We stopped here for breakfast on our way in from Jackfish Lake to North Battleford. There was plenty of parking for or travel trailer at the back of the restaurant. The serving staff was very prompt and provided us with menus, water and coffee. There was a good selection of breakfast specials at very reasonable prices. Under $6.00 for sausages, eggs, hash browns and toast. Our orders arrived in a timely fashion and as requested. Our server returned several times to freshen up our coffee and also inquired if our meals were satisfactory.

Famous for our wonton soup, 'The Big One'. Well known for fresh ingredients and overall cleanliness, Moon's Kitchen has been the locals' favorite Chinese Restaurant for over 20 years. Moon's Kitchen offers a wide variety of dishes from the famous wonton soup 'The Big One' to authentic Cantonese dishes such as Singapore noodles, lo mein, sweet & sour boneless pork, and garlic & black bean dishes. Every dish is made to order. No pre-cooking, in order to offer the utmost freshness to each and every dish.
My husband and I have visited twice over the past 3 weeks, and both visits were great. It was fairly busy the first Wednesday, and was very dead this past Wednesday. Both times, the food was great, and the portions were huge! We left with a take-out container both meals. Prices were fair ($13-$14 for a combo dinner plate). Server was quiet, but we really preferred to just be left to our meal. Glasses were always full of water :)

We usually go to Porta Bella because it is convenient. Today we got a very pleasant surprise: a new menu! No longer a thick manuscript of every imaginable dish in the universe but a succinct and tempting menu. Best surprise however is the words: "soup from scratch ". At last!
Which we of course immediately ordered and were delighted with the delicious soup served with perfectly toasted good artisan french loaf. Our steak sandwiches was beautifully presented with onion rings on top and the steak was cooked to perfection. I really do not want to criticize but a floury Portuguese bun instead of the squashed piece of toast would of course make it a true steak Sandwich.
The Caesar salad and chicken breast was fabulous.
The only food that we had that was disappointing was the spring rolls. Uninspiring and unidentifiable inside and oily and hard on the outside.
Service was perfect. Friendly and attentive. And while we arrived a bit after 12 they still got us out in time to work at 1!
Your attention to the menu and your soup from scratch will now make me visit Porta Bella's because I am looking forward to the experience.

We came here around 6pm on a Sunday. The place was not busy and every table was dirty. Staff was friendly and we placed an order. Our food came quickly but our order was completely wrong. We brought it up to staff and they prepared fresh food. During this whole time no one cleaned tables and we ended up wiping one down ourselves. The food was very average at best. That night everyone suffered stomach pains and ended up in the bathroom. This was the only meal we ate together that day and the only cause. That is it, will never eat here again until they get their act together. Unless you are looking to totally clean out your colon, eat somewhere else.....

After a great day out, nothing tastes better or is more relaxing than a delicious meal. Like all good cooks, we are fussy. Each and every day, our locations open and take on an elaborate process which is more difficult than any of many of our competitors. We make our own dough from scratch, we use 100% REAL, low-fat cheese, free of substitutes and fillers. We use fresh vegetables on our pizza and our very own blend of special spices in our pizza sauce on every pizza. We want our product to be the best tasting, highest quality product we can provide at a great value to you, our customers. We do it because Healthy never tasted so GOOD!
I loved the thin crust and the pizza was not greasy at all. We had received a 'free pizza' certificate from Family pizza in the Welcome Wagon package, and it was on of the better pizzas I ever had!! Thank you so very much Family...MoreWe're happy you have enjoyed your first order from Family Pizza, and look forward to serving you again! Welcome to North Battleford!

We stopped here briefly on our way through to Edmonton and sooooo glad we did. We got ours to go, they had a vast menu and the sushi rolls that we choose were the red dragon and black dragon. Both were a new tasty twist on an old favorite. Staff are very helpful efficient and friendly. Easy access location. I highly recommend!

The restaurant is clean, well organized and well staffed but the food is nothing special. We had mushroom soup which was pasty and a chicken club wrap and the chicken, unfortunately, was deep fried.
The store in the restaurant has interesting knick-knacks and souvenirs worth having a look at.

When I first reviewed the Main Course I rated it at a "4". Since being there a number of times since, I have come to the inescapable conclusion that, at the time, I either had my head in a basket or had just fallen off a turnip truck.
There is not a more attractive venue in North Battleford and area: both from interior decor or when enjoying the spectacular view over the 3rd green and down to the 3rd t-box on the golf course and across the river valley.
Carol and her business partner run an excellent restaurant with really good food, prompt service and a friendly approach without being intrusive.
Last fall, we had a pleasant conversation with a group of four USA hunters who patronized the Main Course every evening for their supper/dinner. Their comment included the observation that they had not felt so welcome in a restaurant before. I endorse that observation.
Don't be misled by the fact that the Main Course is in the clubhouse of the North Battleford Golf and Country Club. Although it well patronized by golfers, I suspect that the majority of the clientele are non-golfers who just want the pleasure of great food in a pleasant atmosphere away from the traffic of "down town".
