out for lunch. I live in Islandwalk in Venice/Northport and had heard good things from neighbors about the Greek Grill. I had seen it across the street from the new Culver's on 41. So, off we went.
Dino , the owner, was a great host and served as our waiter. We like good Greek food and have vacationed in Greece and Crete.
The food here is high quality with high quality ingredients. You can tell. The Feta cheese is not the typical salty hard crumbly stuff they serve here in the states. It was not salty at all and soft, almost to the point you could spread it on bread. And straight from Greece, Dino even told us the geographical area when we asked.
We had an appetizer and chose the warm pita, an eggplant spread that was full of wonderful garlic flavor, humus, that was simply smooth, full of olive oil and fresh, and the tzatziki was made with fresh greek goat milk yogurt and not sour cream.....as so many places use.
My wife had Moussaka, which she loved and I did as well. We split a 1/2 order of American Greek salad. Very fresh ingredients.
I had a grilled lamb sandwich wrapped in warm pita with some tomatoes and tzatziki. The tzatziki is generous on the sandwich. If you are not sure about tzatzki, tell them to put it on the side. However, I loved the humus and eggplant salads so much, I think next time I will add them to the sandwich and skip the tzatzki. The lamb was fresh and grilled and done to pink medium. Very good, and not overcooked. If you want it well done, tell them. I like it pink and that is the way it was served.
My mom had the regular gyro and liked it very much. I failed to taste it. It is the compressed type meat they sell in the states.......likely a higher quality, but not the type you would find in Greece (in my experience.
This is a place that takes pride in itself and in the quality of the food they serve. We will be recommending this place and we will be coming back, by ourselves and with friends.
I look forward to trying out many more things on the menu. This place has been in business for about 6 years and I wish it many more. So glad we found this place and sorry that we have been in the area for 5 years and never found you.
Oh, and finally, they cook without sugar and are very aware of diabetic needs. Great for my wife.

We walked in at 7:30 on a Saturday night and it was busy but we were able to be seated immediately. Very clean excellent service and TVs everywhere. The wings were very good. We also had onion rings, Buffalo chicken salad, Buffalo chicken nachos and a bacon cheeseburger platter. Everyone enjoyed their meals always get their drinks for and I would recommend it.

Our first visit to Alvaro's was several months ago. The food was fine and the service was prompt. We could see the owner going from table to table and speaking with each of the regulars. We thought it would be nice to be a regular...MoreThank you for taking the time to review our restaurant we will take all comments to our staff and implement the necessary changes.

Located in Bobcat Village Center
I went with a group of eight, with reservations for rib night. (Wednesdays, and reservations are a must.) Hard to pick from the 10 different rib flavors, but I chose Caribbean Jerk and they were excellent. Had sweet potato fries with mine. They serve beer and wine, but no mixed drinks. Our service was very good.
