The medieval city of Norrkoping is nicknamed “The Manchester of Sweden” because of its historical role in the paper and textile industries. Those industries were powered by the Motala river, which runs through the city. Visit the Himmelstalundsvägen to see ancient rock carvings that date to the Nordic Bronze Age, or explore the Industrial Landscape to get an understanding of what shaped modern day Norrkoping.

We have been on a dinner during the week. The service was okay, the quality was good - although not overwhelming - but the pricing us ridiculous. A small starter with some very small salmon pieces (Lax) at something like 150 SEK - thus I cannot recommend.

Had a lovely relaxed meal at Pappa Grappa (main restaurant not waterside restaurant) It was a standard pizza and pasta menu with a couple of signature dishes added.
We had two children's spaghetti, one spaghetti arrabbiata , one lasagne, one garlic bread, two gin and tonics and two apple juice. The bill came to £90. Expensive but not unusual for Sweden. Note the children's portions were huge and one would have been enough for two toddlers.
All very tasty with friendly and efficient service.

A bustling, lively restaurant with unique design, serving classic Italian food made with genuine ingredients. Over 30 wines by the glass, half glass or tasting. Classic and home created cocktails from the bar.
Interesting concept with selfservice of wine and ordering food at the register and housed in the old papermill, it still manages to feel intimate and creative. Food is wellcooked and creative enough to stisfy a bored palate. Good beerselection and seasonal variation on the menu...MoreHi! Thank you for taking the time to review us. I'm delighted to hear that you have enjoyed your visits to us and I hope that we will keep you coming back for years to come! Best wishes and have a great weekend Iain

Good trading food on a casual atmosphere and fair price. I had a few beers of local origin that suited the food quite well. Not a large menu but quick friendly service. I am traveling almost every week and have to say it's not so bad to get fasting courteous service for s change.

Welcome to a gourmet experience beyond the ordinary with fresh delicacies from the sea. Fiskmagasinet is Norrköping's first choice when it comes to fish and seafood dishes. In the restaurant, both at home chef who uteätaren to get their gourmet needs saturated. If you want to cook for yourself at home, so you just have to visit the shop, which is next to the restaurant. Have a nice meal
I liked the atmosphere of this restaurant. Staff were extremely kind and helpful. I went for the lunch menu and loved that as well as the delicious poached cod in butter sauce with asparagus and new potatoes, there was salad to start with with bread or crispbread, sparkling water and coffee and little cake all included in the price which I thought was extremely reasonable.
I sat outside in the shaded courtyard and felt very content on my first day in Sweden this year.

The Lamp Restaurant in Norrköping. Feel luxury and enjoy The Lamp. We think good, delicious and simple food with exciting flavors. Would like to recommend this nice restaurant in the very center of the town.
Atmosphere is very special, not typical for Norrkoping, made in black&white colours.
Food is very tasty.
Good selection of vine.
Coctails are not impressive.

Knappingen (or Knäppingen) is a restaurant with their own micro brewery in the middle of Norrkoping's old industry quarters. The area has a special feel, lots of old buildings and history and is currently undergoing some new development with the construction of several modern apartment buildings. Knappingen has been open for some years but I've managed to miss it until now.
We went here a Thursday night, just looking for somewhere to eat. I ordered a Cinco de Mayo burger really well done (am phobic to "pink" meat) and my partner had tacos (two meat and one fried fish). Not being much of a beer drinker, I had a coke. My partner, who is the beer drinker, claims that a couple of other places in town have a larger selection, but if you want something really good to eat with your beer (-s), Knappingen is the place to go. They have a good selection of popular but small brands and also several of their own brews, in a wide range from IPA and sour to darker ales and stouts. And the food was delicious, well cooked from meat to sides, perhaps a bit uneven when it comes to the fries.
The restaurant is in three floors, downstairs is really cosy with sofas to hang out in, just like somebody's living room. Upstairs you can see the brewery equipment, have beer tastings and guided tours of the brewing process. The restaurant part is pub-like, but modern and with lots of class and nice touches such as the custom built bar decor in brass.
Will not give 5/5 due to some minor details (lack of my preferred soda and the unevenly cooked fries). But will definitely go here again!

Had a great family dinner there last Saturday. Five of us had a three course dinner. Everyone different things and the service was fine. We had everything at the same time and enjoyed it.
I thought the mussels and shrimps entre was bland, but my husband enjoyed it. The fish "planka" with mash was lovely and the pannacotta to finish it off to die for.
Wines at decent prices and service friendly and familiar. A lot if people when we were there - 5 pm- 7 PM. But everything went great.
We didn't have the pizzas, but they really looked fantastic. Wouldn't mind trying on of them!
